I have a plant about 2-3 weeks old indica and it looks like it is starting to show sex. I just put it into 18/6 about 2 or 3 days ago. it has been on 24 hour lighting. I just wanted to know if it would show sex and start flowering under 18/6 lighting cycle?

It won't flower under 18/6 light. Unless its an auto flowering strain. How certain are you that it's showing sex, and not pre flowers? Pics?

yes it will start to flower under 18/6 when the plant is sexually mature.
usually 6-8 weeks of vegging and you will see preflowers.
The most common method is to force flower a labeled clone to determine the sex, rather than the incorrect method of forcing the seedling and then reverting it to vegetative growth again.
If you are a seedling grower who does not clone, or a grower who has no seperate vegetative and flowering grow spaces, the easiest method is simply to wait for the preflowers (primordia), and sexual maturity to appear while the seedling is still in vegetative growth. In other words, if you wait until they are 6 to 8 weeks old, most plants will show you their gender without any forcing.
Seedling growers who don't clone are really missing out on the full potency potential of their finished crop whenever they force their seedlings before they've become sexually mature.

man your being silly lol a plant showing signs that it is sexually mature and it actually flowering are 2 different things. A plant that is kept in a veg cycle for a long time will show signs (preflowers) of its sex but it will not actually 'flower' because 18/6 is a vegetative light cycle. Keep your plant on 18/6 forever and see what happens if you dont believe me lol

Anyone have any advice on weather or not I should start flowering this plant? It is only about 3 weeks old its about 5-6 inches tall and really bushy. Indica dominant.

Show sex? yes. Flower? no.

Just curious, but what kind of soil/lights are you using?

Flower your plant whenever you want to. If you do it before it shows its preflowers, theres supposedly a chance of stressing the plant? But I for one don't really believe that. Just remember when you flower it, it'll grow 2-3 times its current size, so if you have space limitations keep that in mind. Also flower the plant when its nice and healthy, and not when its sick or in bad shape.

I find that very insulting and whats more i find it ridiculous that you are misinforming people. I seriously dont understand how someone with so may posts can have so little knowlegde. Now, on planet Earth flowering a marijuana plant is impossible under 18/6 (unless ofcourse its autoflowering). Marijuana can and does show preflowers in a vegetative light cycle but as Iv stated countless times it WILL NOT 'flower' aka 'bud out' until a flowering light cycle is induced So maybe you want to catch up on your reading because you sir clearly dont know what your talking about.

Whats more Iv reported this thread to the mods because it really gets to me when people are so adament on info that is INCORRECT.

Good day.

Im using dirt from the back yard. It works i had a field outdoors last year. And CFL's I just added a 3rd 23w cfl to it about 5 min ago. Noticed it looked to be showing sex. I have 6x42w and 6x23w for flowering.
