Sour Kosher, Silver Kush, Delahaze, Ice Cream, Royal Haze, scrog

014.jpgI’m really trying to get the most out of my small 3x2x3 area, so I am scroging, toping, lsting, defoliating, supercropping, and giving approx. 2.5 months veg time. They are under a 300w mh.
They are in 3-5 gallon pots, with a generic potting soil which looked good (peatmoss, compost, vermiculte, no added nutes). I added a lot of perlite, alfalfa meal, and blood/bone meal.
These have been vegging for about 2 months now, and are filling in the screen nicely. It’s funny, the silver kush, sour kosher, and royal haze all look almost the exact same as eachother, meanwhile the paradise plants look the same as eachother.
The Sour Kosher, Silver Kush and Royal Haze all vegged very quickly in the first month. They shot through the screen at roughly the same time, weeks ahead of the delahaze and icecream. However well into the second month they are showing a few sensitivities. The sour kosher and silver kush seem sensitive to over and under watering (especially the silver kush). Their leaves do not hesitate to start drooping. The silver kush and sour kosher also showed nute deficiency problems (I didn’t give any extra nutes for the first month). These disappeared with feeding. But so long as they are watered, they all look very healthy. All of these were scrogged, and then tied down to the screen in the same fashion, and I topped a few of the tops here and there.
The delahaze and icecream show very similar growth patterns. For the first month they remained very short and extremely bushy. I thought the ice cream was a runt that would probably yield nothing. It took them forever to break through the screen, probably two weeks longer than the others. However, in the second month of vegging, they exploded (especially the Ice Cream). When they finally did break through the screen, they filled it in immediately due to their compact bushiness. The ice cream is now the largest plant in the room. They are also the most vibrant and healthy looking, VERY bushy and compact in comparison to the others. They do not seem very suitable for lst’ing, as they are not growing tall and lanky like the others, so I just topped most of the tops instead. I just topped about 6 of the delahaze tops, and a few of the icecreams. I plan on supercropping throughout flowering.
Defoliation: I have decided to employ this technique, despite the controversy. At two months into veg (yesterday), I defoliated all the fan leaves which were blocking tops. Seeing as this is an extremely crowded growing environment (I’m trying to get as many tops as humanly possible) I think it will help. My decision to do this is based on personal experience. I have done some defoliating in the past, and have not noticed any significant decrease in growth or seen hermying. What I HAVE noticed, is that if a budsite is shaded by a big fan leaf, that bud doesn’t develop. So this is the route I’ve chose.
I will probably start flowering in 1-2 weeks, whenever the new tops grow a couple inches
In the pic, the Ice Cream is top right, delahaze bottom right, royal haze upper middle, silver kush upper left, sour kosher bottom left.
The humidity is at 40-50, and the heat is just over 80. The light is a lumatek 600, dimmed down to 300, with a emperor mh in a yieldmaster air hood, vented with a 6" muffin fan, and an oscilating fan blowing in air from the bottom.

IMG_5377.jpgTwo weeks into flower now, they all doubled in size, I definitely didn't flower to soon, it's crowded in there. I defoliated heavily several more times, and am hoping not to do much more, just enough to keep all the tops clear. The sour kosher so far is the fastest to flower. Royal haze and Silver Kush still look very similar, slower flowering sativa's. Delahaze and icecream look the exact same in structure so far, just starting to show tight flowers. I wonder if they share a parent

So here they are at 4 weeks. The Sour Kosher is the fastest to flower so far, and started showing trichs and smells at 3 weeks. I can tell she is going to be super-frosty. The IceCream has gone back to being the smallest plant in the room. I forgot to take a pic of the royal haze, but it looks the exact same as the Silver-Kush. Both of them are still stretching, and I am having to super-crop like mad to keep them from taking over the room. I posted pre and post defoliation pics, as you can see I don't take off much, just enough to let a little light through the top canopy, which is otherwise extremely thick.

6 weeks in now, but they don't look it. They had a lot of light interruptions in week 4, so they might be behind a week. I hope they catch up. The Sour Kosher is the stinkiest plant in the room by far, and the stickiest. It smells sweet and , almost sweaty. It is the stickiest weed I've grown so far, I pinched a bud and my fingers literally sealed together as if I had glue on them, The Silver Kush doesnt have any smell yet and also looks the slowest to flower, the Delahaze has the biggest buds of the bunch and smells very fruity. The Royal Haze is the second strongest smelling, smells VERY strongly of lemon to the touch, and is very resinous. The Ice Cream is still small, doesn't smell like much. It is just starting to get frosty.

Looking nice mate. :)
When u say light interuption, what does that mean?
Light is the 1 thing i do not dare to mess with.
Have heard all these scary stories about revegging and herma flowers when the light cycle is "broken".
It looks like u are gonna pull some weight on this grow. Do u use overdrive?

The timer somehow got messed up, so they went a couple days with constant light, and then 3 days with no light. I also think there might have been some SMALL light leaks, which I just plugged up. That was over a week ago and no signs of hermying or anything, they just didn't put on any weight that week. I really hope it doesn't kill the yield. I don't use overdrive, but I was thinking of picking some up, I was hoping that could make up for the week of growing that they lost

Ahhh shiittt. Do you use digital timers? I used the non digital kind in the beginning and they sucked. They dident turn of when they were supposed to and so on.
So now i only run digital timers. Much more reliant and safe.
I dont think u can capture the lost week, but u might be able to give them 1 last push with the overdrive, IF they are not in vegging aigen. If reveggin is the case i have no idea what would be the best option for you, and dont think overdrive will do you much good then.
Good luck to you mate what ever you decide to do.

I started using a digital timer, but found it to be very unreliable (however it was a cheap one from walmart). I now use one with pins, it works great so long as I dont screw it up. I accidentally turned it to "on" instead of timer, and accidentally unplugged it. I don't think they are revegging, as they have been growing and getting frostier since then, so I think they will be fine, just smaller. I'll probably give the overdrive a go

Those look healthy! Is this your first time growing Hlusaf? I'd like to see how the martian kush turns out, I had the option of that or the silver kush as I got them both as freebies, decided to go with the silver and gave the martian away. Both sound decent though

Haha, I decided on the martian and gifted the silvers to a fren...wild. Thanks, they are lookin good, in 10liter pots before flower, but they look like they are gonna be stretchy ladies! Not quite a foot tall and I am debatin on throwin em in flower soon. Any input on how much they stretch? Been growin for a few years, but it is a lifelong love affair!!! Will keep postin as they go.

The Sour Kosher didn't seem to stretch too badly, the silver kush stretched quite a bit and is flowering pretty slowly. I quick dried a little early-cut bud of the sour kosher tonight, shit is really potent already, definitely gunna be a keeper. It's getting pretty sour smelling too. If your in the position to you should take clones! I wish I could have

You could but clones would be an exact copy where as selfed plants could produce many different traits I believe.
