Working on a better/more powerful lighting system but shouldn't need it for a few weeks,

just barley under the min lumes/sf atm

and I have a 400 watt hps for flowering (if I can get my couzin to drop the price)
humidity is a kinda high its around 60
Anythoughts?

Added a pic of a sprout at day 3... ( prolly a really stupid question but is she stetching already?)

The light from the fluoro tube is just being wasted because the plants are barely under it and the rest of the light is going next to the pots, just turn it off. The way the bulbs are arranged most of the light is again not reaching the plants. Get 3 of those bulbs, or all if you can and want, within 4 inches of the plants right above them. Any bulb more than 10 inches away isnt doing much good and might as well be turned off to save some electricity.

Agreed. Those lights as they are, angled out like that, is just a waste.

Just a suggestion: Take those lights with the reflectors and make those directly overhead and reflecting straight down, ditto on the cool white fluoro in the black fixture. The triple fixture that you have needs to go away, replace that with a triple fixture like what would go over a bathroom mirror, preferably made of polished aluminum or steel, and hang that overhead as well. Then, box it in with a reflective sheeting of some sort so you can concentrate the light inside. This will help keep light within the growing area of the plant.

The blue bulb in the ginger ale can reflector - is that a compact UV bulb?

It's the best rigjob I can think of while I'm this stoned. Best of luck to you in any regard!

I've turned 2 of the 3 lighs on the side off, moved the fluoro closer and higher
I'm going to have to make a whole new fixture eventualy,

but as they get bigger I've read I should have lights at the side. thats what was i was thinkin when i built it.

Ah well. Just try to make your lighting directed more downwards and have it overhead and contained, that will help you maximize the usage of the available light you have.

Thanks man,
I'm thinking of grabing some of those "plug socket" thingys and making a new on with a powerbar and some sheet metal

I wish i was just brave enough to buy all the shit at the same time from the same place.

people say the high cost comes from lights.... its gas for me :(

That'd be an interesting approach. a power strip with those (if there's enough space for room for that many with their ballasts) might be a viable solution if they're plugged in without wires. I've seen the light socket to outlet converters, but never the opposite without some sort of cord attached.

Thats what I ment, socket to outlet. v splitter onto that, all down a power bar. Saw it on here somewhere looked fuckin perfect for me.

looking good. I'm maybe 3 weeks ahead of you, about 5 inches. you shouldn't have to worry about stretching with those lights. you might want to get cool blue lights to replace the warm white ones, but what you have should work well too. once they are a little taller, maybe 3 inches, I keep the lights about an inch from the bulb. just be very careful that no leaves ever touch. they burn very quickly. 5 seconds or even less and the leaf is burned to a crisp. and for god sake, resist eating the leaves! it's been tough for me, but I haven't eaten or smoked any of my plants yet. :bigjoint:

I replaced the 13watt bulbs with 23 watt "cool white" and "daylight" bulbs

there about 3-4 inches away

1st is at day 5, 3 at day 4,

I have 3 more seed germinating(day two, they are looking alright, all 3 germed.
7/7 germinated
I'm just so worried about ending up with males or hermies
plan on keeping and caring for 2 or 3.
My couzin is using the same seeds, he has 4 plants (4/6 were female) and they look amazing (1 week of flowering)
I've been told thier "whitewidow+mango"

have a 5'' fan right on the lights now.

good luck, keep us posted. I have 10 bag seed plants going. when they're a little bigger I'll post pics and see if anyone knows what kind they are.

the soil is drying up really fast tho,
should i cover the soil?

it shouldn't have to be covered. how often do you water them, and how much water? what kind of soil are you using? it might only be dry on the surface, that is ok. you don't want to over-water them.

giving them maybe 3 table spoons a day

3 table spoons of water a day? might not be enough to wet the soil deep enough down. I'm not so good with soil growing, but I usually hear people water every 2 or 3 days with enough water so that it starts to come out the bottom of the pot.

there in "peatmoss pellets" with soil around them so it holds alot of water, my concern was the soil drying out then pulling water out of the pellets.
