Wages and gains are both qualifying income. They get taxed at different rates, but they do get taxed. cn
stop telling the truth!

capital gains taxes are not TECHNICALLY income taxes so its untaxed greed so they should be tarred, feathered, and all wealth confiscated and "redistributed"

if you insist on continuing to use facts and truth ill tell Barack on you!

polar bears can come off the endangered species list real easy...

I am solidly committed to the best way to achieve that. cn

But they can be deferred, right? Meaning if they choose to be paid in stock options, they dont pay the tax on those options until they cash them in?

Indeed. But stock options are worthless until exercised, and at that moment their gains become income which must be declared. Since options are a sort of call with a set award price, those gains are the sales price minus the contracted optioning price. Employees won't exercise an option if the sales price is less than the exercise price, unless of course they want to realize a loss. The only scenario for that might be spite during a divorce, or similar ... cn

Lefties are too fucking concerned with what other people have, in fact it's repulsive.
Instead of worrying about their own financial matters, they obsess about the people who have more.
We always hear how the super wealthy make it hard for the middle class and poor to succeed. Do you think people making $170,000 and over are bitching, hell no, they're too focused on making their lives comfortable. That class of people is not rich by any means but they're comfortable where they are at, or striving for more.

IDEA! If you feel you are not where you want to be financially, then I suggest you get your ass off the internet and start doing something about it. Because the continued whining and crying about others making it hard for you, will only keep you whiners and criers.
People pulling in that amount are more likely too busy making it to be busy enjoying it.

I am curious as to your pull yourself up by your bootstraps story that made you the over taxed success you are today?

Shitty public school with lots of security but not enough books?

College scholorship supplemented by working at Taco Bell 40+ hrs a week?

Laid off from your first real job with all the grad school debt plus a huge cut down to what unemployment pays?

Then the wife left taking half of your shit and then .... or did daddy set all this up for you? You strike me as one of those frat boys who think they are the shit because they got a job lined up somewhere with some buddy of daddy's that has done too many keg stands to understand that isn't something to be bragging about.

Where's the rest of the graph? You know, the part before the subprime mortgage fiasco when job creation was higher than anytime Obama has been in office?
Where is the graph that shows every President? It should show that job creation is normally rather high before all the bubbles burst.

Do you know why more money needs to be printed in order for hungry people to see any of it? Because 1% of the population is hoarding most of it.

Saying we are jealous of them, is like saying your brain is jealous of all the blood your tumor is using. It is supposed to be finite, but these tumors fucking keep too much for everyone else to get a chance to eat.

Abandon you seem a bit extreme, our government is more than willing to put food on the table all you have to do is show you can't. We're the only country I know that the majority of poor people are obese.

that is more a commentary on the types of food poor people can get, not the abundance thereof.

you can be poor as a churchmouse and still be fat in our society because the cheapest and most abundant (and according to michelle obama, the ONLY) foods available are quite prone to making you fat unless you are extremely athletic, or work a highly physical job.

the average poor person cannot afford the kind of diet that would prevent fatness, unless they have ample free time and money for gymnasium membership or spend their days workin in the feilds.

now that im living in town working a job that doesnt put my muscles to work im gettin a little thick myself.

Yeah cos going for a walk after work is just totally impossible.

hatin on fat people wont make you any skinnier.

for some, "goin for a walk" is not so simple, for example, people like myself that got only one leg that works. i am physically incapable of walking more than a few blocks before my right leg starts shaking and tries to buckle.

or do you propose that i push through the pain, and wind up back on the surgical table (which i cannot pay for) for another 6 months of recovery and another year of physical therapy to get to the same spot i am now, but this time without insurance to cover the costs?

between plumpness and penury, plumpness is more appealing.

Nice sentiment but as the good doc says, it isn't as clear as you try to make it.

First of all, the food is not fine, not even close to fine. A fat calorie is the cheapest calorie you can buy, protein the most expensive. You can purchase a meal for 2 bucks at a fast food place that has nothing remotely good in it. Try that from your local whole foods.

Lol, funny how we're one of the most popular exporters of food in the world for our size.

American food gives normal people the shits it's so full of processed, fake crap.

The irony of an American comparing food with somewhere that actually produces real food ;)

Fat calories are not as bad for you as you think. Carb protiens are. The way they break down in our liver creates many of the widespread diseases today. Our ancestors went 140,000 years eating meat and plants. Their skeletons are on average taller and have less bone disease. Our bodies were genetically formed on just meats and plants..not grains.

Although it is not totally grain free..the gluten free diet has proved time in and time out that people perform better while on it. I.E Novak Djokovic switched to a gluten free diet about 3 years ago. He was a sub par tennis player before switching. After switching, he has been the top player in the world.
