I'm growing it for my first time now. Haven't flowered it yet. Harborside San Jose gets this strain in about once every month or two. Strongest strain they've ever had. I've seen some that has lab tested at 24.5% THC.

Now for the strawberry fields. It is a 100% indica strain that originated in vermont. around 7 weeks flowering time. Breed
for the taste and smell of strawberries, and to be able to finish before the first snow fall in Vermont. High yielder. from what I understand, the strain was given it's name because the breeder grew it for many years in with his strawberry plants, and claimed that the original scent of strawberries was intensified because of the way he grew the plants together. nevertheless, if his theories were correct or not, the worked plants in his field had developed a scent and smell that matched his freshest strawberries to a tee. But the high was not ideal for his prefrences(needed to be more cerebral). He took an outstanding pure haze male and crossed it with his best female flowering in his fields. These are essentially strawberry cough seeds, but not the clone that's going around. The SC pheno clone was found in sorting through dozens of these seeds that were given to kyle
kushman. the SC clone yields very heavily from it's mother strawberry fields(which I was told the real deal is now extinct). expect a minimun of five to six ounces per sc plant,
and the real deal finish around 7.5 -9 weeks depending on what you look at to harvest. each branch must be supported with at
least one stalk, or the weight of the buds will cause your limbs and buds to hang on the ground

nebu

regarding the Strawberry Cough heritage, Strawberry Fields x Haze as I was told. Though Kyle (with whom I worked @ HighTimes and who provided the
clone & details to me) had said it was a lonely (& lowly, he thought at first) clone, not seeds, which he received. He did not expect much (the 'breeder' had a very small, humble environment) and accepted the clone only to be polite ~ upon arriving home after a fairly long drive he opened the box where he had placed the clones and was suprised to
catch the strong aroma of strawberries. At that moment he thought that it just might be something special. (which it really is!)

Wow. That's completely different than the cut I have. Mine is 80/20 sativa dom.

i grew 5 out of a feminized 5 pac.one was the ultimate herme and pulled but the othe 4 did well.two pheno types, two were a bit more stretchy sweet and sour dank ,tight buds, the other two were 100% indica, smelled of strawberry and lemon thc ,real crazy compact buds large.did 10 weex flower.not as potent as my purple kush and og 18 that i'm presently finishing.

In SE Michigan this strain is fairly common, even before the fem seeds came out, and I've seen wildly different results between growers, indoor/outdoor, soil/hydro; etc.
Grown well in dirt or outdoors ( or hydro-organic maybe ) it has a remarkable taste. It's very subtle compared to say a pungent blueberry, but memorable, more like an aftertaste that stays with you after the smile is done. Sometimes I crave it just for the taste.
The high is creative and cerebral, and can keep you awake at the end of the day. This was my favorite daily smoke until we legalized medical pot and the selection has just gotten out of hand - but if a proper oz fell into my lap I'd snag it today!

The main issue is that I've seen a lot of cough that was not grown well at all, and that can affect taste and potency, and because it can be grown easily outdoors full cycle in Michigan, there's a lot out there with awesome taste, but little potency. I look for indoor cough that stinks before you open the bag.

As far as grow tips - this us a fairly easy plant to work with, just make sure it has plenty of sugars and a real good flush. I don't know anyone who has grown from seeds, so u may also be working with an offshoot pheno.

Right on guys thanks for the info. I can definitely smell the strawberry smell even from when I first got them as clones. My plants are kind of stretchy, but I'm guessing thats part of the sativa genes?? This is only my second grow but first with a sativa dominant strain. I am using a 6x6 grow tent with 2400 watts and it is filled with colas which will hopefully be holding some huge Budz in a few weeks. I'm only on my 2nd week of flower so we'll see. Has anyone else actually seen the plant growing? is this strain supposed to look a little stretchy? I'll post some pics tonight to see what you guys think. Thanks again stoners:leaf:

All sativas will stretch, and the only way (I think) to both have control over the plant's height and increase your yield is to tie your branches down so the big ones, including and especially the main stalk, are eventually going horizontal instead of vertical. This can be done by tying branches to steaks, tomato cages, or string looped through holes on the top rim of your planter, and every bud site will start growing up, increasing your yield dramatically compared to just letting your plant grow straight vertical . Another way to do this is to tie a trellis (large holed net) about 8" below where you want your canopy, then you can bend the plant below the net and the buds will pop above it, but not the big stalks. You can even "top" your plants early on to give you more main stalks per plant. Research pruning and bending and height will never be an issue of potential grief again!

someone must have been yanking kyles leg....

the strawberry fields is from vermont. afghan was the most common indica here , and was possibly the first... so it is thought the strawberry fields is of aghan heritage.
however, while it's possible the guy grew them with his strawberry plants, i think thats BS.
Also, that breeder did not do any crossing to haze. The strawberry fields was shared, and made its way into the hands of another breeder, who decided to use the pure indica for a hybrid, hence the haze cross.
Cotton Candy, is an afghan x haze .... that hybrid has similar qualities to strawberry cough.

the strain was shared , then hijacked, then breed and genetically bottlenecked by Dutch Passion.

only a few people have the original strawberry fields.... hopefully it will make a come back.

My SC didnt like the topping i gave it..I topped it for 4 colas and the bottom 2 branches didnt want to grow. The two tops freaked out and are growing crazy. Just started flowering, I guess we will see what happens.

I just harvested some Dutch Passion SC and it's nothing special.. the buzz I mean. But the smell and taste is very good. It actually fucking smells like strawberries especially when it's growing. I'd have to agree with the anti anxiety part, it's just a cool relaxed buzz

i dont grow strawberry regularly, i know someone who grows it more often and loves it. i wouldnt say it is nothing special. all bud is special to me haha. its just that this strain does not produce an "in your face" high. you can smoke a j and sit back and relax.
its also very functional, ive gone shopping and had nice restaurant dinners on this one.

ya I guess I shouldn't say it's nothing special period, I should say for me personally as everyone is looking for something different... I'm sure there are phenos better than the one I got. You're right it's not gonna knock you on your ass and it's very functional

Here's my strawberry cough in a 6x6 tent under 2,000 watts. I will be adding another 400 watt light for the last few weeks to hopefully add some weight
