Well, I try to make it a practice to sell a light whenever I buy a new one so im not left with more lights than I have space for so my collection isnt as big as it appears. Sold my 180w extreme flower to get the kessil. Sold the kessil when I got the apache tech. Now im debating if I should keep or sell my 200w diamond...think I might just keep it

Ok, so details on the new light I just ordered, well preordered actually since it wont ship til closer to the end of the month. It's the Advanced LED Diamond Series XML. Newly redesigned model that is equiped with four 10w 2700k white cree xml chips spaced evenly between 4 grids of 3w r/g/b non-cree chips. The preorder unit is 150w actual power but they said they hope to have larger models in the next couple months too. I have a pic that was emailed to me but cant upload it from my phone at the moment. Also has new fans, drivers, heat sinks, air vents, etc.

leds are worse then I phones. every 6 months there is a new and improved version. i bought my advanced led diamond series about 6 months ago and i asked if there was any new models coming out and was told not for at least a year... right... leds are deffinately the wave of the future of growing but i wished there was one that could smoke my 1000 watt hps. to date i have used kessil, spectra, hydro grow, advanced, and i just started using a lumitex led set up. when i first started using leds 2 years ago i could get a 1/3 of what my 1000 watt hps could now i get 2/3. hopefuly soon leds will be so perfected it will rival the reputation of a 1000 watt hps at an affordable price.. viva la led revolution...

Yeah I know what you mean, with technology there's always going to be something better 6 months to a year down the road. Thats why I like to sell my old lights when I upgrade. I enjoy the latest cutting edge devices and dont mind upgrading if I dont feel like im getting ripped off. Ah looking for that mystical 1000w hps killer...I've heard reports of some doing the job but never anything substantial enough to make me believe it unquestionably. I do know that if you have enough quality led power you can accomplish this, but lets see it done with one panel. Vrry interested to hear about your current illumitex grow, can you share anything yet?

well I can tell you there is no saving in LEDs if you keep buying them at premium and reselling for half price! the saving is the fact that you dont have to spend more money for 10 years, just gotta be patient! And if it's not enough, just add more light, dont take any out!! hehe just my take on it, I believe I got my FEROs at the right time, I am convinced they will do at least as good as the HIDs... It is addicting to shop for new lights but I will try to do with what I got now, ... maybe a few supplemental lights in time!! nothing is coming out!

my latest purchase were the new FERO adjustable light (that feature is very cool to me, you can move the clusters as to concentrate the light in the middle when the plants are smaller and spread it more towards the edge of your room later in flowering) 340W actual draw and I am waiting the Kessil 350 Magenta, looking forward to see how this combo will do.

It's only (4) 10w chips, the rest are 3w. When I get home I'll post the pic of the unit they emailed me. They were saying something about improved fans, air vents, and a dual heatsink. The original diamond series runs very cool so I expect this one will as well.

Great point about always upgrading and not saving. I wont be getting any more until next year probably. I definitely would have liked to save my older leds instead of selling them, but the mrs already gives me a tough enuff time with my hobby as it is, selling them is my only justification for getting new ones.

That adjust a cluster model iis pretty cool, hope it works out great for you. I like the fero leds, they look like quality lights.

yup tons of cool new stuff coming out. Now the challenge for me is deciding how im going to be running this new xml model with the at120wr. Maybe ill try to do a separated comparison grow between the two and see which one takes the cake. No light bleeding over, a true comparison. By the way, theres plenty of space in the grow room and plenty of smoke to go around!

the illumitex led is deffinately different then any other led that i have used. there 5 watt chips but have 16 tiny square diodes . i have the 120 watt version from envirolux. i just started flowering a week ago and so far the plant is very healthy. i had it vedging under a kessil 350 for about 3 weeks. its way to early to tell how well its going to work. i plan on putting 2 plants under this led. one is about a week away from being ready. theres alot of hoopla over this light. you tube operation green vax. its crazy and DARPA is involved with these leds. i think they are a bit pricey for the amount of wattage you get but there claiming there technology gets the most photons to the plant making them much more efficient then any other led light out there. i was offered a money back guarantee so we shall see what happens in 60 days...

That's what I was thinking, it should be pretty similar in wattage but different spectrums and led chips...should be interesting, I'm definitely going to be doing this next round.

Impulse buys get me in trouble too, mainly at the local dispensary, ha! Went the other day for a gram and left with an eighth of girl scout cookies, another of white fire og kush, ken's gdp hash, and some lemon og kif...and I still didn't get everything I wanted...Peace and hi my name is puff and I'm addicted to new toys.

Please keep me posted on how your grow progresses. I've been very interested in illumitex since I learned about them and you're the only person I've come across to be using them. Is the 120w envirolux version the 3 bar i saw going for $795 on globalhardwarestore.com? I saw the darpa project green vax thing, everything seems to indicate they are cutting edge. Feel free to post updates here if you aren't planning on doing a journal. Good luck brother, those lights are uncharted territory but you could very well have stumbled upon some major booty.

This is the light I was talking about earlier. Looks cool and if it performs like the 200w diamond I'll be happy.

yes puffenuff that is the light i am talking about. i paid a little more from sunnydayhydro ( $ 900 ) because he was offering a 60 day trial period. i thought it was worth the extra cash to be able to return it if its a flop. i talked to another vendor of the product and he is telling me that the new pro model is going to be cheaper then the original model. we shall see how well it works. i only grow 2 strains and know exactly how they perform under hps as well as different brands of leds. i was expecing some stretch because its a lower watt model but a week into flower and absolutely no stretch. so far so good.i will keep you posted.
