I don't know, my man. 8" for the reflector leaves you with 25". That's my minimum distance from light to plants top. Bro, even if you can keep your plants under 1 foot, you're still only 13" from the light. I hate to say this, but I don't think this is going to work, man. If your plants are under 1 foot (which I doubt can be done), you will need WAY more plants per sq ft than your pipes are settup for to get any kind of decent yield. And, 12" of clearance from a 1000 is just not enough. You'll cook and eventually kill the plants. It's one thing to have a 4 foot plant get that close, but a little 1 foot plant could never take that.
I know you're going to do it anyways. That makes me sad. You've worked so hard. I don't want to see you waste a buttload of time, only to have to change the settup and start over.
I'll say this one more time and then leave you alone. If you can possibly do it, sell the 1000's. Buy T-5's with the flowering bulbs. The plants can grow to within a few inches of the T-5's without harm. This means you can grow way bigger plants and won't need to space them so close for good yield. You won't need ducting or ducting fans. The T-5's are only 2.5" thick...even more room. This will work, and work well. If you go 1000's you're going to fight it and fight it...only to end up buying T-5's anyways...if you're not so frustrated you just give up (but I doubt that "giving up" is in your DNA). That's it. I said it. Do what you're going to do. I'll root for you no matter what.

I didnt put on the hoods ,they are to wide. I have 32-33" from pipe 2 bulb. I also have the stands pre-fabbed for 5 more pipes. Im looking at doing 10 pipes now and a small space between in the middle. I have a low profile container with ropes on either side to help move large amounts of light weight gear from one end to another. I took down the pipes and placed them on far end to do final lighting, wiring, venting and floor to roof clean. It only took 15 minutes to disassemble and move since i made the stands 2 piece now. I got all ballast screwed up top and 80% wire clean n neat. All wire is run threw the joices so its very tidy and completely out of site and out of the way.
I have 1 1000 watt burning with a 7" air king clip on just blowing threw it and you can touch it. Its pretty warm but no problem holding your hand on it for a few seconds. With 1100 cfm cooling just the bulbs , im sure they will be very cool to the touch. I got some fogger type fittings I may install in every other joist as well , so if i encounter anything that needs to be sprayed it will make a breeze( probably getting a head of myself).I'll take some progress pics tommorow, heres something to look at of some other nightmare room 4'x6'x8' 2000 watts 30 plants,scrubber and 2 38" tall fans, underfloor intake AND exaust. Intake was rooms dimensions boxed and plumbed outside exaust was 6"-10" for smooth flow due to a 90 degree elbow then exited out of intake box then 15' to outside.
This is 48" wide finished at 37" tall(tallest), flowered at 10"-12"
Hopefully with ww x bb flowered at clone or 2 days wont be taller or tying could be a pain.

Been busy working. It takes 4x longer 2 do shit in there . I dont like doing shit half assed and i figured i could set this up quicker and now have realized I have to make sure every aspect down there is perfect and also have a back up plan to go with it.
A couple issues im dealing with;
The tar paper has some tears from construction. I have shop vac'd the space again. Mon i am going to look at a pond liner and another type of heavy duty floor linear that is much stronger .
I am not happy with my sump pit. Although it works , There is no room for error or a few inches of water. I dug out a larger area around the pit approx. 6x6 and around 2' deep that is actually around the current pit. Im straining rock from down there to cover that area and replacing the vertical flexible pipe from the pump to larger diameter pvc pipe and putting it on its own breaker(its on a cord now) so there is no accidental unplugging. I also have to frame the pit area for a floor to regain that space for mothers and clones as well as being more tidy.
Where i dug the trench for the resovoirs need to have a 2x8 ran at the wall (sort of a mini retaining wall) and 3x8' sheet of wood just incase the sand i layed shifts or sinks a bit it will be easy to shim to make true again.
I think im going to cap one of the the tubes . Cap the other end and put in 1/'2 thru hole fittings at desired level 4 overflow and fill the tubes and wet the pots. I know from experience of drip line plugging, trickling back down the spagetti tube etc. With virtually no access once in full flower this would be a pain in the ass to get to. I have to do a little more research, but seems simple enough. I figure similar to heath robinson tubes.
A friend is going to custom build a tin ducting box that will branch to the lights and in the joyce's to minimize any air reduction as well as height restrictions. He is considering a chamber that could vent heat to the existing ducting to heat my house. If i go that route i cant use the cool tubes as partial room exaust too.
I need to get a sensor as well that will alert me of any water in the space. That will make me really happy just incase all my planning fails and some how still end up with water rising above my second sump pit.
I dont have any good progress pictures yet of interest and been doing the long weekend family thing. . I am going back down into "nightmare" tommorow hopefully if i can dig up some eneregy after my yardwork and other stuff. If not then im crawling around on monday for another 4 hrs of hell lol.
Pic update in a day or 3. Time to smoke some hash and do a shopping list.

Great project man, very inspiring. I am planning for a somewhat confined space with easier lighting and this project makes me breathe a sigh of relief to know there is someone out there way more ambitious doing something way more extreme. I think you will pull it off, though, you obviously have a head for this sort of thing!

Def agree about the T-5's statement - In the few years I have been doing this successfully I have found that trying to plan the op all the way through will help you achieve the best yield and quality possible for your environment. KEEP IT STRESS FREE. But tons of plants in a small short area with little working area sounds stressful?
Also, what is your plan to repel mites/pests? Again with the planning ahead theory, if you end up in the crawl space for the long run make sure to setup some sort of defense because thats an easy in for pests. (AZAMAX every 20-30 days drench maybe)

the t5's i have no experience with and it doesnt sound like very high yielder. There flouresent lights? I wish i had some dimmable 600's but dont so 4 1000watts it is. I built a quick 20 pot rubbermaid chamber for some seeds that are 4" now i wanted to put in the pipes and the damn thing has a hole in it....what next..jeeze.
So i ended putting them in a tube . Tommorow i will just feed them and let run off goto sump a few times a day till my parents go out and i can bring another rubbermaid down there.
