Cheap alternative to inline fan

Just thought I would post this since I know everyone is always looking for a cheap fan to cool their grow space. Let me start by saying that my grow tent is 62x32x20. I'm not positive how much it will cool another grow area, but I have mine hooked up to a 400w hps with cool tube. I have not finished my setup completely and I just did a test run earlier to see if the blower fan that I bought would cool the tent just pulling from the cool tube with NO fresh air being pulled in. My temps only made it to 82.6 degrees with 39RH. This is a pretty small area with no intake.

My cool tube takes 6" ducting, so I had to convert what I already had on hand. I used what is called a "vent draft blocker" it is the white piece that the reducer is attached to. I like this method better than hot gluing it to the blower fan. You can pick up one of the vent draft blockers at homedepot for around 3 dollars. I don't believe that you can find them any bigger at the homedepot, but I think you can order them online. I cut one side off of the draft blocker so it would fit flush to the blower. If you do use this method, be precise on screwing into the side, as the squirrel cage is right there also. I used very small screws I had on hand.

If you have a harbor freight in your area you can go and pick this up. It cost me around 40 dollars with a 20% off coupon and it has 300cfm and it is adjustable. I only had mine set to about half way when I had it pulling from my cool tube.
