Kandy Kush Waterfarm 400watt Hps

Hello Growers!
Some of you may recognise my set up. That is because I am badgerbadgers missis and we do the same set up. For full details on my set up please check out his grow journal: https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/397902-2nd-grow-dinafem-critical-soil.html.

All our projects have been both of us but dominated by badgerbadger (who is also my teacher- lucky me!) and this is my first solo grow and first grow diary! So bear with me if I leave out essential info! If you let me know I will do my best to clear things up and any tips/advice are very welcome.

So to business:

Well, I have been vegging my Kandy Kush for 5 weeks.
For the first four weeks she was in the veg room under a 250watt hps lamp. For this last week however she has been vegging in the flowering room under a 400watt hps lamp to get her used to the scrog (you can see in some of my pics that it looks scraggy in my scrog because I just did a reshuffle today and she is settling into the new idea.)
She went over to 12/12 last night and this is the first day of flowering.

I am using the lucas formula for nutes.
Up to this point today I have had her on FloraNova nutes and building the ppm up to 1100.
So yesterday BEFORE the flush the nutes went as this:
Grow: 15ml per 5 litre
Micro: 6ml per 5 litre
Bloom: 3-4ml per 5 litre.

Now however for the flowering I am switching her to simply Bloom and Micro. (I will add a bit more grow later in the budding stage for 1 week but we'll get to that when we get to that!)
So now she is on
Micro: 10ml per 5 litre
Bloom 20ml per 5 litre.
Just so you know my res IS an 8 litre but the bottles I fill up are 5 litre bottles. I just adjust my nutes accordingly. I am aiming to keep it at 1100 ppm going up to a max of about 1300/1400ppm by the end.

NICE SET UP MAN ive been longing to scrog it out like you lol but for a different grow lol they are so lush and thick I love em...almost as bad ass as your pic lol ill have many questions for you come time I pull off a SCROG that must be a bitch trying to cut that outa the screen when harvest time comes huh lol SUBSCRIBED BRO ++++REP for you man will be following closely

Any help I can give scrog wise I will- this is my second scrog and I learned LOADS on how NOT to do it last time! I love playing with the scrog at this stage too watching all the nodes appear out from underneath and weaving and stuff- don't self medicate before playing with the scrog tho man- I get waaay too absorbed! lol

Thanks glad to be able to watch this scrog lmao ya it would prolly be best to do it sober huh lol id prolly get myself intangled in it all medicated and shit lol whats it like getting it out of the screen??is it tuff?

Actually surprisingly easy! when you have all your nodes where you want them let them grow up about 6/7inches above the scrog so that when you come to cutting its not hard at all. I just tend to go bud at a time and trim as I go, as long as you are organised and don't just leap at your favorite buds then it all makes perfect sense when you harvest!

UPDATE DAY 1 12/12

So I just checked my res and my ppm was down to 700-900ppm. I have adjusted it and all is well. I also added 6ml of liquid silicon to help promote cell growth etc...
So my new and improved nute regime at the moment is
Micro: 15ml per 5 litre
Bloom a whopping 30ml per 5 litres.
With the liquid silicon the bottle suggests that you do 1ml per litre of your res, but I find this is a bit high and generaly remove 2mls from the total- 8litre res= 6ml silicon. nice and easy! I wont be adding silicon every time I add nutes but its useful to know!

Had my eyes on the Kandy Kush so will love to see how this turns out!

Swing on by my thread, i took it a bit too far and squeezed in 2 waterfarms and 4 soil in a space a tad bit bigger than yours.
Full of buddage now! Cant wait!

Hmmmm gotta love that Kandy Kush..get ready for some stretch from that Broad, but its a good stretch that gets bulky and smokes so

@TDooda, will def check out your strain... you got some serious growth there buddy! How do you find it in the scrog with all that growing? I would start getting confused about whats what but I am a very basic beast!
@lilmiggy2009 cheers man! I still get troubled by the size of the cab I'm growing in though, esp with this Kandy, 3 days into flower and she has reached the edge of my scrog already! the critical had a nice broder of crog all around her to the finish but this beast- daaamn!

@londonfog I am loving her already its going to be a tough call when I come down to deciding which pheno I go with overall, esp cos I just went on the tude for that big promo and have some seriously bangin lookin seeds- Mohan Ram and Cream Caramel along with ALL the free that they sent!
I must say so far in terms of space I'm finding the KK a bit overwhelming but as you say, it is a wicked strain- nice to know its bulky- thats what I like to hear!
The critical+ I grew before this is a face melter of a strain but the buds don't get very big, I did think maybe I could have gone another week on that plant and got some more filling out but I had started flushing so gave her 36 hours dark and couldnt really go back on such decisive actions! Well its all part of the learning curve innit! I know with miss Kandy I am gong to wait that extra week when I think she's ready, seems to be worth it!
blimey Im rambling. I will stop now!

Nothing to report really:
have been messing about with the scrog and looking at the underside I think tomorrow when I play the nutes game I will trim it back some more as well.

on another note: My ak/nyc diesel autos are sturdy little seedlings now and if I can be bothered I might put up a journal of how to grow 4 plants in 1 waterfarm, because they are autos they shouldnt get massive and not cause me loads of grief! (hope hope!)


Some pics of Kandy Kush and a couple of whats going on above the light. Shes looking a tad uneven in the scrog at the back because I am waiting a couple of days for the outer nodes to get bigger so I can start weaving those tall ones at the back.

I LOVE my waterfarm, I can't recommend it enough, from now on the only time I will use soil is for mother plants! I see you have a journal there, I will have a look see!

OH ME OH MY I AM A TWAT!
So I was doing quite a savage cut back below my scrog to allow it to breathe and focus on what is going on above the scrog, all was going well I had got quite far and was reorganising topside when I put too much pressure on my baby and snapped one of the branches right at the stalk I have stopped all snipping operations until she has had a chance to recover. So I am holding it together with a cable tie atm! lol! On my first grow ever I snapped the main stalk and held it together with duct tape and the buds on that branch were massive so fingers crossed ey.

There isnt much you can do when that happens except feel like an absolute jebbend and hope for the best so thats what I'm doing.

In other news, nutes are at about 900ppm today and the scrog has had some rearrangement so looks a bit scraggy again but will hopefully look REAL good in a couple of days. I'm hoping that now there is no foliage beneath the scrog the plant can put some real effort in up top and into its nasty gash. will keep updating on her health re this problem.

oi.. i vegged my kandy kush freebie from attitude out for 6+ weeks, and put it on 12/12 - well the plant is now 5+ feet tall and i broke the top stem where the top cola would form trying to pinch and fold it down away from the light. - sucks! but there is still plenty of bud sites left

nice she healded up quite nicely i must say SCROGS LOOKING THE SHIT in a good way of course lol
