Crossed strains 400W HPS 2 person cabinet grow

75% RH this late in flowering is asking for mold in my book.
Add a lot of venting to lower it.
Thats probably very true. Question is just what can I really do against it? The cab itself is vented very well, opening windows to air out the room will lower room temperature to 50F...

@Mcfonz: We have a nice little fan in there doing a great job. I asked an expert today (makers of our filter) and they said rice wouldnt do anything. He suggested a construction where we vent the air out the window and described the best way to built it. We might be doing it in a few days.

@shadetree: Were hoping it will reach the 200g mark.

Thats 0,5g per watt. Some people manage more but I think most grows with 400w yield less. 200g is what we would be happy with, its possible that it could be more.
Just finished reading your grow, I love your style and how your doing it. Those yields are very impressive, you have about double the space that I do though so I dont think I can keep up with those results. However, our cab is pretty full of 30cm colas so I dont think well be disappointed in the end.

the grow in my sig is from the beginning of the year.

My current space is MUCH MUCH smaller (120cm wide, 58cm deep and 100cm high) x2 chambers. I rock 400W in one and 600W in the other. My aim is 450g per grow.
I'm running organic this time so yields are probably going to be lower and I'm testing a lot of strains. I also went 12\12 from seed so I aim for 300g this run but I got some more plants in between that should finish 3-4 weeks later.

Except 2 summer grows that were kept over 45°C all the time and turned to shit I always got AT LEAST 275g rocking the 400W.

0.5 gpw is nothing to write home about.
With no training, very simple soil mix (soil, compost, perlite) and giving straight water all the way you should be able to score 0.5gpw.

Aim high, thats the only way to improve.

I'll go start a journal on my current grow, check my sig in a few hours.

Im only guessing, i havnt grown with HPS before and from looking at other grows they mostly dont reach the 0.5g/w. But looking at your grows, Im more optimistic now

Update Week 9 flowering

Several things, Ill try to keep them short:
-I went to a cannabis convention and among lots of other freebies we got three different nute sample sets, each one twice so a total of 6 nute sets. These should last us for maybe 6 grows so were besically set for a few years.

-We started having some of those small gnats (flys), we hung up some sticky paper and they are now mostly gone. An expert at the convention said we dont really need to worry much about them this late in the grow.

-I got a nice magnifying glass at the convention with 80-100x magnification. I havnt seen any amber on the plants, but most are milky.

-Three plants are being watered with molasses, at least one of them should be partially done in under 2 weeks. Overall all the plants are looking nice.

You can see the sticky tape hanging down the miiddle---------------Purple Bud turning slightly purple

-Last of all, a small bud below the canopy had budrot. I cut it off and tomorrow we will probably reroute the air exhoust out the window to reduce humidity.

you have around 2-3 weeks left.
if you've already found budmold in such advance stage search for it all over your grow!

its a REAL shame to lose a crop for that shit. but losing a lung over smoking it is even shittier.

I agree with the 2-3 weeks, it really depends on which plant though.
I did look around for more mold, will look closer again tomorrow when we fix the venting.

Today we rerouted the exhaust out the window. Humidity has gone down from 75 to 65% so far.
On a related note, i went through all the buds and removed a few grams with mold on it. Hard to say if its all gone though, cant see every angle of every bud in the screen.

Wow... Those are some big colas for a 400w! I would agree with everyone on the humidity. You're asking for major problems if you don't get it down ASAP. At 75% there's a huge chance that the center of those bud's will develop rot and you'll never even know. These stuff called Damp Rid that absorbs moisture out of the air and works like a charm. It comes in large tubs that cost $10 and you can find them at any Home Depot. I use them in my drying space to keep the humidity down. I'd try and get that humidity down below 50% for a week to give them a chance to dry out. I'd hate to see you lose any of that beautiful harvest!

Very good advice and a great grow for just 400w.

Thanks for the advice. Weve actually managed to get the humidity under 60% after rerouting the air out the window. Week 10 will start tomorrow and weve decided to pull two plants on friday. Both are the purple bud strain, although it seems like they were both pollinated by different strains because one is more purple and dense whereas the other is green and the most airy bud of them all. Anyway heres some preview pics of the two plants.

Greener, more airy purple bud plant ____________________ More purple, dense purple bud plant
