Homemade Grow Box Remake

I'm planning on making a grow journal once I get the clones in. I'm starting off with my first indoor grow, i've done an outdoor grow last summer with two plants that yielding a few ounces. I've been doing a ton of research to figure out how to do what I need to do and now this is what I came up with... Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated, I really want to get anything thats a factor out of the way by the time I start em up.

I started off with a cabinet I had in my garage and hollowed it out, drilled a few holes on the top and cut two fan holes on opposite sides. Once I had everything in I measured the heat with 2 120W CFLs and two 120mm computer fans. With it being in my closet it still got pretty hot and up to 100degrees.

So after all that work I decided to start a new one. I grabbed some spare would, drew out a plan, and started fresh. Heres the outcome of that. I still have the same lights but added 1 more. Upgraded to a 120mm 2950 RPM fan, which shot out a lot more than the 120mm computer fan. This box also gave me a lot more room. Its about two and a half feet in width and a good four feet or so in hieght. The box has cooled down, its constant 80 degrees now which is a lot better but not exactly enough I dont think.

Next up I need to think about a drainage system, I was thinking just stapling plastic tarping to the bottom and putting a tub in there to catch the water. I'm not sure yet, any suggestions help.

Basically I just wanted to hear what people think and any ideas that can help make this grow better. I will be using Fox Farms Ocean Forrest and Fox Farms 3 Pack.

Thanks,
Ross

your old box was PERFECT. you just went about the lighting all wrong. you could easily put in some t5 bulbs or some cfls and it would have worked out good. even a 70hps or a 150watt hps would have worked in there. all you would have needed to add is a cooling pipe.

look at the link in my sig and go to the last page. i have a 150watt hps in my little box and temperatures never reach above 82. you would have been surprised with what temps you could have reached with a simple cooling tube design

One thing i'm thinking about is starting them in the dresser and then moving them into the bigger box later on? Or hell, maybe doing two different grows?

How big would the plants get in the dresser tho... not that big im assuming right?

correct, not that big. but you could do some training on them and that would increase your yield. thats what i plan on doing in my small box

hey man, thats a good idea to have a cabinet as a grow box. But, one question how do you vent it??

Basically there are two square cut holes in the box. In the first dresser theres one on the left and right top sides. The newer box there is just one.

So to vent it you would want a fan pushing outward as an exhaust to get the hot air out, and a fan intake to have it push in fresh air..
