Hi all! i'm new to this forum (ex-grasscity) and i've had about 3 grows under my belt in the past two years, all unfortunately have been rather unsuccessful but im addicted to growing what can i say. I know what i'm doing i've just had grows confiscated and run into some bad luck here and there.
This go around i hope to change my poor record, i bought i nice box off of http://growrelentless.com and thus far it's worked out nicely for me. At the moment i've got ten 4.5in pots with:

(in order from oldest to youngins)
1 DNA Fem Sour Kush (planted on mar. 4th)
1 Dinafem Fem Cali Hash Plant (planted on mar. 9th)
7 Nirvana Aurora Indicas (5 planted on mar. 10th, 2 germin)
1 Serious Seeds Fem Chronic (planted on mar. 14th)

So you can see im goin for the indica side of things as im doing 12/12 from seed and hopin to harvest sum nugget for the summer and quickly. This is a true 12/12 from seed no veg time at all cuz you will see in the pictures my vertical space is limited. The soil im rockin is a combination of MG organic potting soil and sphagnum moss. All you MG haters can say what you want but i drove 45min. away to try and find other options but it was impossible so i threw some sphagnum moss in there to help with soil compaction and water retention, get at me. ummmm so yea it should be fun i'll try and update the best i can, the pics are i little poor cuz of the HPS light but i'm doin what i can

Sub'd.

I've got a bunch of Dinafem freebies from recent Attitude orders. I'm curious to see how they work out for you.

I used MG + peat moss (+ some composted manure, usually) for years and grew some pretty tasty herb, if I do say so myself

Aight so i felt like a dick takin shitty pics for mah first post so i pulled summa those babies outta there and snapped pics in regular light :-P

anywho lemme lay out my basic plan for anyone that cares, i figure like around a 1/4 per plant (7 grams for you geniuses out there) however seeing as they are not all sexed heres some math (my estimates)

3 Fem'd plants x 7gs = 21gs off the bat

7 regular plants so im hoping for 4 babes outta them (they say 12/12 yields a higher female ratio)

4 Aurora Indica babes x 7gs + 21gs (the fems) = 49 grams hopefully

So basically i'll be happy with an oz. (28gs), im hoping for 50gs, and my highest goal would be two ozs (56gs)

All of this should be happenin around the end of may which is around 70-80 days and for those of you wondering why this is like the ultimate indica line-up #1 they flower fast #2 they dont stretch much and #3 im lookin for big dank single cola plants and minimal branching

hey xebeche glad to have you along, yea im not too worried about the soil especially cuz the plants aren't in there for too long, hahaha sweet location by tha way mah brutha

wuttup doc, yea i was looking for a 100% indica strain and almost went with Ceres Seed's Kush but I knew that nirvana was a trusted breeder so i went with that instead (Aurora Indica) i also decided to go un-femmed for those cuz i hope to make some seeds and possibly make it a perpetual harvest cab but i dont wana look too far ahead:bigjoint:

by the way on a ventilation note:
im running two 120mm case fans (1 intake, 1 exhaust) and i sit right around 85-90F in there but my humidity is low due to the small space and constant ventilation and it sits at around 16%

I've seen a number of 12/12 from seed grows, but they've usually been with sativa-dominant hybrids. I was under the impression that indicas usually require at least a few weeks of veg before going to 12/12, but I could be wrong. I guess you'll find out soon enough.

I couldn't tell from the pics: What's the height of that box? Is that tray on a shelf? And, if so, will you be lowering it to the bottom when the plants get bigger? I'm just trying a get a feel for how much vertical space you have to work with.

Anyways, let's hope you don't run into any unanticipated "complications" this time around.

Also, I usually add perlite to help with soil compaction...but yeah, you're right, 70-80 days isn't very long, so I doubt it'll be a problem That MG organic soil is pretty good stuff. I used the really cheap MG potting soil and regular MG fertilizer (yep, the blue granular stuff) for my first two grows and it worked out just fine.

What type of nutes will you be using for this grow?

well maybe your right, who knows i guess im already too far into it :p
Dimensions: 28"x16"x23"
and yea that tray is currently sitting on a shelf until they all get to around their second leaf sets, just to control the stretching a bit. My hash plant stretched a tonnn you can see it in the pictures and that happened because a piece of foam light seal fell on it right as it had popped so it stressed out a bit but i dont think its too much of a worry.

for nutes i have general hydroponics organic veg solution and flora nova bloom

A few things i've been thinkin about:
I might try to find some unsulphered molasses for the end of the grow (if i get there) but i don't know if i will find it locally

And ive really been thinking about two of these: Petco T5 UVB Fixture i've read that trichomes occur as a 'sunblock' for the leaves and UVB could possibly greatly increase their amounts, however i do not know the light schedule i would put them on or where i wud place them in the box in relation to the plants

okay a mini update

first off, i changed the first post to add the dates planted (give a day or two if your looking or date sprouted)

next, two of my aurora indicas did not sprout:wall: but no matter two more are germing currently and i'll update that first post with their dates as stuff happens

also, i planted my Serious Seeds Chronic seed which i was reluctant to use because i only had one but hey you gotta live life while ya got it and i pray it sprouts

finally, i snapped 3 pictures one of the whole box(it cuts one AI sprout off thts to the right) and two of either side, again i apologize for the hps wavelines and ill do a bigger update as soon as all ten spaces of my box are vacated:weed:

the only problem i've come to face thus far is i did not anticipate such a staggered array of planting times and my Sour Kush is soon going to have to be lowered although all other plants in the tray are thriving at that height but i'll figure it out once im not so lit

comeeeeeee on spring you need to get sprung so i can give guerilla outdoor a try i hope everyone is having a kick ass time doing whatever they do

to the rim of the pots i'd say 10in.
to the top of the SK and CHP i'd go with like 6in. which i know is really close for an hps light but i've done the hand check and theres no sign of heat stress but it's damn close

Right. My 600watt HPS 6" Air cooled hood is about 5-6 inches above the canopy of my tallest plant. No signs of stress. Hand test feels okay to me.

1 DNA Fem Sour Kush- Day 12
1 Dinafem Fem Cali Hash Plant- Day 7
5 Nirvana Aurora Indicas- Day 6
1 Serious Seeds Fem Chronic- Day 2
2 Nirvana Aurora Indicas- Planted Mar. 16

butttt i think one of them is guna die cuz i by accidentally broke the root tip when i was putting it in the soil  so i started germing another one right off the bat and even if the other one survives which is doubtful, ill just put this one in a party cup and experiment with it

hope everyone is bongsmilie and

Okay all spots are filled and alive:cool:
This is guna be a nice big post so i'll try to spice it up the best i can!

Pictures:
Theres a picture of each plant individually except theres three of the sour kush just because it's the only interestin one at this point. Theres also pics of the whole box, left side, and right side

Plants:
1 DNA Fem Sour Kush- Day 15
1 Dinafem Fem Cali Hash Plant- Day 10
5 Nirvana Aurora Indicas- Day 9
1 Serious Seeds Fem Chronic- Day 5
2 Nirvana Aurora Indicas- Day 3

It turns out both AI seedlings survived even though i broke one of their root tips and that was pretty swell, the hash plant is mega stretched out and looks kinda weird but im hoping it will work out, the chronic seed is also a mutant i think becuz it's leaves are very strange looking and i thought about killing it but because of the genetics and the fact that it's feminized i'll just cross my fingers

News:
I just bought a pH pen off ebay and its working nicely and the water i'm using comes in at around 6.8, i've yet to test the runoof but will update with that for the next post and we will see what this MG organic will give me for pH.
As i was updating the adaptor that runs my 2 fans broke:wall: so i rigged up a bootleg fan blowing over the top of the plants until i can sort that out

Aight so first things first i rewired both fans and they are both in business which is suhweet. But the bootleg fan i had set up as a substitute is actually pretty beneficial so imma keep it in there until the plants get too big for it.
I also hit up petco and snagged a 10.0 uvb(26w) reptisun bulb that i set up in the box but am not going to use it until the SK starts flowering which should be in like 3 weeks.

I attached pictures of the box currently so you can see the fan and the bulb:leaf:

My question is: because i'm limited as far as vertical space i can only place the uvb bulb so much higher than the plants, i don't want to cause uvb burn on the plants obviously so im not sure if i should put the uvb on full 12/12 cycle or just turn it on for 10-20 min at a time here and there once the plants start to bud, does anyone know how susceptible plants are to uvb burn or suggested cycles for uvb?

Edit: i'm using pure blend pro grow as nutes right now and i just fed them all a very light dose

soo as for the update on pH, thank god i got this digital pen cuz i was sitting right around 8.1 out of the MG soil runoff. That was not ok obviously so i mixed up a batch of 1 1/2 teaspoon pure blend pro grow and about a 1/2 teaspoon of lime juice to bring down the pH. I watered the kids with that mix and im now at around 6.2 pH. Now I know 6.5-7.0 is ideal however the tap water i use is around 6.8 so i figure next watering should dial them all in
