sometimes but i been using the same nutrients for so long i dont always have to check it..when i do check my run off i take some of the soil or coco and stir it in with the run-off and get my readings.

FF:OF has served me well so far, plenty of nute burn at first but that was my fault for not realizing that the soil has all the nutes built in for a week or two. After that my plants have become a nice dark green and drink plenty of water

MG Moisture Control.Have to add a little perlite but i get massive stalks compared to when I used FF.Your mileage may vary.

Hey bro I only check my runoff when I have problems with my plants. I use the FFOF soil and all six of their nutes, I sprinkle in some AN Carboload every once in a while. FF is very user friendly for beginers. Is there a problem going on with your plants? Your FFOF soil does come with ferts in it so like said they can go a few weeks without feeding but from there just take it easy. My best advice is if you don't notice any problem with your plants let them do their thing in the soil. You can't get everything perfect when growing because every change you make will affect other things. Don't make to many changes bro you will be fine with FFOF soil and their nutes just start it off at 1/4 strength and bump it up from there deppending on how much your plants can take. Every plant is different bro so keep that in mind. I have started seedlings from tap root all the way to finish right in FFOF and never had a problem with my soil, my main problem that I had and I see is PH of the water. PH is imparitive! I use Distilled water also just FYI

OK, man...like a previous poster said, sounds like you've got a salt lock situation, or a soil-too-hot situation. I've heard that the "hot" soil thing can be taken literally, too...some kinds can compost, and literally burn your roots. Idunno about your brand of dirt, never used it...
I have sometimes used the FF bloom additives (Open Sesame, Cha Ching, etc), and every time, my plants loved em. I do not think they suck. However, I think they are quite concentrated, and I KNOW they are very salty. Meaning: I dilute the manufacturer's recommended dosage somewhat (by at least 20%, more if they're in early flowering.) It also means that when using FF products, I have to flush more often than I would otherwise, because of the epic salt buildup. It's like the great salt flats; I could start a side business as a salt miner. It's SALTy, I tell ya!
So my questions to you are: how long was it since you last flushed when you started to see symptoms? Did you use as much of it as they advise? Is it possible that, as some other posters have suggested, you are seeing a reaction to having fed soil that already had food in it, earlier in flowering?
As already suggested, I'd say test your runoff and adjust (dilute) your nutrient solution accordingly.

its all about what you like in the way of fertilizers. i hear good things from some but some say its organic-ness dropped their final weight by about 15% over the use of synthetics. theyre great if you like natural and organic, but you just have to figure out what you like.

I thought the problem was fox farm but now I'm thinking it's the soil. I've been using Promix (orange). I took a small plant only about 2 weeks old from clone, put in a 5gal bag. Now I have not given the plant any nutrients at all, it was in a dixie cup before i transferred into the five. I decided to flush the plant to see if it was my soil or the nutrients and when i tested the EC from the runoff it came out at 6.0. My plant should be completed burned at this point but its not it actually looks really good. Now is this something to worry about or are the salts in the soil running out and my EC meter is picking it up? any advice?

That's cus you are a ghetto grower. What is your fav Miracle grow? There is nothing wrong with FFOF that is why so many people use it! If you fuck up a plant using FFOF you have to be a very in-experianced grower! Fox Farm soil and nutes are very beginer friendly and as long as you can read and follow simple directions you will be fine. Like any nutes start at 1/4 and bump up from there if your plants can handle it.

I say they change the formula! The good stuff didn't have twigs in it! It has twigs in it now! At first I thought it was a bad batch now I think they change their formula and didn't tell no one didn't put it on the bag thats worst than putting out bad shit down right dirty and almost criminal! WTF you mean follow the directions? 1/4 strength is not going by the directions and then they contradict themselves! That's if you can read? What are you a grow shop owner? Cuz they will miss lead you and lie to you! Cuz they know the more F'ing trouble the more money you got to spend! Their advertising friendly and helpful staff is a bunch of B.S,!!! I was better off with out them before I was legal I would grow in rock wool cuz I couldn't get good dirt and I could get rock wool with free shipping if I spend over $200.00 can't get dirt with free shipping! Plus no sale taxes lower prices free shipping! I live on SSi dis. Once I figure out your ripping me off that it!

LOL I read your post bro but I really didn't feel it warranted a response. Any grower that knows anything knows that you always start out any nutes lower than what is recommended on the bottle. You can't reverse nute burn once it has happened. You always start out lower and bump up slowly due to each MJ strain being different! Use whatever MG soil you want to bro and move on, I really don't care what you grow in.
And Hellraizer is right. It is common sense that people are telling you and you just don't get it.
