Here Annie grows again (3)

Yesterday I planted 3 seeds:
(1) John Sinclair Viper (sprouted!!),
(2) Ceres White Indica,
(3) Ceres Northern Light X Skunk (a gift for a friend and you know who you are)

Ok here we grow again. This is technically my 3rd grow. However I only have 2 harvests. 2012's summer harvest was lost due to thrips so we won't count that.

This year is the strain hunt. I'm planning on trying as many strains as I can to find the right couple strains I can switch between that will make me hurt less and a handful so I can swap them out and not build as much tolerance. I'm planning on Indicas (Sativas make me very paranoid and give me tachycardia).

I am putting a seedling/cloning station in one room This consists of a 2' 4 lamp T5
In the veg room I have a 4x4 tent with a 4' 12 lamp T5. I will be adding a fan and exhaust for this summer
In the flower room I have the entire room devoted with a 4x4 (internal) tray for the plants and currently a Magnum XXXL with a 1000 w HPS (Ushiro) lamp and a Galaxy 400/600/1000 supercharge ballast. A 24" Phresh filter and an 8" Max Can fan vented into the attic.

Currently my mothers are idling under my 1000 waiting for the new T5 to arrive. I've also got a new mini Turbocloner on the way. I'm going to do a test between the Turocloner and my home made turbo style cloner.

Here's the seeds I just planted from a 2011 Attitude promotion.

This is the little seed sprouter I use. It's sitting on a heating pad with a piece of styrofoam in between.

Here is the first sprout! Woo hoo, this is John Sinclair Viper Indica

This is the veg room tent. I have my home made cloner set up in it and I'm waiting for my 4' T5 and my new Turbocloner and I plan to run a test between my cloner and the Turbocloner

This is the flower room. Right now all my mothers, ready for cloning again, are idling along here and the last few clones that will soon be flowering

Here's how I scrub my air and cool my light. I vent it into the attic.

Here's an Aquilegia (Columbine), I started this last year and it's getting big enough to go into the garden in the spring. I also have my Kaffir lime tree under my big light and look at the fruit she's putting out. Her lime rinds and leaves are used in the food I like to cook. Like Pad Prik King and the lime skins are the base of many of the curries, mmmmmmm I love yellow curry with potatos, carrots and chicken yum! Great hobby.

Here are my seedlings.
Here they are just shy of 48 hours! I don't understand why people handle seedlings. I always seem to kill them and since they are usually up within a day or two it seems like overkill to me. The seedlings in this image you can see where the earliest one shot up and hit the humidity dome and fell over.

To fix the leggy seedling I topped up the cups with Sunshine Advanced Mix #4 and here they are a mere 24 hours later!

They are currently in my veg tent. Since I moved my veg plants to the flower room while waiting for my 12 lamp 4' T5 to arrive (hurry up Wednesday). They are under a humidome that keeps it around 68% and I'm using the 4 lamp 2' T5 to heat them. It's keeping the dome at a nice 78.

Sorry to hear about the thrips. Nice setup clean and tidy that's what I like to see :) The seedlings will be fine just a bit stretched.

Well like everyone else I've struggled with cloning, although I think my initial misspelling -- sloning is more honestly descriptive. So I finally broke down and purchased a Turbokloner to see if that would work better.

Today I loaded the Turbokloner. Wednesday (when my new T5 arrives), I'll load my homemade aerocloner. Here's the images. Here are the parts of the Turbokloner. I love the inserts. They are much nicer than the neoprene collars I got for my home made cloner. The manifold looks wimpy but every inch of the interior is covered!

This is the solution I'm mixing. The reservoir is 2 gallons and I added 2.5 ml/gallon of KLN & ProTekt (silicone).

Here's the cloner with the solution and the inserts in place.

I then started clipping the clones until filled.

The cloner added to my veg tent. Finally the clones with the Turbokloner running and the new seedlings nestled close.

Last night the 4' 12 lamp T5 arrived. I immediately put it up in the tent and today I set up my homemade cloner for the clone off. I changed the fluid from the Turbokloner. The clones in the Turbo are 2 days and the clones in my cloner were cut moments ago.

So here are the three babies I planted 1/8/2013. They are now exactly 12 days old and they are getting HUUUUGE! I'm amazed at how fast they are growing. I'd love to know what anyone thinks about the one on the far right. She seems to have an 'odd' pattern vs the even pattern on the other two.

Now to update the clone wars. The Turbokloner has roots or at least it's cuttings are getting them. You can see exactly why I find the TK easier to handle. See that lid with the clones. It can sit with the clones in it and I can carry the base over and empty it. I can't do that with the larger home made cloner. I have to keep an extra Rubbermaid container to sit the clones on while I change.

So far there are no roots on the home made cloner's cuttings, they are 4 days old, and 2 days behind the TK. But I'm shocked. I can't get over how it's only 6 days since I took clones and I already have roots! That is the fastest I've ever had clones take, woo hoo!! I love that Turbokloner.

Thank you Meta. I'm just amazed at the growth on those seedlings. When I think back to a year ago and my first grow wow this is a world different. Without all of you guys help and support over the last year I wouldn't be here.
Thank you!

I'm subbed, can't wait to see them in a few weeks :) I like your homemade cloner a lot I might try to make one of those myself.
