Organic - Dwc grow club

After doing a lot of reading on this site, I've come to the conclusion that MOST people who go organic go SOIL.

I'm not saying one is better than the other... hell I have no idea... I'm a newbie. And I'm not one of those 'Organic or Die' people, just trying it out this way for the first time. Next time will probably be regular hydro or SOIL. Who knows...

There are some HYDRO / DWC / ORGANIC people out there so I wanted to start a thread. Personally, I'm doing a 1st DWC, Organic in a Stealth 6-seat Bubbler with Botanicare nutes.

Probably won't be many, but I figured I would start one. :weed: so, if you're ORGANIC HYDRO... Here's the spot !!!

Feel free to rip the pic on my sig.

Here's one to chew on, from another post regarding organics...

I never heard that but you may be right.
It's weird though, because lets say you buy a can of supermarket BRAND canned tomatoes and you check the nutritional content, it's pretty shitty.
Then, if you make a jump up to a regular supermarket tomato (the ones that are in the produce section that you put in a bag), the nutritional content is higher.

THEN... if you make a jump up to a specialty shop that sells genuine ORGANIC TOMATOES, the nutritional content is even higher.

So, I'm wondering why you think, or why for that matter... Does Organic Weed not give you a righteous buzz ??

Anyone have any input ?

I'll be happy to give any input about my grow. I'm using Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Grow & Pro Bloom, along with Cal-Mag+ and Liquid Karma. And I use a generic liquid down.
I'm growing out of 5 gal buckets rapped with aluminum tape.
I have two White Widows in their 6th week of flowering. I'm using a 400W HPS with a vented hood.
Two airstones per bucket off of a dual output WalFart airpump.
There are two 3" A/C ducts pulling in fresh air via a 3" PVC pipe going into my crawl space.
Four fans total. Blowing in fresh air, Exhausting air out of the tent, one on the floor & another between the plant tops & the light.
I don't use timers because I like to say "Goodnight!"
Oh yea, this is my 1st grow!!!
Peace Out!!!

What do you think of the statement about Organic nutes in my 2nd post ?

I'm also wondering what some of the veterans think... Hopefully someone will chime in!!!

I think most of the liquid nutes are organic. I just checked Fox Farm and they're organic.

I believe in that statement. Good in & good out!

Sweet man. It does smell funky eh ?
I'm not married to the whole organic idea, but it's fun for a 1st grow. I really can't see how someone can tell the difference in the stone. I bet if I had 2 plants of the same strain and on 2 different days, had them smoke each one, they couldn't tell the difference. I'm pretty sure on that, or at least 75% of the people that SAY they could tell a difference couldn't.

Whatcha think ?

I too don't know what the affects are either way and I tend to agree with you. I'm not using "organic" nutes because of a better high or even a cleaner bud. I'm using organics because that's what the hydro shop advised me to use to help lower & stabilize my pH.

As far as smell, mine definitively smell like pot.

Peace!

Bro the original Dwc grow club was actually founded upon a complete supplement of organic nutes. Botanicaire to be exact. Nothing but great results to be exact. PH is the key to whatever nutes being used. Nice on the organic tho. Never really seen much of a difference of taste frm soil to hydro using the organic.
Good job tho dude.

Yeah, but when I log on to that thread... It's all about how some people have left the board, and how much they're missed... and blah, blah, blah.
I WANT TO TALK ABOUT DWC.
Plus, I thought since there's so many different ways to grow and most people marry soil with organic, that it was time to start a new group ?

Why follow ?

Totally Botanicare right now... Pure Blend Pro (VEG & FLOWER) & Liquid Karma. Things are coming along nicely.

I went to the aquarium store today and purchased another Tetra Whisper 100 Air Pump and a few stones. Now I've got 6 airstones in 6 tubs... Things are lookin' up.

Just a slight bump...

Thought I'd semi-revive this thread.

My organic path has led me to very fruitful success so far. Check out my pics and growth rate if you like.

Anyone else having great success with Organic DWC ?

Cheers & Happy Easter...

This whole organic/chem thing is an issue that got sorted out pretty well on another board I'm on so if you don't mind I'll paraphrase what was said. I would add that seven 5 star growers and the site founder his/herself were the one leading the conversation.

Organic is particularly well suited for DWC setups because the plants more fully and efficency metabolize the nutrients which helps keep ph under control in a system where extreme ph fluctuations are next to unavoidable.

This is not to say that chem nutes are bad. I personally use Dutchmaster Gold with GREAT success, I just know that ph adjustment is going to be more frequent.

Someone posted above me that Ph is everything and truer words have not been spoken.

As far as taste goes, if the plants were properly flushed with fresh clean water, I have a hard time believing that taste could be that different.

i am definitely for some organic nutes next time. Im starting out on my first grow ever right now.. running DWC 10 gallons in 14 gallon tubs. Im gonna clone and then go through with the clones..

im using humboldt nutes for now.. and NOT the organic line.. that''s like $150 for the 2 pack gallons size.

But i definitely want to get some organic next time.. maybe FF cha line.. or the budblast/big bud/bud blood from AN.

Did you use any flushing solution or just water?
