Update time. Photos are on day 27. I found bugs this last week, SM to be exact. They were based on the Maui Wowie, with little spread to the other Bay 11. I'm sure they hitchhiked in on me. Wednesday I hit em' with a Dr Doom spray can fogger. I hit em again on Saturday, and built support halos for 3 of them.

Here's the Maui Wowie she's an 18th generation clone, all growth is from side branches, the main stalk was tied down and the head removed.

Some shots of the Bay 11 clones, the baggies on the one are covering pollen. Then the rm

Nice Watt....18th gen clone? how is she doing? isn't that a bit much?

Also wasn't it u that was using just OC? I have a few indoor ones vegging and want to use the OC...

I fired up the 600 watt HPS today as the weather is rather gloomy and won't be getting better for awhile
Puta Madre....the HPS killed the upper leaves on the smaller cola but the larger cola which was closer to the light is doing okay. (about 14 - 18 inches from the bulb)

it did not like the HPS from day one....but I thought it would adjust, but it only got worst, so I pulled the plug on the HPS

so I could either lower the HPS to 50% or 75%....or use 280 watts of CFL...... or just stick with the sun and grow her until November

BTW...the sun is actually shining now :)

Yes 18 is probably pushing it, but it shows that if you keep a plant healthy you can keep a special strain going for a long time.

And yes on the OC.... I'm the lazy cheap SOB that grows with Osmocote. But at $1.50/plant including all supplements, and not having to chase changing feed levels, well, it fits my lifestyle. :eyesmoke:

Ouch! I would think just like you.... 14"-18".... and done the same exact thing...what a learning ISK. Light intensity must be an "acquired" thing with plants. Sorry you had to go through that but you just taught us all a valuable lesson.

Nice progress on the G13 Blueberry Gum at 2 weeks 12/12. We'll see what these new Area-51 LED's do on another strain. For kicks I used hydroton clay balls in the reservoir under a coco top end. Because of this I'm now having to water every 2 days instead of 2.5-3days (dang-it). Plants love it though. This strain is relatively low odor, touching it produces a bright "Lemon Pledge" smell....as well the leaves up top are little "fatties". Hoping I get some Indy dom girls this time round. Looks like a couple of different pheno's but nothing too sativa looking so far.

So I got a question for y'all.

I got a ten pack of GDP phantom cookies in hempy buckets right now about to sex. I realize one of my buckets didn't have holes in it and was going anaerobic. Smelled like road kill and rocket fuel. So I hit all m girls with h2o2 giving them all a pretty healthy amount. A gallon each really. Got some good runoff on them all.

This was less then 48 hours ago and they were very dry when I checked em tonight. Now I usually get 3 good days out of a full watering. does a plant drink faster If its got all the o2 in it? Or are my plants just really starting to hit their stride? I watered tonight pretty good with my normal Nutes so I guess we will see how long it takes. Anyone have any experience?

Every 2-days sounds right for a 1gal bucket when the plants are at their peak uptake during early-mid flower. A lot depends on the height of the hole and the reservoir medium but the plants too change thorought their life cycle. If less than 3 weeks since flip, you can do some defoliation of lower fans and spindly branches that have non-producing buds and that will buy you back another 1/2 day to a day depending on how agreesive you are (less transpiration). I keeps recirc fans from blowing across the medium too. There is a point out there at week 6 or 7 where uptake slows back down. Its timing is usually where the nutrient mix is lighter on your grow charts and at flush. I have a 7week girl in a 5qt now who's roots are bulging up out of the coco on top...must be no where for them to go and less room for water...I just mix extra and feed lightly every day so it doesn't dry up during sleep hours.
Good luck with your cookies...keep us posted.

They are actually still in veg. I topped them at around 9nodes or so and defoliates pretty heavy. They are just now really recovering from that and the top is growing back in nicely to make nice little square bushes. My holes are the length of the cap off a sharpie marker from thfh bottom of 5 gallon buckets. I used chunky perlite on the bottom and a mix of 10% coco 90% perlite on most of them. I ran outa perlite so as I got low I started adding more coco and more chunky perlite to the top of the last couple I planted so I got a few on some pretty strange set ups. They all seem to e doing equally well.

I've noticed my boss hog I got in a 10/90 mix that's a week or so into flowering eats her Rez in one day. I have been having to water almost every day. I didn't yesterday cause she wasn't totally dry yet but here's my question. Is drying out necessary with Hempys? I've never finished a run with em yet so Idk. Any help is much appreciated!

HGK420, sorry I read in the 1gal as your container size instead of your feed qty. Now I see what you mean and am equally intrigued about your 5g setups and their high watering freq. Coco is my gig too but I use a higher percentage up top and refrain from perlite all together. Coco retains moisture up top longer than all perlite hempy's and since yours is only 10%, I venture to say you are going to see only a marginal water retention increase over all perlite. Stevie Stoner here on WOH is a great resource for the 5gal all perlite setup so I'll let turn this to him for advice. Yes, some of us have learned to let buckets get "light by lifting"" for growth spurts above and beyond the explosive results that the hempy method serves. There's a point just before leaf droop, where watering creates a "zoom" in height and diameter. These roots loves'em some air as much as water.

That's what it feels like, if you can time it just right it would make for some intense growth I think. I can't really plan to time it out as I've only started with hempy. I'm gonna do my best to let then get to that point tho.

I got 2 of them in 60% coco 20% chunky 20% regular perlite. They seem to be growing just as fast and drinking about the same speed too. Rooms been a little warm so I'm sure they are just drinking more cause of that but they seem to be keeping pace with their sisters. I got a total of about 20 seed plants going in 5 gallon Hempys now and I don't think I could plant anything any other way from here on out. I'm a watering can kinda guy and this method just works so good for people like me. I want the simplicity of hand watering and the possibility of adjusting Nutes between each plant but still get hydro results! Dwc was the best I've found until hempy. I just can't wait til these beasts start flowering!

What ppm do you guys push to in flower?

Hope everyone is doing well :) Just wanted to update my 2L perlite/vermiculite hempy!! I am running the lights at 11 on / 13 off as I think they personally do better with this light/dark schedule. It has only been one week and they are really enjoying the 400mh. Plan on switching to the 600hps in another week or so. Peace!!

i max out at ~800 with dyna gro

does anyone here monitor root temps?
i just started doing this with my seedlings, and found out that insulating my small pots keeps them about 5 degrees cooler!

You get just a touch of burn outa that? What line too?
GH Trio - micro/grow/bloom + liquid Koolbloom. The only time I get burn is from the powdered KB, which is really powerful so I use it @ or less than the label recommendations.
