cannabis and commitment fighting cancer. a budding grow journal.

Hey guys. I met a Guy a few weeks back whom had just found out he had stage 3 cancer. He was at the hospital watching his wife give birth. As they headed for the door he fell unconscious prompting another week in the hospital. During that stay he was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer and informed that he will be blessed if he sees his new daughters first birthday.. His general demeanor and attitude toward life after hearing such news was he most incredible thing I've been lucky enough to witness. I remember him telling me he felt fine at the time but rectal cancer was "likely to he a pain in the ass" and his grin never strayed.

Anyways. Most don't know that I was raised by my grandfather for many years of my life and lost him to this very disease. Cancer and I have been at odds since. With his courage and spirit, my cannabis and commitment and a little help from a homeopathic happy naturopath we are making thus fight public. Faces and identities wont be revealed for obvious reasons but I'm hopeful this journal will not only document the amazing healing properties of cannabis but the will of man to survive as well as the amazing process that is growing. I will try and keep it largely focused on the plants themselves and if you don't wish to read about his progress that is fine. All are welcome just please be respectful and keep and feedback constructive and positive. this will be as much to keep himself and I motivated as it is to share the experience with anyone wishing to see it.

With that well get started with the setup.
I veg under a 600w lumatek digi and hortilux hps bulb aircooled in some cheap ass hood lol.
a homebox 4x4x7 tent.
Exhausted by a 6in inline fan.
I use advanced nutrients sensigrow a&b
Soil is a home mixed recipe. I wont write it all out but can if there's enough interest.. am planning on buying subcools new lineup if they ever are able to keep it in stock

Flower: we built the bloom room last year on a whim. It measures 8wx4dx8h.
Im using a eurosystems dual 600w ballast.
1magnumxxl 6" sealed aircooled Hood
1 yieldmaster2 6" sealed aircooled Hood.
Sensibloom a&b
Bushmasters
Gravity
Molasses
Botanicare silica blast & Cal mag
custom soil mix.

Strains: ATM I have Jack the ripper, a couple unknowns from a club that are far from impressing me. And two phenotypes of a personal.f3 hybrid of mendo purps x chemdawg sister. All are just about to week 3 of bloom. And week 6 since dropping their cotyledons. Ill post pics over the next few hours leading up to where they are now.

Other than that a friend took over the breeding for me when I shut down and currently have 4 f4 mendodawg seeds germinating. Hope everyone joins us as we kick cancers ass.

OK. Gonna be a slow process as photobuckets being slow.

I started the plants oct27th. I breed reptiles so as a benefit I have an enourmous incubator. So using the paper towel method I put them into an 83 degree 85% humidity incubator. 24hrs later they had long taproots and went into rapid rooter plugs and were moved under a t5. After two days they went into the veg tent and got their first pics.

The plants took off fast. After just 3 days above ground some are working on their 2nd-4th nodeset. Could be faster but I wont complain at all.

Ill try and get caught up in one post nd try keeping the pictures in order timewise. The last ones will be the ones taken yesterday. No promises on the ones leading up lol.

Beginning of week three bloom. Ill label the ones I can but nor sure if I can do so accurately. But I will in all future updates.
Jtr.

Mendawg

These are the rest. Labeling and sittings taking too long lol

And were up to date. Sorry if you have slow internet lol.

Typically I use lst and prune much more. Much in line with the mainlining thread I suppose. But started this grow on a whim wih no intentions other than continuing to stabilize mendawg. After meeting this Guy plans kinda changed so I wont be breeding for a while. But I can't think.of a better reason to backburner this project. Next round will be much prettier. With better pics to boot. All I need is someone in here reminding me to update and keeping me focused lol.

Good luck to you. Might I suggest getting something high in CBD as well. I think you want to attack cancer with all cannabinoids possible in very high doses. CBD, as far as I've researched, also seems to be more effective against cancer.

About that you are correct. I am heading south in a few days to a reputable club and picking up a couple high.cbd strains. I have high expectations of the mendawg in that respect. Very heavy indica leaning on one pheno. Wont know for a bit but ill be sending all in for analysis regardless so there will be potency ratings posted every 2-3 months as well. The JTR is a pita IMO. Great smoke and all but a pain to make Co exist without special attention. But its the patients favorite tasting smoke so he insisted. The rest seem pretty indica dominant which inherently produces more cbd and cbn than sativa. The mendawg should be a bonafide cancer slayer given the lineage and potential cannabinoid complex.

thought I would post this - unsure how many people have seen this great video:

keep up the good work, I'm subbed to this one. love to see people who are truly using this plant for medicine, unlike most "compassionate caregivers" or what have you nowadays that sell cheap chemical bud full of pesticides just to make a profit and could care less about the medicinal values of cannabis. one love. sending good vibes

Gonna take a quick second and wish a happy birthday to my grandfather. We lost him 10 years ago to stage 3 cancer. He lived 5 years beyond anyone's wildest dreams all the while risking prosecution to have sensible access to truly beneficial medicine. He was one of he largest inspirations ill ever have and I live my life in only the way I feel would make him proud. Here's my hero. My Superman.. my grandpa. Miss you more everyday old man.. this buds for you. :joint:

Not much change over the last day and a half as ud expect lol. But I mislabeled a few yesterday so ill take a second to get it right.

Mendawg -heavy indica and hardly stretched (I'd also like to point out again. This started with the intention of continuing breeding so training nor bushmaster were used this round. Wanted to see the natural growth. A few were topped tho)

#2:

Chemdocino purps- insanely chemdawg dominant. The f2 had fruity undertones and slight purple hues nearing flush. Baring slightly rounded looking buds that reaked of a musky chemdawg being grown in a fruit patch. I'm excited to see what kinda fruit she puts off hus round. Stretches quite a bit. Just shy of doubled her size through stretch.

#2:

Random shots of em. Not sure which is which.

Jtr. I mistakenly labeled one of the above as jtr yesterday. What's there to say about it? Lemon lol. TGA is always sure fire. I'm finding a small amount of issue in balancing her high demands without special feeding however. I find her wanting while the other are generally low maintenance plants. Pleasure to grow and an outstanding smoke just not the most ideal fit for a multi strain perpetual grow. Nothing that'd keep me from cracking more seeds.

Just got done tying down the next round. Hoping to cone across some teens between these and the ladies in flower. The ones at the club didn't look very clean so I passed.

:) should have some random freebies above ground by the end of tomorrow. They're out of my chemdawg drawer so they're likely alphakronik or the like. Excited to see what we got.
