Unknown Sativa grow

May 8th 9:00pm seeds into paper towel and driped wet. I found setting them on the water heater keeps them nice and cozy warm. The seeds are a unknown sativa / indica. The mother was mostly sativa Atleast 80/20. I will be growing in organic soil based around south Texas (local) medium dranage so i will be adding 1/3 pearlite. Some bone meal will also be added but, havent looked up the amount needed. Im using a 8in. Clay pot that i hope will be enough. I dont mind the root bind as i will make it a quick season which this type does. I will go 18/6 from sprout till one or two weeks depending on how many nodes to develop. Then switch to 12/12 to start the process. From there i will introduce 20-20-20 greenlight nutes for my veg. As soon as i see nodes i will switch to bloom nutes that are undecided atm. Feedings will be nutes one time a week when full dose is introduced. Foliar will be in the morning and afternoon. Well there you go and please reply as feedback will be appreciated Thanx guys and wish me good luck as my last grow was male.

To start off with, ditch those nutes...really. Veg you want double the amount of nitrogen as the rest. I use 30-10-10. Flowering is different as well 15-30-15 works best for me. 20-20-20 is saying, Hi, my name is Miracle Grow, how can we weaken your plant today?! Clay pots suck, you'll need to constantly keep an eye out that they're not drying out too fast. Throw in superthrive or its' generic brand, hormex. Judging from the rest of your materials, that week or two of veg isn't going to do any good. You have cheap supplies, so if it's a cheap light, you probably won't get much growth out of a week. All depends on fans, temps, humid, setup, etc. Give more details & we could help you better.

Why not just root it, and then go to 12/12? Makes more sense than wasting a week. Don't throw in 100% nutes..water it down or use half of what package says. As I tell everyone, graduate up to it. 50% ever other watering for 1 week & then 75 or 100%...depends how plant reacts to it........

Good luck!

i understand where you are coming from but, remember this is just for fun not real serious more practice than anything. First i have to learn what the strain and plant itself wants and how to tell in diff. situations. so Cfls is fine for now. I might add more but we will see... until then i will look into some better more stabkle nutes... any sugestions would be + rep.

just use fox farms veg/bloom or any orchid fertilizer works well..just keep an eye on the numbers/ratio. cfl's I swear by, if you use them correctly. If you know it's sativa, then it doesn't really matter what the name of it is. You're already going to be able to assume characteristics. Indica or Sativa can be treated the same way in growing. They just grow differently. Since it's a first time grow, I'd say just to stick with a simple grow and read the forum for info :) There's everything that you need to become develop a successful green thumb!

Good luck!

Started to use nutes and foliar feeding. Push to get my answer on previous post.
I see three issues already. one i have not heard you say anything about how you tend to address one of the biggest issues first time growers run into, and that is the pH of the water. from what i can see on these three plants its already starting to take its toll. You need to make sure that they have a pH of at least 6.0. 5.5-6.0 is the best range. i find that in the room i grow in 6.0 is perfect for my ladies and they love it. So go to wal-mart or a local aquarium shop and get a water pH test kit. the one that comes with the drops and vial. This will at least help get you on track. Second lay off the nutes, most of the time i dont start them until 2 or 3 weeks of growth. At such a young stage you dont need to worry about growth rather than a safe and sound root system. Once this is taken care of the plant its self will follow suit. Which brings me to my third issue. Get those three plants into separate pots. You are going to run into some severe root issues with all three of them in there. i know you stated that you dont care about them being root bound, but in a few weeks when it happens and they start to die you'll worry.

I would recommend getting them out before to long as you will stress them if you wait to long to transplant. And one more thing I never have foliar fed my girls and they do just fine. If you can keep 40-60% humidity i there she'll never need foliar fed.
