Dman's first grow...ChemDog, Super Lemon Haze, Super Silver, Sour AK

I originally started out in the newb forum but decided to make a journal now that I'm a little more confident. Doing a medical grow in Michigan using Humbolt Nutrients organic soil. Started germinating on 6/23:

Soaked the feminized ChemDog (GreenHouse) and NY47(World of Seeds Legends) seeds for 24 hours and placed them directly in the moistened soil and they sprouted on 6/26. So far so good:

Then I placed them under 2 T12 40watt flouros on 6/26:

So I left them be because I read somewhere on Rollitup that it is better to not water for a week to 10 days after germination so that the roots would grow deep seeking water at the bottom of the pot. Seemed to work. One issue I had was that the light wasn't close enought to the plants and they stretched:

Nusky advised that bury them up to the cotyledons so I did. A nice thread on this can be found here: https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/429767-replant-those-long-stretchy-stems.html

So then my 1000W light showed up. I chose this one http://www.virtualsunhydroponics.com/Agricultural/products/VSD1000WDS.asp?rt=2 because it seemed to be the best value with the most versatillitiy. I also picked up a fan http://www.mavericksun.com/the-wind-god/ with a true 500 cfm rating. Here are some pics of the setup I installed on 7/10:

At this point my noobness reared its ugly head and I made a couple of mistakes:
I started fertillizing with General Organics Go kit. Would have been better to wait since the pre-mixed Humbolt soil had plenty of nutes in it already. Also, I cranked up my new light all the way to 1000W and here's what happened:

I guess a little heat burn is no big deal once I lowered the lights to 500W for a week and also raised the light a foot. If you can afford it, I suggest getting a dimmable ballast. It's nice having a range of wattage depending on the age/needs of your plants.

On 7/14 I also added (5) Fem Super Lemon Haze and (1) Fem Super Silver from Dinafem that I sprouted from seed:

At this point they are all still on a 24/0 cycle mostly because I wasn't fully able to seal my room off from outside light. One week under a 1000W light and these girls have gone wild:

A week later, I decided to FIM them help them bush out some:

...And they loved it:

Last week I switched to an 18/6 light schedule. Next watering, I will begin fertillizing once per week, starting at 25% and increasing it gradually until 100%. My room keeps a consistant 78 F and ~60% humidity so that seems ok. At the rate they are growing, I will probably switch to 12/12 in about a month. My next purchase will be a light mover which will be necessary once these girls get bigger.

I switched to 12/12 hps light yesterday now that all of the girls are around 30" tall. I topped the ChemDogs so that the Super Lemon Hazes would get a chance to catch up. Seems to have worked. Also the SLH plants are in Roots Organic soil which is a mix of coco and a bunch of other organic stuff and seem to really love the stuff! The SLH plants are clearly healthier and happier and have given very few ph problems. Here are the newest pics:

Here are the updated pics (2 1/2 weeks of flower). Had a few problems with ph and nute lockout on 3 of the girls but I ph balanced all of em this morning.

At day 57 of 12/12 now. Super Lemon Haze are in their final week of flower. Most of the trich's have gone hazy and some are turning amber. Can't wait, but I will:

Chemdog, New York 47, and Super Silver have at least a week to 10 days I think:
