Blue Dot / Purple Diesel Vertical 600W (The Medicine Cabinet Round 2)

Hey everybody, its been about a month since my last harvest of Cherry Bomb (11.4 zips) and I've already gone about my second run in my box. I will be running 20 Blue Dot and 20 Purple Diesel clones in the Wall of Green. Today is Day 13 they've been transplanted and under 12/12. Rockwool cubes using Floronova Bloom, SM-90, Excel LG Systemic Fungicide now, and will later be using Bushmaster and Snowstorm Ultra. Ph @ 5.7 PPM 890

I'm only doing 40 instead a 66 this time, because last grow i had far too dense and some plants only ended up yeilding a gram or two because they were choked out so badly by other plants.

I got em from a fellow med patient homie who's hook has had a 6ft tall mother plant going for the last 20 years in Sonoma. He gave the homie the big mama a month ago, and he was raving more about this blue dot than any of his other grade A strains.

In case anybody is wondering its lineage is (Skunk #1 X White Widow) X (Northen Lights #5 X CBB). I've only heard amazing things about the smoke, so i can't wait, because both this and the the Purple Diesel (GDP X Sour Diesel) , which is supposed to be a real purple, finish in about 7 weeks.

Lookin good perfect storm ...
love the blue dot !! Mine wasn't the heaviest yielder But GREAT tasting smoke....mine almost tasted like a hazey blueberry .....Mine streached quite a bit too... I'll try n find a pic of it???

No luck finding a good shot....have a pic it's the one in the back corner (the one with the really long top)... To be honest i didn't think it was gonna be that great ....But after i cured it .....damn.... it was really dank!... I grew out 12 different strains and it turned out being one of my favorite smokes...

Do you throw your plants in flower right after they root?? Or how tall do you let them get??

good to hear somebody's experience with the strain, and yeah, i usually leave the clones in darkness for 24, then go straight to flower. They're a lil over three weeks in now and have lil half-golfball size nuggies on em. I can definitely see how it isnt the greatest yielder as they're much smaller than my Cherry Bomb was at this time last round.

On a side note, i decided to just turn on my uvb lights a couple days ago, and the amount of frost on my leaves is out of control now!

Seriously, to all that can, add a reptile lamp to your grow. If not for your buds, do it for some frosty trim to make some tasty BHO.

Im gettin a 250 watt cool tube looked the exact same!

im kinda enjoying this vertical idea why did you decide to go that route?

thanks man, all is going well. i think i paid something like 150 bucks for this 8 inch cool tube, but i must say its doing the trick quite nicely, these plants are probably less than 4 inches away from the glass of a 600w

I decided to go this route because as a medical user in my area i can grow as many plants as i want in a 10 by 10 area. I live in a studio apartment so space is really limited, but with this box, i can eventually pull down a pound or so every 50-60 days.

Also, because its been about a week since the last picture update, heres some new budshots so you can see their progression.

Well its day 30 on the grow now, and i'm doing a one night flush tonight, I've now stopped using the Excel LG fungicide and started using the Snowstorm Ultra. The buds are still frostin up more, and bulkin up too. Tomorrow I plan on buying some Gravity to try and see if it helps with the yields. I've found a few lil tiny gnats the air conditioner drain water, the reservoir, and also in some puddling in the grow area.

Alright so I got the gravity, flushed about 250ppm out of the rockwool overnight, and I added 400 ppm of nutes, .5 ml of Gravity/gallon, and .5 ml of Snowstorm Ultra /gallon

I plan on slowly adding 1ml of gravity per day for the next few days, and in another 5 or 6 days i'm probably going to do another flush and revert back to full nutes. Anybody think this sounds like a decent nute schedule?

Wow, that gravity def seemed to do wonders for the buds, theyre plumpin up quite healthily in the last 4 days of use, the foliage however also seems to be takin some beating in some areas too though, so I'm not sure for how much longer im gonna continue it.

The Purple Diesel started getting its first purple hues last night, and with it some of the pistols have started to turn orange, looks quite dannnk.

Last Nug is the Blue Dot.

Well if anybody has still been following my journal, here are some updated flowering pics from the last three days. Let me know what you guys think.

Day 34 - First 3 pics
Day 35 - Next 5 pics
Day 36 (today) - Next 6 pics

I did a reservoir change and am now using only Fox Farm Big Bloom, Snowstorm Ultra, and SM-90. PPMs are at about 1000, it seems the strain doesn't like to go much higher than that. I have stopped using Gravity because some of the leaves are feelin mighty drained. Hopefully they'll spring back to life in the next few days now that ive stopped usage.

Alright couple pics of day 39 Flower! what do you think guys are both the purple and blue dot both 50 day strains like my buddy said? I think the purple may finish a full week before the blue dot, but we'll see in another 11 days.

Alrighty some more pics of the the babies, from day 40 and day 43 (today), i've been battling virus issues so sorry the updates are far and few in between.

The gravity must have done somethin for density, because i'm startin to see some realllly saggy branches, gonna hafta tie a couple up.

you guys think that purple has a week left still or no? almost all hairs seem to have receded and turned orange. I'm probly gonna go by a scope today or tm.

Well I bought the scope, and the Purple Diesels trichromes look about 60-80% amber. Its day 45 now, and i'm thinking it might be time to do a 3 day flush w/only molasses, yank them, and then renute the blue dot for another week or so, about a third of the pistils are turning orange for that strain right now.

and for the LOVE OF GOD somebody give me some input please.

Sweet grow. Blue Dot is my top favorite weed ive ever smoked. Used to have a connect who got loads of it and pounds would be gone in days, absolute superb smoke. It just tastes like it belongs in Cali and nowhere else. Have no input on the Purple D except im jealous of you. Got you some scrill there
