well done tags420. It's nice to see that our shared experience has taken root in your life and is now flowering with monumental expectations. Your future seems extremely bright to say the least. Am headed your way soon. Love as always
I would like everyone to meet my DAD! This is the man who showed me how to grow. Organic and simple from the start. He is the only person I know that literally gives nothing but water to his plants and grows the biggest resin covered buds/trees you have ever seen. He showed me the importance of good soil mixes way before I ever even heard of Subcool. Dad doesn't mess much with indoor except for his hybrid system that goes outside during the day.

Some of dads work from the past...

Ahhhhhhhhhhh always love outdoor grows, especially with a good story behind it. Your Dad sure knows his soil mixes/gardening to keep such large girls green and happy organically.

Maybe one day I get to grow our beloved plant outdoors (where it belongs!!) without any worry of prosecution. Too much stress in the past going guerilla......

Outdoors is a tags family specialty and where I learned everything. You have to love California, and hopefully soon it will be even more legal and accepted across the nation.

Since this is my thread, here is my outdoor from last year... https://www.rollitup.org/outdoor-growing/608568-tags-2012-outdoor-garden.html
I don't have the location anymore and will not be doing a outdoor crop this year unfortunately. It was a one time spot(collective garden) that I made the most of all legally and within limits and regulations. We donated...and I mean completely free with no compensation or recovery... a significant amount to a local cannabis charity that gets meds for truly sick and in need people as well as vets.

Wow that's so awesome, you two are incredibly lucky to have that bond. And what a useful thing to teach your son! The most my father was able to impress on me is how to evade slapping hands and stinging words to snatch bits of turkey and lamb on holidays as our other-harder working family members cooked them haha. BTW Please tell me you guys used one of those on christmas as a tree with ornaments. I think that'd be the height of living free haha. Very cool. Will be following your grow!

I gave the flower room shooting powder today. I am hoping it will give them a big enough push to get a reasonable yield still. I don't use the stuff but I had a few free sachets and I figured I couldn't hurt.

I sprayed the veg room again today and everything is looking huge and super healthy. I will add those trellis tomato rings tomorrow and then flip within the week. I kind of wish that they were in the 5g pots but I guess I will just have to actually feed. I think they'll be ok in the 3g's. They are going be some big bitches.

I can be honest and say I am not a fan of LED. But I love science and I love testing and I love facts so I will see how far this grow test goes.

I do not believe for a second that LED lights achieve more THC % than HPS or any other type of light. Potency is a genetic factor. Theoretically one could lose potency of a specific genetic by having a negative environment or other factors, but the different light type or spectrum does not effect potency in any way.

12 Apache AT120w's? So close to $12,000 in lights. Hmmmmm. I understand the idea of saving money on electricity, but I do not believe one, that you will yield more then your 6-600 watt setup. And two, the start up cost in lights alone(12k compared to 1,200 maybe with only about 350 a year after the first year in bulb replacement cost) is a great setback short-term. But if one could actually get the same yields as with hps lighting and the equipment actually has some longevity and doesn't lose it's effectiveness or have maintenance issues, then maybe. But only then. I admit I don't look at many LED threads because I've seen LED production up close and personal and I'm just not impressed.

But I will sub this thread and watch the results because I care about facts and not myths. Good Luck!
Seeing is believing but some ppl will never learn or change.. Open ur mind and with scintific proof it's easy to see that LED is the future of growing! Most of us on here grow for quality not quantity... :bigjoint:

Finally ready for the next run

No more fucking around, I got some forbid to finally end the broad mites for good. It is ridiculously expensive but it works. Obviously only the new run in the veg room will get sprayed, not the BBS.

Unless there's another Forbid out there, it's an ornamental spray only...not to be used on ANY fruit or vegetable much less anything that you'll smoke.

It can be used during veg, but I get you point, which why I said the BBS(currently flowering) won't get it. It is about a 21 day systemic. I'm usually mr. organic but you got to do what you got to do sometimes.I normally don't trust canada but...
"Forbid 240SC is currently registered for two-spotted spider mite and Whiteflies includingsweetpotato, siverleaf and greenhouse whiteflies in both Greenhouse ornamental andGreenhouse vegetables (tomato, cucumber, pepper)."
The sc240 is half the concentration of the 4f.

I culled everything(moms and clones) except the big lemons. I want to save them, it took a lot of work to get them to here. The bbs will finish out untouched and the big lemons will get treated. Then new genetics will be introduced into the mix once I'm sure that the broad mites are gone. Unfortunately it is going to take forbid or avid to get rid of them for good. Everyone in the garden is onboard and understand what is being done.

Man, I love the color of the bbs! When are you anticipating they'll be ready for harvest? Your next run is going to even sweeter, cant wait to see the big light. I'm about to pull the trigger on my second at120 in the next week or so! Also checked out your outdoor garden journal....and DAAAMMNN is all I have to say about that!

CODE: RBK331 ...That code they gave me now works for just one light too and makes them $750. That is the best that is probably going to happen for a few months.
Brother Tags Is This Code Still Good If So I Will be Pulling The Trigger On The Apache Tech :weed:

Glad you're back man. Not the same without you dropping in. Outdoor is a tags family trade for sure. I'll keep trying to get my indoor skills to my outdoor level. I got some BBS nugs with your name on them, i'll be at the sf cup.

Brother Tags Which Spectrum Would You Recomend 4/1 or The 3/2?
The code still works(RBK331). There is no time limit to it as long as I am around. The AT120 is a great light and I am happy to pay for the quality, but that discount makes it way more practical and easier to pull the trigger.

White3/Red2(WR2's) is the best light. It is the best flowering light hands down and it veg's great even with the enhanced red. It is the the WR serries is the one that they worked with nasa to develop. Apache was the actually company who worked with nasa unlike illumitex and some others who use/claim it because of nasa, but didn't help develop it.

UPDATE TIME

So Apache had a factory problem or something like that and couldn't get me the new AT480 for at least another week...standard story by now but whatever. I figure I will still get it before anyone else so I'll just shut up about it coming and wait. Like I just told dawg, the R2's are the best light and the only one's I want to flower under. The only reason mine is delayed is because it is an R2...they have bunch of all whites done and already at Stanford. Anyways, since my at480 is delayed, I had to think of a new run to use the Apache's on because the big lemons couldn't wait any longer and I need more R2's to do them justice. So I will do a quick veg SOG style for the LED side so that the timing is perfect with the big lemons. Since I have the plant count room to do it that way it saves a decent amount of time also. I will have all the right lights and not have to move things around too if I do it this way. And slowly I will get completely converted like originally planned. It is still a pretty good led setup if I do say so myself.

Here is the last normal update and then I will put them all together after drying, weight, and smoke report in a nice movie.

I upload the in HD so everyone can see the details better but I always wonder if someone will have a problem with it. Hope it works enough to see the dankness and soon to be dank.

Can't wait to see you rocking an apache in your quiver. You'll love it. And next to the area51 it will fit right in. You will have some serious led firepower at your disposal. Two super similar lights and they should perform step for step with each other basically. Now that would be an interesting side by side.

Some pics to tease everyone a little.

This is one of the Stanford AT480 prototype and is not available. I will be the first to get the improved version when it is ready in supposedly 2 more weeks. The only difference between this and my new AT480 is that mine will have more space in between the 6 lens clusters(at120's). In this prototype the cross over light is not being used efficiently. By spacing it more the cross over still covers the center seams and improves the coverage to a full 4x4, this proto does about 3.5x3.5. It's putting out 1040.4 umol@24"(2feet)!!! The wattage is a little high...but this is to replace 1000w hps straight up and will be the beast that all the big scale/commercial guys are looking for.
