Hey RIU community!
This is my first grow journal and I am trying to go into as much detail without having to kill people with reading at the same time. Hope everyone gains as much info as I will receive feedback!I will take constructive comments ONLY!

I have 6 Serious seeds AK-47 that I used the paper towel method to germinate and I placed all seeds into the rooter shooter plug with a heat mat underneath the tray for a day or so. Today counts the 1 week mark of my seedlings.

That being said, they are in my tent on top of my flood and drain table 18 inches away from my awesome LED light. (which I will get to in a minute) The temp is hovering at a steady 78F. I have a small flan blowing directly on seedlings as well. I have 250cfm fan attached to a Phresh carbon activated charcoal filter at the top of my tent and a passive air intake across the tent and at the bottom.

My LED light is compared to a 600w mh+hps. It is from a company called TI Smartlamp. It is called a TI smartBloom. It is a 330w light which is awesome. Barely produces heat. Very expensive though.




I also picked up a few items that I definitely need to pull off the ScrOG. The trellis. 2"x2" holes. The other item I am trying out is the CO2 Boost buddy. There is an air pump with a rod that you stick into the top of that bucket. You take the plastic tubing and attach behind a fan or over your plants. If you can stick that into the timer for your lights you will extend the life of it. There is 2 settings, low or high. I am not using that yet. In one week I will transplant shooters into hydroton and into the net pots and place into the tray on table. For now I will just be giving water to the babies.


I also got a silica additive and I picked up the entire Agricultural Organics Bloom line which is an all organic nutrient company from Australia. I heard very very good things about this stuff and the dispensary near me just pumped out 23.5% THC content off of these nutes. I figure I will give them a try. I like the whole organic thing anyway. I want to keep this AK-47 100% natural.




I also have a Bluelabs Truncheon so that when the time comes I will be able to read two different types of ppm reasonings. I also have all the ph adjusters and ph pen. When I start to fill my reservoir I will be dumping every week and using RO water only.

Week 2-3 (Week 1 Veg)
Hey everyone,
Here is my little baby 2 weeks old I. I have 5 more.


I also just set up the rest of my tent. In this picture you will see my humidifier hanging on the top right of tent. I also have a dual fan blowing across the plants. I placed the CO2 Boost tube into the dual fan so it distributes across the plants well. I am keeping my temps in the range of 72-81F and and humidity in the 55%RH range.


Week 1 Veg- Day 1
I decided that I had to transplant seedlings at the two week mark so my medium would help with support issues on the stalk. Now it is time to start the first round of nutes.

I have a 20 gallon reservoir= 76l roughly
I am using EC to take readings

I filled up my reservoir with 1/2 R/O water and 1/2 Poland spring. The ppm reading was 100-200ppm.

I added roots at full strength
sea minerals at full strength
organic s.w.t.n.r. at full strength
seaweed at full strength

Afterwards, I also added the euro a & b at half strength of what they recommend for week 1. (Which is half strength of week 2 and on)

I continuously took ppm readings throughout and it ended up in the 300-400pm range

I didn't even have to adjust ph. The reading came out at 5.7.

Well that is it for this week. I will be adding water to reservoir to counter the water loss.

I am glad to be getting started with my topping on my plants. I need to do this so I can spread out my plant under the screen. With light space restrains this is the best option.

Well that is it. I have been changing the reservoir weekly. I am going to be switching to every 13 or 14 days if possible now.

Canna Connoisser is back at it and the AK-47 girls are looking great. I did some trimming and chopping and LST'd a bit more.

I have to admit, things are really shaping up. I want some sticky ass AK nugs out of these girls.

The only thing that has changed recently is that I am running my EC at 1.2 right now. I think I am going to hold at that level for a week or two more.

Thanks. So far so good. I have them in the perfect environmental conditions and hope to not burn them all the way through. AK-47 can be a light feeder and I burned them a bit on my last grow. These look 10x better than my last grow with this strain already. I hope to not disappoint!

Quite a lot of nutes for such small plants, they seem resistant though a bit too dark a green or could it be just the picture? I think you could keep it bellow 1 for the time being. I used to always have the ec as high as the plants could take it until an old veteran told me plants might actually absorb more nutrients when ec is slightly lower as you aren't making the root system over abundant with food. Sometimes less is actually better especially in hydroponics i think. Also I really recommend changing the whole water in the system everyweek if you aren't doing so, it makes a huge difference in hydroponics use RO water if possible. Another trick I have picked up is to so 3 random 1 to 2 day flushes along the flowering period. Be sure to do one just before the last P and K feeding frenzy so as to starve the plant and make her absorb even more P and K when it does become available. I would also recommend supplementing with single nutrients of Ca and Mg after weeks 3-4, not much, i find that if when just a little bit is used buds are more fragrant and produced more crystals than otherwise.

I have the identical light and am very happy with it. I traded a guy on Craigslist a Kayak and my wife's MT. bike for it. I've had 3 grows that have gone just great using it. I'll follow along

I was slightly over feeding at that time. They are much better now and much larger.

In the pics above it shows it just reaching the screen that I hand made because the other one I bought was garbage. I am I worked my EC up to 1.2 and I waited for a few more days for it to fill in and then I flipped it to 12/12....

In these pics I trimmed a few leaves to expose more side branches. Then I LST'ed the tops that started to grow taller than the rest. I am looking for those that would be popcorn bud side branches and grow them as tall as the 2 actual tops of the plants. It is really starting to smell like crazy!

Well folks, look out for the upcoming pics of the flowering stage. Man, I am stoked!

I have the 330w with the ProBloom feature.
The only thing I can see that I do different is my light is turned so the heat sink openings are facing the front and rear of the door.

I don't close the grow tent door very often though and wish the fans were just a bit less noisy

Hey everyone!

I figured I would come back and show you how I am LST'ing these babies to control the height of my canopy. Every top and shoot has exploded with growth since I switched and I have to daily strap down more shoots. The point is for this method is to get the auxins in the tops of the shoots to distribute to other shoots. You tie down each shoot that starts to get higher than the rest and the other shoots that are unrestricted to grow upwards will begin to grow at a faster rate. Check it out. I hope this helps!

Updates!

Today officially marks 1 week since switching to 12/12. Check out these cool pics of the AK babies.

I was going to raise my EC levels but the plants were showing a slight nitrogen toxicity so I watered down the rez to 1.2 EC and when I change my rez in 5 days I won't be adding my cal/mag additive. That additive has a ratio 7-0.25-0.25 so that could be adding too much Nitrogen to my mix. I will follow up with that additive in roughly 2.5 weeks when I have to change the reservoir again.

I have my grow space dialed in right now. It is staying at 75F lights on and 65f lights off. Humidity is hanging around 50% but fluctuates to 40% and to 59%. Still feeding every 4 hours for 15 mins and once halfway through my dark cycle.

Good clean set up. Seems more like an lst w/a screen to me,not a jab did it a bunch w/ great results. Screen adds support to heavyweights better than wire ever did. Mines 20"*24" with 120 2" squares. One plant 9 weeks from cut.

Ya I was growing from seed and topped them because I didn't have a mother to cut clones from for the ScrOG. I guess I am doing a less traditional way. Thanks for the comment. Very much appreciated. The canopy is really thick right now. Do you think I should thin out some of the big leaves?

Try to leave what you can letting em catch up to each other got a lot more room than me in squares use it. If circulation is a concern wack under screen. I usually take my clones 2-3 weeks 12/12 removing that anyway. Excellent node spacing rapid growth from flowered clones.

I took off the bottom large the fan leaves under the screen that were not get light so that opened it up a bit. I have a clip fan underneath the screen and 2 fan window fan blowing over the top of canopy. Humidity is saying the high is 58% and low 48% throughout the day. My temps are 75F lights on and 65 lights off. I just hear that mold can be a bitch if the canopy gets thick.
