12/12 From Seed CFL Northern Lights : 1st Grow

I just got my NL beans from Nirvava today and I have 8 between some paper towels. Hopefully they all germinate! I'm hoping to get close to 50/50 male/female as I want to produce some seeds for future use.

I have very limitted space, about 3'l x 2'w x 2'h, the vertical space is why I'm going 12/12. I'll be running 12 23w 2700k cfls @ 1600 lumens each, 4 27w 5000k cfls @ 1750 lumens each.

Soil used is:
40% kellogg patio plus organic soil
30% miracle gro peralite
30% worm castings

I'll post pics of plants as soon as they sprout. This will actually be my first serious attempt at growing so wish me luck!

DAY 1

So I put 8 beans between paper towels a couple of days ago and 6/8 popped and showed their roots. I went ahead and planted the 6 into soil this morning and I'm hoping the other two pop within the next few days. I'm calling this day one since they were all planted at the same time, though some might call the day they sprout day 1. In any case 6/8 in a few days is cool with me, like I said i'm hoping the other two pop soon and aren't dead. I'll post pics of my setup and the plants as soon as they sprout! STAY TUNED!

Hey man,
how long in do you think you will start using bloom nutrients?
Am very interested in 12/12 grows.
Best of luck

I'm not too sure yet I'm thinking 3 or 4 weeks after breaking soil I'm going to use some fish fert, definately going to use some ff tiger bloom when the females (hopefully more than one) start to flower.

I am in a 12/12 grow with some bag seed but I have some haze x skunk1 going in and some GHS Big Bang and of course some more bag seed for the masses. My current plants are 4 weeks in and about 6-12" tall and just showing sex a little.

So I was able to get the 7th seed to germ, and I planted it on "day 2." I've been lightly watering the planted seeds in the morning and when I went to go water this morning they finally broke dirt and have sprouted. I was getting kind of worried that I did something wrong but, 5/6 original germ'ed seeds have sprouted the last one looks like its about to break dirt and the last one will hopefully break in the next couple of days since it was planted a day later. I'm losing hope on the last seed germinating, it still hasn't cracked so I just through it in a tiny bowl of water to see if that does anything. I'll be taking pictures of the plants tomorrow and they'll be posted! :joint:

Keep the ungermed seed , you do get the odd couple that just take ages to germ .
I told my friend about you doing 12/12 from seed with NL. I'm gonna give 12/12 ago aswell I think with pineapple express with a 125watt enviro.

Any way can't wait to see some pics!

I took some shots with my phone, quality is pretty bad, and its not really much to look at right now, but all 7 planted have broke ground and are on their way... Lets hope more females than males!!! Here are some pics day 5 from planting the germ'ed seeds...

I took some shots yesterday and they seem to be doing OK. They're not looking as dark green as I'd expect them to be. I started adding liquinox fish emulsion to the water yesterday and I'm probably going to use that for every watering at 1/4 strength. I would like to see how they respond before I bump it up. Here are the pics:

They're looking healthy. Some have fatter leaves than others, I didn't think they could be that much of a difference given they are being grown in the same environment, but there is one plant with only a couple of fat leaves, while there are some that have 4 fat leaves... Here are some pics. I know that homemade co2 generators don't help much but they can't hurt! I added a couple today and I'm going to add a couple more tomorrow!!!!
