Heaths ghetto grow.

This is a small system I have built to use up a few spare cuttings I had left. It is in the corner of a room which is going to hold my new vertical system. So if you see strange goings on at the side of the grow it will just be the new vert being constructed.

The idea is very simple I have a small mj1000 pump which is recirculating the nutrients constantly. The level is set by simply twisting the elbow. I am going to run it flooded so in effect it will be a recirculating deep water culture hybrid system. This sounds complicated but is actually very simple and much more effective than a simple deep water culture system.

I am also running a 400w growlux bulb so all you need to build this system is a bit of pipe and fittings a small pump and a 400/600w light!. I am running this with two pipes removed simply because I didnt have enough cuttings to fill it!.

Hi buggs bunny good to have you onboard, thanks for stopping by.

Just for you dirtyDank I have included a highly detailed Autocad diagram which might (or might not! lol) explain the workings.

Hi ripz Give it a try I only built this because its small and is in the same room as a big vertical system I am building so I needed it to small but productive.

Hi twistedentities it can be a big deal changing from soil to hydro sometimes its best to "wet your feet" with something like a waterfarm which would give you an easy intro to hydro, good luck whatever you do.

potheadsmoker if you have seen my other grows you will know I only use the best! lol.

Here we are on day 19 of 12/12 and so far things are running smoothly.

i just looked through your gallery in it's entirety, I must say I am quite impressed by how you maintain such healthy looking plants using many different systems. Big ups to you, thanks for posting.

hey heath,

how big is the piping? and the net pots your using?

I'm def thinking about building this. I'm using your waterfarm mods doing the top feed recirculating though(saw it on hg). I'm gonna get that dialed in working perfectly then try this out for sure!

thanks

I hate to resurrect an old thread, but can anybody tell me where to get the PVC pipe that he is using, it looks like quality stuff, also appears to have some sort of o-ring in it maybe to provide a better seal? I also like the gray. If anyone knows where I can get this exact pipe, it would be much appreciated!

Wow, I didn't think it would be so hard to find this 4" piping, I have been to lowes and home depot and ace hardware, not to mention scouring the net, and I can't find the exact pieces Heath has......Think I am going to just run regular PVC...I hate not being able to take something apart because its glued permanately but ohh well...
