only one of those 9 sc you see in the pic made it : (...they were doin so well but about a week after that pic i made the mistake of bootin up the hps and fried them in literally hours...oh well...have one left

update, all seeds planted are poking through the soil, this grow will now be only cfl. currently there is 4 26 wt on them but the hps test run didnt go so well. temps skyrocked to nearly 95 deg. cfl are maintaining a steady 78. will purchase at least 4 more cfl, maybe 6...any advice?

The CFL experts on here like Garden Knowm (am I spelling his name right?) will tell you that when it comes to CFLs you can never have enough. Light input is directly correlated with yield output, and there are rarely heat problems associated with CFLs so the general consensus is to go nuts.

You have a nice clean looking setup going. Keep up the effort and the diligent research and nature will reward you :)

Also I see you mentioned spectrums of CFLs. While it's good to have a mix of both throughout the entire grow your plant will mostly use the 2700k spectrum while it's flowering. Your plants will love the 5600k spectrum while they're vegging out.

wish i read ur post before my trip to lowes today : (...haha....well i have 4 high spectrum and 4 low spectrum 26 wt on them now so twice the power before.
Just realized last night that the lights i was using since seedlings were low spectrum flowering 3000k lights so i guess ill attribute by low height and stumpiness to this. Might buy one more 6500k, switch to 5 high 3 low...then vise versa when flowering ...cfls are pretty inexpensive plus i have extra 3000k now.

closet shot is to show its stealthiness hahaha...(roomate in other room cant find out)...dont think i need the 4ft' of height now that i am using cfls but it can't hurt...plan on lst the strawberry cough so all plants will be lowww

next lil project will be to make a deflector so i stop wasting all that light going up ...anyone got any how to build threads for a starting point?

does anyone know the relative smell of the autoflower short strains?...i have a carbon filter but still was wondering if smell will be a issue later in flowering....haha...hopefully ill get that far!

the sc is lookin great under the new lights but problems with the seedlings have arose. The haze has very dark leaves...over watering a seedling?...and the auto road runner...well...his head fell off..i awoke to find the seed on the ground with its leaves inside with just the stem sticking up. The good news is it has a tiny set of 1st leaves....is it possible this seedling will survive without its cotyledons? The auto white russians are taking their sweet ass time but one is beginning to poke through. In leu of the situation there is 3 more seeds that just went into germination. one more road runner and 2 more white russians. Im starting to get really pissed that i killed all my strawberry coughs with that light. I had 9 healthy seedlings!!! now its trouble just getting 3 or 4

update... 10 26 wt cfls. 3 auto white russians, 2 road runners, 1 auto haze and 1 strawberry cough...sprouted with leaves...ladies and gentleman, lets do this!

pull up a seat...this is goin to get good...plants are responding well to the new abundance of light, pics will be posted soon. Its like i gave them roids!

First few pics is the new lighting setup- 10 26 wt cfl with added reflector. This is it for lights, hopefully it will be enough. The sc is lookin real good despite the fact it has zero room for leaves to grow...Why are the nodes so close and bunched?..The plant seems cramped...otherwise very healthy..Gave it half strength nutes last night. Seedlings are comin along but some are a little delayed due to over watering :finger: whoops. Advice on gettin the strawberry cough to grow out a little?...notice the split at the base of the stem, this thing is growing fast i just dont know if i cant keep up with the leaf growth ...raise the lights?
