LED Lights Vs. HPS

I've never seen a worthwhile LED Grow. Just like I say to CFL growers...put up or shut up.

Lemme see a fantastic LED Grow. Don't you think that if it were working or worth defending there would be people growing with them? I mean, people grow with CFL's and at least they don't feel ashamed and put up their pictures. They usually run out and buy an HPS afterward, but at least it wasn't so pathetic they wouldn't show pictures.

I think its so funny when people freak out,,,all hyper hahahha... you stick with HPS ,,enjoy your power bills, bulb replacements...
New technology is what its about..people are growing with them ..ever look at the Led grow lights selling on ebay???? there selling like mad!!
Go sit under your heat lamps and get all hyper mad I am going to chill with new 120 watter thats as good or better then your 600 watter....hahaha

Okay. I'm going to keep growing top grade marijuana and you go run along and play with your lite brite. Post pictures of your grow, we are all interested to see it.

are you completely mental? yes people are growing with them and buying them but they wont produce the quality buds and penetration that a hps will.

I will send you a you tube link with my whole setup.."note" I follow cali state laws for growing! So don't expect to see a farm.. but a nice quanity for MMJ for personal use!
I will not supercrop this time either...send you the link in a month or two

Well it seems noone has any pictures of good bud grown with led'S. but there sure talking them up a lot. Come on let's see the led's in action.

" do you under stand what I am saying or should I try French this next time" ...man some poeple on here are just not very smart.

Yeah well you gotta understand. I've searched youtube and they got nothing impressive. You claim you'll have something up in a month or two? That would lead us to believe you've never grown with LED's and you're talking outta your ass.

what they see is impressive to them because they dont know what a real healthy not-stretched plant looks like. anyone who buys one of those LEDs probly had never had HID before

By me saying 2 post ago " this time I will not supercrop my plants" make a connection to your statment saying I never have used LED's ? Come on man, lets pay attention ..think about what we write and if it makes sense at all.
I really like this site but seems theres alot of low educated kids on here. I am not going to write on this post for awhile ..it seems what ever I say it dose not hit home! its really kinda funny like trying to talk to a drunk at a local bar..hahahah but anyways try and relax think staight and if you have not completed High School yet please go back and get your GED.

Says the guy with no pictures or proof. He said that you've never grown with HID. So you go back, slow down, read the post and think about your response and how it makes any sense. We don't doubt that you've grown with LED's (Well, I doubt it since there's no pics), but you haven't grown with HID and don't know what you're missing.

Having grown with HID's I don't think I could ever handle the lack of production from LED's, particularly when it comes to flowering. They are actually pretty decent for veggin', but they don't flower plants worth a shit.

thats not cannabis though we know LED's can grow some plants better than HID's its just we have not seen any good bud grown under LED's that are worth anything.

Yeah it sure is strange that only HPS can only grow it well! Maybe the goverments behind it!

Where are the pictures?

Where's the RESULTS to back the use of LED lights?

Just like CFL's I don't care about PAR or any other bullshit, I want pictures and proof.

I posted a couple times in other LED threads the link to 3 all LED grows done with Luxeon stars, he uses 60w of them (hangs them like 2ft over the plants seems inefficient to me, and has a bunch of light escapes with his setup) but still yields 53g in his most succesful grow. The plants all seemed pretty stretchy and skinny though, but that could be due too the poor setup. I will post the link later, but if you'd like to search through my posts I'm sure you'll find the link no time atm.

A 53 gram yeild doesn't sound very impressive and from the sound of things it's going to look like fluffy bud's on stretched out plants. I didn't say LED couldn't grow pot. It's just that in a battle between hps vs LED it's not even worth talking about.

53g from 60w would be pretty decent no? Most of the little MicroGrowers using 70w HPSs in little cabinets and PCs struggle to reach 2 oz. Scale that up to 400w and that would be a 355g yield about .9 gpw. More then I see from most average grows. And like I said his setup is by no means ideal, stupid comes to mind really when you think why he would put the lights 2' above the plants when they could be 2" away with no heat problems, I'm sure if you hung a 70w hps that high off your plants they would stretch like hell as well. Unfortunately that is the only true LED grow I have come acrossed. I'm attempting my own with 60w of luxeons in a box basically surrounding one plant and keeping them only inches away, along with eliminating all light escapes and hopefully it'll turn out pretty successful.

Theres alot of promise in LEDs, but the main concern alot of people have is that they want something thats proven and we all know HIDs, CFLs, and the wonderful Sun work great. Combine that with the ones you would actually want to be growing with being alot harder to access then an HID light or CFLs from your local hardware store, all of the negative impressions people have because of ignorant people trying to use those POS panels from ebay and even the outdated UFOs and then saying OMGADZ LEDs suck balls this 13w panel is supposed to be like a 400w HPS but its like totally not! NO SHIT! lol, and of course the fact that they are just now beginning to become affordable and powerful enough to be worth testing around with.

Also, I've said this before in other threads but people could possibly be looking at LEDs from the wrong perspective. Maybe they may never me meant to replace a big 1000w HPS in a grow op, but there low heat output and miniscule size in particular make me think sometime very soon there is going to be a wave of new cabinet and microgrowers using Highoutput LEDs.
