yes Matt that is exactly what I did. My actual proof is in living and doing. and thats that. when i water the leaves of my plants or grass during the intense light it surely burns

Osmosis is the movement of solvent molecules through a partially permeable membrane into a region of higher solute concentration, aiming to equalize the solute concentrations on the two sides.

like i said earlier, IF the plant has a "hairy" leaf like most squash plants and the water droplet sits on top of the hairs then burn is possible through magnification of sunlight through the water droplet as there is a layer of air between the water and plant leaf so the water cannot act as a coolant.

water is an amazing component in its abilities to store and remove heat. stand outside on a 30 degree F day with no clothes on, yeah you will be cold as hell but it will take about 30 for mild hypothermic reactions to start taking place and up to 3 hours for full blown hypothermia to set in.

now jump into a pool of 30 degree water, it will literally take less than 5 minutes for full blown hypoothermia to set in and shortly after death.

same goes for heat. 120 degree air compared to 120 degree water. well this heat that could potentially be burning the plant leaf will be absorbed by the water as long as the water is actually sitting on the plant leaf, if it is suspended by the hairs then it can cause burn, but Mj is not a "hairy" leaved plant.

again im not saying that it is IMPOSSIBLE, i am saying the chances of it happening are extremely low.

damn dude thats one pimped set up. so its a good idea to mix in some 2700k as well?
i like a full spectrum.

that whole setup cost me around 25 bucks to make the hood and about 25$ in bulbs (not counting the 105w CFL's) i dont recoment the bigger CFL's as someone stated earlier you lose lumen per watt output the higher in wattage you get.

do you have a fan going? a PC fan blowing on them would be perfect. it will help strengthen the stem a bit and cause the plant to grow a little more bushy opposed to lanky. also (not right now) might want to look into LST if you need to keep them short and maybe make a ScROG screen since you lighting is still not ideal.
you need to use a oscillating fan

the light behind the lant is not touching it it jus looks like it bongsmilie
they are looking very good, i would only give then ph water for the next week
it will help build root mass as the roots look for food
and let the soil dry out as the roots will also look for water , you will see a slight gap round the pot then it time to water

spraying the plants with a oscillating fan on the plant will stop leafs from burning
spraying leafs under a 600 hps with oscillating fan amend between the plants and light should stop nearly all leaf burn

doesent matter if the fan oscillates or not.any breeze will do.

Why does he need to PH his water? the soil he pours the water into will buffer the PH level to whatever PH the soil is within 20 min. do not bother PHing your water on a soil grow its a waste of time.

have you not read any of the previous pages. MISTING PLANTS WILL NOT CAUSE LEAF BURN!!!! fuck people cmon

i`m with matt here, i grow in soil and never really bother with ph and its never been a problem, i would let the tap water sit first is all, and as for misting with lights on theres no need really, they`ll take it from the soil...

yes i agree if your using city water it has chlorine in it, set some out to let the chlorine evaporate. i use well water and don't have that problem

he is telling a grower to point fan at the plants without oscillating the fan ,this can cause wind burn and dehydration
and how much heat comes off a cfl
with a oscillating fan can really burn the leafs
i have been a grower for years, so you get to know what works and what does not
he maybe right about the ph the water but
i have all way done it, and got good results

think i seen a pc fan being mentioned alright, this has been done by alot of growers and no bad results, there are some people that have set them within an inch of the plants hence the stories, but to me this is the same as haveing lights too close, you learn these things, like judgeing an inch by eye.........

new grower is a senseable guy/gal, i`m sure they know it`s just for air circulation and to shake the plant a little to build up stem..

i think you are set in your ways a little tho, you have to grow as a grower, you have a system that works thats fine, but you can always set aside a plant to experiment with, be it sog, scrog, lst etc etc.. its fun, and really challenging too...

yes some cfl set ups can get hot, my own it pretty warm i`m lucky i`m in the right hemisphere if you get me, his may be small but you can`t rule it out..

topping works well for me, 15ltr pot soil 4oz per plant
if i get the root mass, top the plants a couple of times, i have get 3-4oz off a plant have had more
have 6 under a 600w light in soil
so yes you are right i have been set in my ways
i would like to try bubble system again
with soil when i report i can leave for up to 10 day without watering
just basic check every day, when its up and ruining, I spend 1 hour week in there
just grow and bloom nutes its so easy

Your plant is suffering from a light deficiency. Light is tuebmain food source for all.plants everything else is just an additive.
