Blue Mystic, House & Garden, 600 Watt sealed room grow

Time to get this journal started. I finished my grow room out a few days ago and started germinating some feminized AK48 and Blue Mystic seeds from Nirvana. The seeds came less than 5 days after I ordered them. Props to Nirvana.

Here are some pics of my grow room.

I used the tired and true wet paper towel method and all my seeds germinated in less than 48 hours.

I used rapid rooter plugs soaked in 6.0 PH water. I also added some bacto mix that came with a germination kit from Nirvana.






Now we wait until they sprout!

After just 24 hours I have a sprout! Three others have started to poke their heads out as well. The first to sprout was one of the AK48 seeds.



Once these guys get some roots, I'll be placing them in my aeroponics system I built based on Stinkbuds design. I'll be using House and Garden as my primary nutrient in my feed recipe.



I will also be using these supplements in combination with House and Garden as well.

Day Three:

Well my little babies seemed to be stretching a little so I decided to move them into my flowering room with a 600 watt MH light. I also added a humidifier to keep the room between 50-60% RH.

One of my AK48's had a pretty decent sized root despite the fact that it hasn't even completely shed it's seed shell yet. I decided to sacrifice it and experiment to see if it would survive a transplant so early. The plan is to plant 1 of both the AK48 and Blue Mystic into soil for a mother plant. I have two spots in my aeroponic unit for each type. So that leaves me with 2 seedlings of each type I can experiment with.

Surgery was successful and I was able to remove the plant without incident from the rapid rooter plug.








I added 10 gallons of RO water to my reservoir and used the following nutrients.

6.5ml of H&G Aqua Flakes A&B (25% of my feed chart)
10ml of H&G Roots Excelurator
5ml of H&G Drip Clean
5ml of H&G Algen Extract
50ml of Cal-Mag
5ml of Silica Blast
5ml of B-1

After setting up, this was the end result..

you seem to have everything in order...subbed.oh and blue mystic is a strain i really like,ive grown it before and was very happy with it.

Thanks! Looking forward to trying it. I also have some Full Moon seeds that I plan on growing after this.

Well here is a 5 day update since germination.

I have 2 of the best seedlings from both strains in my aeroponics system now. I also planted one of each in soil for my mother plant. You can really tell the difference in growth between the two from soil to aeroponics.

My Blue Mystic seem to be loving my nutrient solution but it seems to be just a tad bit hot for the AK48. I'll keep watching it and see if they will get adjusted to it. The AK48's roots are growing like mad crazy compared to the BM.

My PH with RO water and nutrient recipe seems to be extremely stable. I've only had to add a few drops of PH down since I started. I had to add 1 gallon of RO water yesterday as my PPM's were getting around 330-340. As soon as the plants fully develop their second set of leaves I'll bump the nutrients up.

Well here are some pictures of the future mother plants. I have them in Foxfarms Ocean Forest, using just tap water and 20/4 lights.





Here are some pics of the ones in the aeroponics. I've been maintaing 75 degrees and 60% humidity, but I set everything to run at 85 degrees and 50% humidity tonight and turned on the C02.

Got the mood lighting on.. very relaxing.

Bad news I'm afraid, I had an unforeseen family issue tonight that risked exposing my grow. I had to pull the plug for now.

I ordered some more Blue Mystic from Nirvana. I had to end my last grow due to a family matter. I decided to proceed forward with Blue Mystic only as it seemed that they responded better to my nutrient regime than the AK48. So once I get my seeds, I'll get started again but this time it will be all Blue Mystic.

Okay, got everything back on track. I just finished germinating some more Blue Mystic. I did not have any more AK48 seeds, so this is now an all Blue Mystic grow.

This is pretty much day one again, the plants were transplanted today into the aeroponics.

Day two, I swapped out one of the seedlings in the aeroponics as the roots were not forming like the others. I have 3 more seedlings in rapid rooters I may move to soil. The new transplant is already doing better than the one I took out.

I picked up a 1/10th chiller as my rez temps were getting up to 80 degrees. Light does penetrate my rez so I don't want to be dealing with no funky algae. I also added a CAP Humidity controller for my humidifier and took it off the timer. I was exhausting too much on the timer. Now with my setup I'm maintaining perfect humidity without exhausting my CO2.

Right now I'm maintaining 80-85 degrees, 55%-65% humidity, 1500 PPM CO2, 6.0-6.2 PH, 62 Degree Rez and 300-400 PPM nutrients.

Day 5, I changed the reservoir today and double checked the calibration on the tri-meter. I bumped up the Aquaflakes A&B from 6.25ml to 10ml and the Cal-Mag from 25ml to 60ml, everything else remained the same. I put my two remaining seedlings into some Foxfarm soil. I'll probably give one away as a Christmas present and keep one for a mother plant.

Edit: (12-24) I added two additional gallons of RO water bringing the PPM down to 350 from 400. I was starting to get some tip burning on my largest plant.

Day 6, I started showing signs of leaf curling and some very slight tip burn after increasing my nutrient solution. I have now brought my PPM's down to 320, reduced my room temp from 80-85 to 75-80 and switched from a 24/0 light cycle to a 20/4 cycle. Hopefully that will make them happy again. Once they get a little stronger I will bump everything back up again. I guess I'm trying to push them to hard. Growth has been very exceptional despite the slight problems.

Merry X-Mas

Week 1, Day 1, the plants are still recovering from nutrient burn. I'm out of RO water so I need to run to the store, my PPM's have crept back up to 350 and I need to get them down around 300-320. The roots have really taken off the last few days and my largest plant is still growing faster than the rest. I will probably narrow my grow down to the two best plants as I'm planning on doing a SCROG.

I will also start foliar feeding this week at some point.

Current stats are; 20/4 lights, room temp 80-85 day and 65-70 night, humidity 50-60%, CO2 1500 ppm, nutrients 300-350 ppm.

Built a new Aeroponics system today to replace the one I am currently using. I have found Stinkbuds design to be a PITA to maintain in a small room. I should have everything up and running with the new system tomorrow.

Im subbed, That must have sucked having to start over, paid 300$ for my seeds so I cant imagine how I would feel if I had to "pull the plug". guess its good that it was only into the first week and not further along in the grow. These are feminized seeds your working with?

Yeah, I'm using feminized seeds since I'm planning on probably doing a SCROG. I had enough Blue Mystic seeds to start a new grow but I used all my AK48 in the first run. I also have some Full Moon seeds. I'm not sure I'm ready to grow a pure sativa yet as they take forever. I've been getting my seeds from Nirvana and have been very pleased so far.

Week 1, Day 3, I've got the new system up and running. I was worried that putting the chiller in the same room as the grow would give me heat problems, but so far it hasn't been a problem. I plan on putting it back in the other room once I get some more 1/2 hose.

I also decided to change up my nutrient regime. I am now using just the H&G products. The additional supplements were really leaving some heavy build up. I'm currently running 320-350 PPM and the plants seem to finally be happy.

I didn't use any plans. I just sorta designed it myself in my head with some trial and error. It was something I came up with because I found several things about the Stinkbud design I didn't like. First off, the rez was open in the Stinkbud unit. That was causing me problems with humidity as well as potential problems with keeping the rez clean and growing algae. Next was maintenance. It was just simply to complicated to conduct any maintance on the unit in my specific setup.

I wanted something that was completely sealed, easy to maintain and was more compact. So far it seems to be working very well. My plants really have perked up.

Anyways, it's basically a 2X2 Bontanicare tray and lid with a 20 gallon rez. The tray just sits on top on the rez with a Ebb and Flow style drain fitting draining into the rez. I'm using a 1200 GPH pump and EZ clone nozzles.
