and here's the WW x BB nearing the end..... most of burns are from when young, most likely from splahing when watering.... my bad!!!
Looking good!

Well today I chopped down the hermies...
Sad day to see so much healthy plant vegetation go down the commode.

Anyways...
The dispensary that I was supposed to pick up all my seeds from said they "dont have the ability to fill the order yet".
Which is fine, but they should have told me that from day one instead of making me sit around for 2 days with my dick in my hands...
haha...

Anyways I decided to say to hell with it, and instead of buying cali connection genetics(which Ive have more problems with then good things) i'm buying seeds from another dispensary friend of mine from TGA subcool genetics.

Ill be picking up plushberry, pandoras box, and possibly querkle.
Im going to pick them up in a couple of hours so we shall see:)

Anyways hope everyone is having a good day!

whereas im in no position to comment, and as such probably shouldn't, as i have never grown TGA, (i did want to), i will just say that i have heard/seen many reports of their strains being unstable especially where hermes are concerned. if it was a prob, i hope they've sorted it out as they have some gorgeous looking plants, plushberry, space queen, ripped bubba, vortex, etc. i will be watching with added interest mate, hoping the issues, if indeed there is any substance to them, have been rectified.

I AM NOT KNOCKING TGA, JUST STATING WHAT I CURRENTLY BELIEVE, HOPING TO BE PROVED WRONG!!! good luck bro!!!!

If they do have hermie problems it wouldn't be anything different then what I am facing with cali connection/og genetics.
Im thinking instead of buying 6-10 seeds of each strain that im going to buy 18-30 seeds of one strain.
This gives me higher chances of receiving higher quality females/males.
The strain im going to get is probably going to be pandoras box if I do it that way.
Recently bought some from a local collective to check it out and it looked and smoked really well.
Hopefully I will have enough to fill a room(with tga) after this first room fills(with the cali connection plant) a month from now.
I took 9 more clones yesterday to give me a total of 17 clones and once they all root, into the flowering room they go to veg for a week or so, then start flowering.
Its finally been warming up over here so hopefully these clones wont take as long to root.

Well just about to pick up my seeds.
One of my clones has finally rooted, now that its warm enough for the cubes to dry it has stimulated root growth.
woop!

Well that was a fucking goose chase....

Drove an hour to check out the TGA seeds that I mentioned above..
Checked out pandoras box, plushberry, and querkle and I have to say that I was not impressed by the quality of the seeds.
I had to walk away...
Pandoras Box was light brown, little to no stripes, small, and definitely immature..
Plushberry was a little better, greyish in color, but very very small..
The querkle was small and immature as well...

At $60 per 5 pack of seeds you would expect a little better quality especially from a well known pollen chucker like TGA subcool.

Anyways, after wasting my time at that dispensary, and looking at other dispensaries in the area that only carried strains that they crossed in house I decided to try a different option.

The only dispensary that had something somewhat good was a dispensary that carried Kens GDP.
Still decided to pass on that though.

Hit up an old dispensary I used to pick up seeds from and FINALLY tomorrow I am hopefully picking up 22 seeds of Kosher Kush from Reserva Privada.
I had an acquaintance who actually was apart of the cultivation of Kosher Kush that made it to the cannabis cup and won.
I smoked a bowl of it and damn... It was upper echelon.

Hopefully tomorrow this wont fall through like all the others and I can get going...

Cross your fingers...

I know little about TGA, but I wanna add some of my strongest plants have come from small seeds. The size of the seed in no way has anything to do with the quality of the genetics. White and actually immature seeds are one thing, but just being small is not necessarily a bad thing.

I have had a plant here and a plant there that came out good
Im just looking for consistency.
Were the small seeds mostly sativa, mostly indica, or hybrids?
Since im really only familiar with indica one thing I noticed is that the seeds are pretty decent size.
Compared to the few sativa seeds ive been exposed too...

Can't u just get the skywalker og in your area? RP has it in seed also.
Im sure I can, I just like stuff that I don't see around too often.
Like the pandoras box.
A lot of dispensaries down here have the skywalker og
Maybe Ill toss it in under the third light in a while..
We'll see..

Most of the seeds I've dealt with have been hybrids, and some sativas. I ran a landrace afghan kush a few years ago which was pure indica, I would have called the seeds average. I had a couple big huge seeds from an unknown purple strain my brother gave me a few years ago but they hermi'd out bad at about 4 weeks.(nothing else in the tray hermi'd so I don't think it was me) My white widow I started running years ago originally came from a rather small freebie seed from G13 labs. Just my 2 cents I think seed size can be very dependent on genetics just like so many other things. I also bet we never get the biggest nicest seeds from any of the breeders out there. I'm sure those go into their personal stock.

FINALLY I got my seeds...
I got 23 of the same strain I am working with currently... Which is Black Ice OG...
Finally dropped the name of the strain:P
I started one journal a while ago of the black ice OG under my old screen name but it failed miserably as it was my first time working with hydroton really...
So I just went back to soil... Im fucking stoked though...
I got 13 seeds of a strain from reserva privada that hasnt been released to the public yet...
I don't even want to mention the name of them, because if I mess them up I dont want to give that strain a bad name before it even hits the gates.

I'm really excited about it because there is only handful of other people who are currently working with this strain and most of them are from amsterdam..
Ill be posting beginning germination pics later tonight and ill be keeping you posted as I go...
Man was it worth the wait...

Well here we go finally.
I started germination yesterday.
Still using the paper plate/towel method.
The clones were doing well! I wasn't happy with how long they look to root even though it was cold.
So im still keeping them around but they are not going to be put into the flowering room.
I know I can get a better pheno and I dont want to waste 2 months of HPS light on a bad pheno.

Plants look good welsh!

Well today I was doing some serious thinking...
With these extra black ice clones that im not going to flower, I am debating on using them to experiment with organics.

I went to multiple places today to look around and see what was available..
I stopped at a nursery, home depot, lowes...
Along with reading alot of stuff this is what I am thinking about doing

Getting a potting mix or compost or both? (I have been having trouble at deciding what to use as humus:wall:)
I went down to the nursery and talked with the worker for a good hour. (told her I was growing tomatoes)
She recommended that I used 2 bags of compost per one bag of azalea mix when growing outdoors...
Problem is, is that she gave that recommendation with the thought that i was mixing it with already existing dirt.
Which I am not... So im thinking of mixing one bag(3cubic ft) of potting mix per 2 bags of compost mix...
But I have no fucking idea...

I was thinking of picking up kellogs compost or E.B. Stone compost...
I dont know though, cause I have a weird paranoia for commercial products...
And I still dont know what potting mix to mix with it...
Anyways, what I do know is this:

I am going to get earth worm castings, coarse perlite, and sphagum peat moss for sure(If the humus doesn't have it already)
I am also getting kellogg organic tomato food with microbes(4-6-3), kelp meal(1-0-1), and alfalfa meal(2-0-3)(actually just going to use alfalfa from a feed store and grind it up).
Ill be adding a little bit of lime as well. Maybe some rock dust as ive read some good things about it...

There is an earth worm casting farm nearby which is nice too...

This is the ratio that I think im going to try...(to make 1 cubic foot;7.5 gallons)
1 part=5 gallons cause im using a 5 gallon bucket

1/2(2.5gal) part peat moss
1/2(2.5gal) part humus which is going to be about 3/5 compost/potting mix and 2/5 EWC
1/2(2.5gal) part perlite
3/4(1.5-2.5 tbs per gallon) cup lime
1(2-3 tbs per gallon) cup kelp meal
1.5(3 tbs per gallon) cups kellogg tomato food
1 tbs per gallon black strap molasses...

This recipe should last me through most of the life cycle but if not I plan on making tea's with kelp meal, EWC, and alfalfa meal...
While top dressing with kellogg tomato food and EWC as well...

I could be completely wrong by using this combination and if I am I hope someone speaks up...
Also, if you have any recommendations for a quality humus/compost mix recipe it would be greatly appreciated...

Im fairly new to organics...

Going to do some research on brewing teas tonight/tomorrow...
Trying to figure out a good water to meal/EWC ratio for teas.

Hope everyones having a good night!

So I'm thinking of going down to the worm casting farm and picking up some compost that they make and sell.
its a mushroom compost.
