This is my very first grow. Today I am just posting a few pics, but I have lots of stuff to get into.

It's Day 30 of my project. In the first 3 weeks of growing I didn't have nearly enough light. Now my plants have tripled in size in about 5 or 6 days. =D I just got the new setup completed, replacing the in-between setup that replaced the crappy initial setup that I had to start with. More on this later tonight.

Watered two days ago, plan to begin a weekly nutrient schedule tomorrow.

As a noob I welcome comments, advice, constructive criticism, etc. Let me know how I am doing! I have been reading this forum constantly for the past month and I hope to become a more active writer this summer. I hope everyone enjoys watching my progess, as I plan to update every day.

The plants adore the new lights. =D

Each plant got around 500mL of water today - 250mL with 1/2 dillution Neptune's Harvest Organic Fish Emulsion, and 250mL straight water - so about 1/4 nutrients.

Pics.

I don't think I have enough time for major posting right now, but I am planning to get my handwritten journal into this thread sometime soon.

Peaceful smoking!

Hey i got an early misty grow going myself right now .Outdoors though. Mine are only on day 14 though. Looking forward to seeing your girls down the road. I'll post a pic of mine once they get a lil bigger. Still in the seedling stage right now.

Very happy about the growth I am seeing recently, especially with Unknown 3 which I have posted an extra side-view of today.

I watered about 800mL today. Plan to add somewhere between half and full strength nutes next water, about 3 or 4 days from now.
I also moved the plants around just a little: switched locations of em8 and em2, switched locations of u2 and u3.

Feel free to comment!

Lookin good bro :).

I was wondering if you could compare how your plants were at 15 days compared to mine ??

Heres a pic of my nicest one. Is her growth rate ok for 15 days so far ?? Just seems a lil slower growth that the other grows i'm watching.

yo dude you're having the same problem i was having. NOT ENOUGH LIGHT! is that little baby outside? perhaps you should bring it out and throw it under a cfl. a single cfl, if you have a shade to capture it all, will grow it a lot faster.

some pics of what i have done attached:
in the first pic you can see the 3 (pitiful) lights i was hanging to cover 12 plants. and the day is labelled. (i think yours are better than mine were) but also in the first pic you can see the half way point i had between final and first set of lights.
I had them all in a row with good shades i made myself of aluminum foil. when i did this they started growing like crazy compared to previously. i think, on a good average if i had done this right, i am about 1-2 weeks behind if i had good lights to begin with. so not bad, but needs to be remedied.

and in the last pic you can *kinda* see what i have done: taken half of a large trash barrell and cut the ends smooth so that i could use it as a half pipe upside down with lights in it. now my plants get cross-light too. =]

I really need to stop being high 24/7 so that I can organize this thread and get all my updates in order. In any case, I have some pictures for today. Hope everyone is well!

My co-grower came down over the weekend to check out the progress! We are both happy with our luck so far.

Water today with full strength nutes, about 800mL per plant, but em7 and 9 get less because the pots are smaller.

Not much else to say! Pics attached as always.

Transplanted em7 and 9 today. The root mass was dope! I think they are going to start growing faster now.

Re-arranged and added stilts to make sure the plants are even heights. Not bothered with trying to SCROG because there is more than one strain.

The plants look delicious.

In the pic of u3, there is a chopstick. Yes, like chinese food. Anyway, the chopstick is 9 inches tall. So is u3 =D.

::NOTE::
Friend says we should begin flowering sooner than later because we will not have enough light to support the plants when they get into the flowering stage... any thoughts from anyone out there reading? Please feel free to comment.

Well, as per discussion yesterday, I have turned my timer to go off 6 hours earlier than usual today, thus (hopefully) forcing my little (hopefully 100%, though I do not have feminized seeds) ladies into flowering. 8 weeks from now is July 30th, so hopefully I will have something smokable for you to look at by then =]

Check out the pics today especially. Remember how u3 was 9 inches tall a day or two ago? Now it is at least 10. (Look for the chop stick next to the plants!)

You should also notice a couple extra lamps in the mix. There is a 45w halogen bulb hanging above the right side, and there is another CFL on the left standing vertically. The third light I added today was a CFL in the hood, because I have had an empty slot there since the hood was built =/ but it is all better now.

I plan to water clean tomorrow, then nutes on Monday, repeat once or twice, and then I will (probably) start watering with molasses or honey.

Any thoughts? Please do comment.

They look great :) nice work!!!

I don't know if anyone has said this and you probably already know but.... Get that halogen light out of the room :p (ud get more of the right spectrum from lighting a fart on fire. )(ok maybe you wouldn't but its the first thing that popped in my head so :p lol) .

Def toss the halogen bulb less your using it to increase temps :p :)

Hope that wasn't taken wrong at all :) wasn't meant bad just halogen's suck donkey D#$@.

Other than that 1 light your grow looks pretty freekin nice. (someones gonna tell u to drop the lights to 1" so... lol but there lookin pretty compact for the distance the lights appear. Great job..

Haha thank you so much!

The halogen is only in there because it's the only available light source I could find in my house today that I could take without someone noticing. I will probably replace it with a 2700k cfl by the end of next week. Light is better than no light, so I figure any addition is worth it. And you're right; it is ridiculously hot, so it's hanging a good foot and a half over the plants.

The lights pretty much are at 1 or 2 inches - I move the entire hood when I take pics, as it's near impossible to see the plants when the hood is at normal height. I think my post for Day 39 (which I forgot to title) has a pic that shows the room with the hood right above the plants.

Thanks for the input!

Hahahaha yeah I should have... Not quite that witty right now though. I wish it were good reason, but I've been doing nothing (not even smoking!) all day and my mind is just as lazy as my body.

It's been a while.

Some shit happened over the weekend that this thread hasn't seen yet:

I was forced to neglect the plants from Thursday (at which point I moved the lights and took some pics - I think I updated that day) to Sunday. In that time, a few of the plants grew too much for the amount of space I gave them under the light, and a couple plants were burned.

U3 (PIC 4) - the queen of the room - was burned a little in the fanleaves. Nothing that will slow it down much at all. She (I hope, at least) is still quite strong. She is also about 16 inches tall  (Look at the chopstick!)
attachment.php

U2 (PIC 1, 7) was not so lucky. She grew directly into one of the bulbs, and the entire top was burned. This will result in essentially a really bad topping job. The top was just developing a node, and the entire node was burned. So it looks like a shitty topping job - losing more plant than necessary. Now the highest node that is growing is below a huge fanleaf, and I am trying to decide whether to cut the fanleaf off and give this girl a REAL topping job, or to let it run its course. There is also a question of one of the fanleaves: It is burned in the branch and is kind of pinched off, and the leaves are very droopy (right side of pic)... Should this leaf be cut, or do you think it will recover? All advice is greatly appreciated.

attachment.php

U1 (PIC 2) was also burned, but not as badly as U2. The top of U1 may or may not recover from the burn. If it does not recover, the dead top can be cut off and it should produce two good new tops without trouble.
attachment.php

EM8 and EM9 have slight burns in the fanleaves - less than U3. They will be fine. The rest of the plants were not burned, at least not significantly enough to notice.

PIC 3 - This just shows how my plants are being raised in an attempt to keep them at equal heights. From tallest to shortest: u3, u1, em7.
attachment.php

PIC 5 - All plants together. Starting in back left, clockwise: em7, u1, u3, em9, u2, em8, em2.
attachment.php

PIC 6 - Because I don't think you've seen em2 in a while, and I want you to see how bushy it is compared to u3 and such.
attachment.php

... I think I figured out how to put pics in the middle of my post, so I hope this works.

Thanks for viewing! Once again, all comments and advice are very welcome. Don't be shy!
