BIG BUDS advanced nutrients 0-15-40

I use it and like it, but I have always used it so I don't know if it makes bigger budz, if that makes any sense lol. I am happy with my flowering plants :D I also use humbolt nutes Master A & B, humbolts Big Up the weeks I'm not using Big Bud, advanced nutes b52, GH Rare Earth, a little Fox Farms granular bloom boosters (open sesame, cha ching, beastiez) and I add molasses and such.

I ran 7 plants on my last grow with the humboldt Masters A B and the big up powder. It wasn't somthing I would recommend to other growers. It just didn't stand up to Advanced Nutrients Grow, Micro, Bloom or Thier Sensi Line. I grow the same exact clones with the Humboltd as I did for the Advanced and the ones grown on Advanced were much larger. I got several ounces more from the Advanced Nutrients then I did with the Humboltd. But it was better then the General Hydroponics I have used.

I am trying the Advanced Base Line, probably Sensi next grow. I am just trying to use up my Humbolt Nutes. My one plant really likes it, and the buds have the best real lemon flavor. Other peeps who have grown my cut have not gotten the lemon taste so.... I will be interested as to how it reacts to Advanced Sensi.

The humboldt line is good, It's just not as good as it cost. I paid like $25 a quart for each master a and B and then 33 for the Big up powder.

I would go with Sensi if you do go with advanced. I like them both and seem that it would make more sense to use a three part (grow bloom micro) rather then a Two part (sensi), But from experiance I would say that the Sensi is a little better.

What are you growing? I currently have a couple of lemon Kush in the mix and I'm not gettin lemon odor and its about 6 of flowering I think it may be late finisher, as it is still growing quite a bit in bud size.

Wow I got the Humbolt nutes because they were the cheapest, $20 each for A & B, and Big Up was $22, and it has the exact same NPK as Bud Blood.
I am growing a bunch of Sour Diesel self crosses and such. The one I call Quartz is my favorite and turned out to be a Lemon Sour D.... I call it Quartz because by week four it is just white and chunky with crystals. I just sampled some day 44 buds and the lemon is so yummy already. The buds are perfect from day 64-70. One of my new self crosses has the lemon taste too, but more skunky and low. It may have some Flo in it too...
Oh yeah it's not lemon odor until the buds have dried, and after a long cure the diesel comes out.

Ya, I order all my nutes online now. The growshop is good when I need it, but as far as cost goes, online is the way. That was a good price you got. I never relized that about the NPK being the same, thanks. Maybe I'll use it while flowering my White Widows. I have been crossing some funky strains latley, mostly out of being board. Untill the summer gets here, there is nothing to do.. I just crossed a Mandala Santori with an Ak 47. That should be good considering the Santori makers claim it's sporting 27% TCH (I beg to differ) and the AK looks like it was dipped in suger.

I had 7 of these 38 gallon trash barrels at work, when the Male and female I choose for breeding are ready I simply put them into the barrel together with a clear that lid I made, and keep under 12/12 lighting and by venting the air from the barrels outside I dont get any pollen into the rest of the plants. It's more work then I had to do, but I get a ton of seeds that way.

I have to work on my curing, I tend to rush it.. How do you do it?

I'm using it and having great results. I'm using b'cuzz bloom, big bud , hydrogen peroxide, sweet and purple maxx I also use gravity.
Yeah I don't use the big bud until I'm a few weeks into bud then with my experience the buds really explode girth weight etc.
It's a fairly inexpensive nutrient also.

Salts are salts.. But lock-up can happen outside of the plants too, so when you're not using a specially designed regimen, you really need to manage them properly.. And then there are enzymes/vitamins etc.. Things beyond salts that might be in higher end products.. I managed to get good results with a few cheapo fertilizers in really nice organic rich soil, but I never did succeed with any MG products.. They always started way too nicely, then inevitably went downhill regardless of what I did..
(And don't worry, I went through the realization of the difference between noob good results, and 'good' results a long time ago..)

I used to think the same thing due to some misinformation on this forum...I thought they were all pretty much the same and that it was all hype. I started using AN and I'm never going back. I use Bud Blood, Big Bud, and Overdrive.

That is a lethal combination that gives me the buds that I used to wonder how people got. And I don't veg my plants very long, they just come out dense and sticky and dank....love this shit man.

I haven't tried Gravity from Humboldt, but I've heard mixed reviews. I've heard it can easily kill your plants for one (not that I'm worried about that too much, less can be more!) and it can make some buds TOO dense. Like rock hard after the dry and cure.

damn im glad u brought that up. ive got some AN stuff, including bud blood and big bud, but dont have overdrive. i do have gravity from last grow that i've barely used. im somewhat considering gettin overdrive because of comments like ^ that one, but wondering if gravity would be a reasonable replacement? or if itd be worth it to go straight to overdrive to get the best

If you try the gravity, use it with caution. It's the counterpart to overdrive so I probably wouldn't go buy overdrive if you have the other.

Just make sure to use 1/4 to 1/2 of the recommendations (I would use 1/4 the first grow and if it's okay try 1/2 the next time to see if it's still okay) and remember to raise your lights a good 18" while you are using it. Get them up outta there they will nuke your plants.

Oh there is your problem right there.. The salts are salts statement applies to different sources of the same salts.. I guess I thought that much was obvious.. As far as the NPK sources themselves go, salts are salts, cations are cations, anions are anions.. Its management of them that is key.. And thats easier said than done with some cheaper mixes, and even moreso if you use multiple products..
Fancy fertilizers are more than salts alone these days, but its worth noting that alot of the extras are only redundant sources for things that should already be in healthy soil..

A few comments...

1. A high K food used exclusively will reduce yield, NOT promote it as it will induce a N deficiency. When you add all of your goodies up, it's important to know what the final NPK value is,

2. Charts and calculators are useless unless they offer NPK values, plants are dynamic in their requirements. Only by understanding NPK values and micros and knowing how to read your plants will you be successful in our little hobby.

Good luck,
UB
0-15-40, thats potassium phosphate..:) Helps tomatos make it through harsh later weathe.. You can get it for $2-5/lb..
I don't know how rare their amino acids are in ordinary soil, but from what I read on their product overview, they kind of tend to over-hype quite a few trivial things..
haha

thank s you two you just saved me some typing. uncle ben your stuff is always right on thanks.
why do people get npk mixed up alot.

tried to rep you both says i need to spread some around hahha

If you want to use Advanced Nutrients i would suggest you to get at least:

Sensi Grow & Bloom A+B
Voodoo Juice (Root enchancer)
B-52 or any (B1 supplement)
BudBlood (Week 1 flowering)
BigBud (Week 2-5 flowering)
Overdrive (Week 6-7 flowering)
