[h=1]Ryan: Don't interfere with legalized medical pot[/h]By KRISTEN WYATT and NICHOLAS RICCARDI | Associated Press – Fri, Sep 7, 2012

DENVER (AP) — Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan says the federal government shouldn't interfere with states that have legalized medical marijuana.
The Wisconsin congressman tells KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs that he personally doesn't approve of medical marijuana laws. But he says that states should have the right to choose whether to legalize the drug for medical purposes.
In response to a reporter's question, Ryan said: "It's up to Coloradans to decide."
The interview was taped while Ryan campaigned this week in Colorado Springs and aired Friday.
Colorado is one of 17 states, plus the District of Columbia, that allow medical marijuana.
The Obama administration at first signaled that it wouldn't interfere with state-sanctioned marijuana distribution. But the Justice Department has since angered marijuana activists by shutting down dispensaries in California and Colorado.

[h=1]Paul Ryan’s campaign immediately retracts candidate’s support for medical marijuana[/h]

Campaign aides for Republican vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) busied themselves this weekend with telling reporters that the candidate “agrees with Mitt Romney” on keeping marijuana illegal, despite him telling a Colorado television station that he supports letting states flout federal laws on medical marijuana.

"Immediately following Ryan's public remarks, however, campaign aids told reporters that Ryan "agrees" with Presidential candidate Mitt Romney views opposing any liberalization of cannabis prohibition. Romney has previously stated: "I would not legalize marijuana for medicinal purposes. ... I know there are some on the Democratic side of the aisle who will be happy to get in your campaign. But I'm opposed to it, and if you elect me president, you're not going to see legalized marijuana. I'm going to fight it tooth and nail."

In Congress, Rep. Ryan in May voted against legislation that would have limited the federal government from interfering in states that allow for the physician-authorized use of cannabis."

oh shut the fuck up already freedomworks, we know its political suicide for a democrat to support legalization, that way the righties can call them "soft on the war on drugs" its dumbasses like you who actually believe a state can decide what humans do with their body, the states nor the Fed should be deciding these things, and when he uses rhetoric to sound like he's for personal choice and responsibility he again goes to the conclusion: people cannot decide for themselves, or are too stupid to understand my position, only if enough people have said opinion should it be made into law.

HAHAHA. Paul Ryan and Romney both don't like Medical Pot, but thats where you stop spinning. Its called the constitution stupid. Romney and Ryan will not get in the way of the 10th amendment. This is why we have state's rights. Romney Ryan will not interfere with medical pot whether they agree with it or not. Thats not there job. They stay out of it and focus on things like the economy. Obama is shutting down medical patients ALL OVER California and Colorado because he only knows 1 thing. Top down authoritarian government

Obama is shutting down down Pot Dispensaries all over, and all you can do is spin a lie from NBC, and a false narrative about what Romney might do. Mean while you turn the other cheek while B.O bullies and terrorizes medical patients everywhere. You're skull is full of mush.

Paul Ryan is just Mitt's "wingman." He is going to say the things Mitt strongly opposes In hopes to get more support from us, the pot smokers. Then he'll (mitt) flip the script once in office, sorta like Obama did and will take away ALL our legal rights.

I think both parties are seriously ignoring the pot vote or at the very least understimating it. I wonder why. What? 15 million regular users? or am I making that number up. A significant portion are under age but it still leaves a nice number.

Wow no flexibility with the grammar? Such an angry guy. :cuss: Is that the best you got? A misplaced apostrophe? It shows you have nothing intelligent to bring to the table. You're more desperate than the Obama campaign. Stop bitching like a whiny little school girl.

Holder already sent the memo. Right after operation fast and furious October 2009. Just like all the other memos; it has no legal statute. Its worthless. Are you really that stupid?
