Pretty stoned right now....

But... i have EVERYTHING i need to grow some quality ganj! I was looking at a couple peoples grow journals and i reckon i got a good chance of getting a half decent yield... i got good soil, good nutes and a decent light... gonna be emotional... ive done it on quite a small budget.

Wood for my box - Thieved from the loud arse builders upstairs
3 Feminised Seeds - £25
Biobizz Soil - £10
Biobizz nutes Topmax, grow, bloom - £20
Mylar - £5
Timer - £5
Tidbits like hinges and saw - £10

My light has been borrowed off a mate who didn't see it through, so he's kindly lent it to me, on condition i sort him out, its a Sylvania 400w HPS.

I plan to make my own carbon filter and get some fans but that'll have to wait... but ill let you know

Pics will be posted of my box and setup tomorrow, so ive spent £75 so far....

electricity i worked out will cost me about £100 for the whole cycle,

Easy friends!! Wish me luck!

P.s feel free to comment

Bad times,

We havent had any heating for the last week and our flat is a steady 16 degrees, too cold to germinate in my opinion, monday were getting a new one...

In the meantime, my semi-stealthy box is completely set up... i got a lid with an extractor on it and the intake is in the door...

will update you soon RIU!

COYS!

in that space ur going 2 set fire 2 ur flat ! lol
serious concern or flippant remark?

Cos ive thought that, and i havent tested to see if it would but surely if its got air circulation it would be fine...

Its only a 400watt bulb....

Should i Be worried about burning the place down??

And im pretty sure... as long as it dont catch fire, ill grow more than a gram jafoolie!

Cheers

cheers

Listen mate, I'm going to be very honest with you.

Your grow space is extremely tiny - how do you possibly expect to grow several plants, let alone one plant, in such a confined space? It's not even half a metre tall!

Another thing - you've put in a HPS lamp? That's barmy mate - you will kill the plant, unless you set fire to your flat first. Do you have any idea how hot those things get? We're talking 200 degrees celcius...

To finish my constructive criticism, I'll end it simply. Get back up to those noisy builders and pinch some more wood!

You're going to need a much larger space, and I really mean much larger.

Happy farming, peace

Cheers Rich for the heads up, better i learn it now than when im burning in my sleep...

Ive got like 2 foot of space, this is like all the room im going to be able to muster..

Was gonna LST to save space.. but im guessing even then its gonna be not enough....

Whatcha reckon? New bulb? What about one of these?

Thanks again...

its not as small as it looks, the reflector is tonk, seen many grows where theres less space than this still growing well, as for the ventilation, i got that covered, got an intake and an exhaust plus a general fan, a lot of people say ventilation and fresh air is key...

So should i buy this light? or are there better ones?

Yes, desertrat is right. Remember, you will have to make sure you get a fan inside and adjust the humidity.

If you're still bent on going ahead with it - get about 2-3 of those bulbs, it will be more or less ok. It's a shame that you can't use the HPS lamp... the result would be so much better than with CFLs.

Are you sure you can't make the space bigger? Making it higher is the priority, as for width.. well a few inches will definitely help. I hope you can manage; it's always nice to see people succeed in growing!

When I first started out a few months ago (my first grow), I was going to do it in a wardrobe but decided to do it in my bathroom shower instead - how right I was! (It's the shower we don't use). It's pretty much a ghetto set up but quite good for a first time (if I may say so) - take a look for yourself.

My girls are 3 months old, going to veg them at the end of the month. My lamp is only a 250w HPS, also got a simple fan and a humidifier. With a little imagination, one can acheive great things!

Anyway, for the sake of it, I must admit your grow is fucking stealthy! haha
Pity it's not the right size.. but nevermind, you'll figure out something, eh mate?

Keep us posted,

-Rich

Ok so i've just gone ahead and bought that bulb as stated above...

I reckoned it was too cold to be germinating seeds so ive bought a heated propagator.... considering i was doing it on a budget.. ive definately just been throwing money at it... but all for the :leaf: cause!

Im feeling pretty nervous about my seeds, just as i've never germinated any seeds before so i just gotta wait til they come up outta the soil...

useless pics but incase you wants ta see em... and my new bulb...

Will update the second they come up from the soil....

Day 1....

Two were in the propegator, but only one has sprouted so far....

Se she's going under a 23w bulb for a week... if i leave her under the bulb 24/7 for the week will it be ok to put her under the big light for less hours, say 18/6 or 20/4?

Number two hasnt done anything yet... but im proud enough that this one has come up, im going to give the other seed another few days, and if it doesnt do anything im gonna try my other seed....

Heres a pic....
