hey, :)

organic grow — sunshine by day & at night lights (reptisun 2x 48" 10s; plus 3x CFL 150 daylight), 24-0

these are close-ups of dankouver. i could study the trichomes all day long!

the results of being too aggressive with the reptisun lights, lost about 1/3 biomass on all the plants :( hey, if 2x 48" is good at 3 feet, then lowering those suckers to about 3" and add more 3 coiled reptisuns is better! wrong :(

woke up in the morning to find toasted leaves that eventually died. lost all the large fan leaves & was left with the small leaves which live below them

here they are, nursed back to health kinda. you can see the damage:

trying to make mamas out of these but they insist on flowering even being on a 24-0 cycle

all things being equal, dankouver has been the most stable of the bunch having the most trichomes, it's like it's being invaded by transparent mushrooms. dankouver has also been the slowest grower.

outside weather has been mostly sunny, dry, 60-90F degrees, wind everyday with occasional fog in the mornings. nights have been in 50s with a fan on the lights

growing in sunlight during the day, at night uvb as primary light source & additional coiled fluorescent lights.

i'm wondering if the uvb lights are making the plants flower instead of vegetating out?

update,...

an observation.

in the mornings after being under uvb lights all night the plants are stressed but full of trichomes. the plants don't look healthy

during the day in the sunshine the plants recuperate & begin to look healthy again

i'm going to shut off the uvb lights for a few nights, use only the coiled fluorescent lights at night, during the day sunshine & see what happens

there is some construction going on next door so I moved all the plants onto our 3rd floor balcony.

one on of the plants discovered about a dozen tiny skinny green worms (3/8th inch long) smashed them. they skeletonized a few leaves.

:) happy 420!

so, i'm having work done in our greenhouse where the ladies used to be since february. before the electrician showed up i opened all the windows, turned on the fans, lit some incense & tried to air the place out to get the stinky out. the electrician comes in & does a head jerk, stares at me & i say,... "what?"..."something wrong?" :P

ahhhhhhhh, stinky :)

pictures of a section inside greenhouse where the plants spend their nights:

5 gallon buckets, name tags identify strain & date planted also use the name tag to orientate the buckets south when outside and at night under lights

adjustable & modified track lighting holding CFLs.

i used aviation snips to cut the original bucket tins which i then filed down to remove burrs & finally coated the edges with strip of metallic tape used on dryer vents.

the metallic walls are foiled packaging bubbles used to insulate & keep the sunlight away from motorhomes (found this in our garage).

above the CFLs are adjustable 48" uvb lights. i've been leaving these off because i'm trying to make mother plants to clone from. i'll use the uvb lights during the clone grows.

our patios leading up to the greenhouse are designed asian zen style so i use asian screens inside the greenhouse to partition & hide the cannabis plants from the rest:

my plants had been flowering (and still are), but after about 7 weeks they are showing signs of vegging (which is what i want).

finally long single leaves are making their appearance!
