Has Anyone Heard of White Ice?

if i were to try a scrog what would the difference from these pictures be? would it make any difference in the amount harvested dry?
Well you're just doing one massive full out grow. The difference here is that we have only a small box 4 x 2 x 2.5 feet in size whereas you have a large amount of room to allow the plants to do their natural thing. What a scrog is is a method of growing plants by strapping them down to the net and then only let the flowering tops grow upward and fill in the space where the full plant would have been. The plant is growing horizontally instead of vertically.

like is the point that you end up with the branches growing across the screen causing like a million smaller buds to grow? obviously you dont end up with large colas right?
Well actually if you search some scrogs on RIU you can find a whole bunch of people who've grown huge colas. The point is that you allow lots of flowering tops to grow but starting from a smaller height, so only the flowering tops are given room to grow. :leaf::leaf::leaf:

noticed last grow when i tied down my branches to fill up the stems, it ended up growing branches off the branches, and the only thing i was dissapointed by was that the buds werent as large as id hoped theyd be,,,,but they werre the bomb none the less....instead of 14 large fist thick buds on branches, i got 100 smaller buds
Well Jordis this is the part that we say... we don't know. This is our first attempt at scrogging and at growing at all. We're still figuring out the tricks and learning through experience. We've done SO much research on all this though in order to try and insure that our babies stay healthy and grow nicely.

so when you go with the scrog, do you topp or crop the plants? or is that usless with this method?
Well we do regular topping which makes the branches shoot up like crazy. And of course there's training the branches to grow up through the right part and then tying down the stems to the net, so that there is an even distribution of light to most parts of the plant. It takes a shit ton of work. Several hours in fact, every time we need to tie down the new stems and train the other ones.

Hope those answer your questions! Your grow looks great so far. You should post some pics of that sea of green.

no prob big dog. ive done this plant several ways. the most productive and highest yielding way ive found with white ice is by veg her out a while (2 months hydro in a 5 gallon dwc bucket) and doing alot of pruning. i then scrogged the fuck out of her( she was my old mother plant) and put her by herself in my 3x3 grow room. i bought a nylon trellis net from home depot and tied her down really really well. this opened her up and provided more light to create more budding area. she is a very strong plant that can definatly handle alot of nutes and abuse. she is very resistant to pests and disease. i have let her go for 10 weeks but this next go around im going to let her go for 11. the phenotype i have is sativa dominant. this plant responds well to supercropping and topping/pruning and is a high yielder.

Yo Cream, thank you so much man. We did things a bit different but actually the same way, meaning that we did a Scrog in DWC (coincidence?) but our girls are actually indica dominant. Please check out our grow and tell us what you think (Link below). Thanks so much man!

For all you White Ice growers out there, does anyone know the flowering time of this plant? The ladies have been flowering for about 31 days now and things are looking sweet. Any clue as to how much longer? Check the link in the sig for upcoming pictures.

It was meant to say that we like. White Ice is typically an Indica dominant strain but apparently this girl got the recessive Sativa gene, that's the only reason its taking so long. And if you want to see icy just click on our thread below and feel free take a gander.

This was an entertaining thread lol. Still no pics of the white ice I was looking for. I read from seedfinder it was a 50 day finisher which is the only reason I would try it.

I've got White label White ice going, some variety in phenos but not bad value really.... Not harvested yet...... About 45 days into flower and Im glad I cloned a few before flowering..... Two are keepers as they have very short internode spacing and showing good trichome production even in lower shaded sites. All ok but as with any seed grow you never know exactly what yr gonna get..... What did Forrest gump's mum used to say?.... Wise woman! Btw I estimate 8weeks under 12/12 many new growers do not allow for the time between photoperiod switch and the actual beginning of flowering, at least ten days IMO so expect results in unrealistic time.... (I know I did!)

Btw for any new growers looking at strains I should mention that they survived some pests (gnats) and inaccurate nute mixing in veg and still went on to flower vigorously, other expensive strains were severely stunted in same stress conditions.

A good all rounder from what I see although none smoked yet....... 45 days quoted by seedbank means approx 60 days under 12/12 if mature and unstressed! ..... I wonder if guy doing 12 week 12/12 has light leaks?
