dr. adrian rogers was a baptist minister, not an economist. I am sure even the unibomber said some neat things. adrian rogers was one of them religious nutjobs.
drunk with power and convinced of his own brilliance. may he rot.
Wow, it's the old, you, or this person, is not an expert, argument.

Actually, just because he is/was a baptist minister doesn't mean he doesn't also have a Doctorate in Economics.

Now, go off and play some where else, Bigot.

just pragmatic.

and if you look, the doctorates are honorary.
the last time he was in real school was 1958.

Well, perhaps next time you can provide your evidence before hand, instead of just making a statement.

Though, it doesn't require a degree in Economics to know what will work, and what will not work based on common sense, and historical examples.

It also doesn't require a degree in Economics to understand the immorality of Socialism, which is nothing more than systematic theft.

Though, I suppose I do have to admit that you're not a bigot, and clearly not pragmatic enough. Otherwise you'd be more interested in determine the effects of Obama's stupidity than defending them.

Effects that will do nothing more than ensuring a more stratified society due to high taxes making it more difficult for people at the bottom to get into the top, and where the only thing that is used to qualify a person is how much they kiss the government's ass and tow the party line.

it is not my fault you were talkin out your neck without research of any kind...
what we are seeing is not socialism. but rather necessary emergency measures.
true socialism would mean you don't own any property, it would all be the property of the state. You would have to get a government voucher to take your car in for repair. you would need permission to paint your house. You would have a gas ration card. you would forfiet your right to choose your vocation, and instead would be assigned based on your assesed skills to the job the state said was right for you, even if that meant relocation.
the socialism argument is meant to scare people, just like the past rhetoric of the right, which became transparent about 2004, if not earlier.
you are gonna have a hard time getting me to feel sorry for people who make over $250k a year... thats over 20k a month. there are peope who support kids and live for a whole year on less than that monthly number. taxes are going back where they were in 1999. that is all.

It is all the property of the state.

If you don't pay your property taxes (rent) the State will take your house.

If you don't pay your licensing fees and state registration fees (rent) the State will take your vehicle.

If you don't pay your income taxes (rent on your life) the government will come in and steal all your property and auction it off.

There is nothing that is not subject to having the government levy a tax upon it. Income taxes are nothing more than a tax on your very existence. Ergo, everyone is a Slave to the State.

what you say makes sense in a very obtuse way. the same logic says you start dying once you are born. It's true, yes, but saying that life is the process of dying misses the point.
Sure everyone pays taxes. But at the same time, most people appreciate having roads and hospitals and firemen and public schools. I mean, i think that paying the army and the navy and the coastguard is a good idea. Don't you? I like a modicum of order and convenience, just like i am sure many people do. You take a hot shower today? Water and sanitation systems paid for by tax dollars. You drive 70 on the freeway? tax dollars. You like the internet? A DARPA project paid for with tax dollars.

no need to be rude and crude, my angry friend.
so i read your post. then i read your sig.
so everything you said was a lie?
and i did know that.
i never said that the whole thing was roses and champagne.
the irresponsibility of greed.
that is the thing that got this started.
adjustable mortgages. selling them to foreign firms as securities. it has been a cascade of shit. but SOME people got super rich off of it. in the end it will equalize, i think.
see, if bush had said "everyone is gonna have to sacrifice a little for this monumental war effort. taxes might go up a bit. we urge you to start a garden and contribute to the effort by buying WAR BONDS." america would have got behind the effort. we're good at that. but the call to action was: 'go shopping, live as normal.'
while we war in two countries.
realy.
we could have started paying the piper as soon as the shit went down. now it costs.
it was inevitable. suck it up.

there is nothing wrong with greed..there is however something wrong with THEFT.
when the government steps in and says.im going to insure all you fucking crooks that are playing this monoply game.i make up all the rules as i see fit in favor of my buddies and if you .my buddies looses a little money ill just print some more and give it to you,and hand the bill to the tax payers,
this causes companys and people to take risks with other peoples money.you ever hear of FDIC ,perfect example.here you go mr bankster take all this money and go to las vegas.if you lose it all we will pay you back.if you hit the jack pot you get to keep it though.and still not pay it back.WTF? what capitalist runs a company that way? none
you know why? because we respect greed and do not like to make bad bets on sure losers.the only time that happens is when a government steps in.like it did,and made them loan money to people who could not afford to borrow it,
ALL OF THE PROBLEMS YOU SEE GOING ON NOW HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE GOVERNMENT

Strange,

Electricity - Power Company Produces, Ships and Delivers the Electricity along power lines that they maintain. No State there.

Water - The only connection the Water Utility has with the government is buying easements on the roads that the government "owns".

Roads - You're assuming that we need the government to provide for roads. Some developments use the association fees to maintain the roads in the development. Most development firms pay to pave the roads themselves prior to construction commencing. Why?

Because they are also installing the pipes and cables that bring in the other utilities.

Hospitals - Strange, I suppose my question should be what's a hospital?
I'm being facetious, I haven't visited a hospital in ... well damn forever.

That doesn't mean I don't use Medical Care, it just means that I go to a doctor's office.

Sanitation System - I think that might be ran by the City here, but I'm sure there are other places where it's not.

The State isn't needed, especially a repressive tyranny like we have at the Federal Level.

Now, explain to me WTF the Federal Government does, besides stealing a shit load of money from me year after year?

you have the internet; you go get the information for yourself. My time spent educating you is done. because honestly
as your argument grows thinner and thinner, i had hoped that you would achieve some sort of clarity. your myopic selfishness has you in a tight-fisted grip and seems reluctant to let you go. maybe you should just get it over with and move away with your money, i certainly won't miss you.

Wait, let me get this straight, YOU WANT TO STEAL MY MONEY and I'm the one that's being Selfish?

Here's a question for you. How much did you pay in taxes last year?

Not that I need to know the answer, it was probably in the negatives.

Which means that you are proving my point for me.

YOU WANT TO STEAL OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY.

What gets me though is the fact that you then have the fucking audacity to accuse them of being greedy when tell you too piss off, because it's their fucking money.

you presume too much and
you have a gift for the mental leap.
i don't want to steal anyone's money.
how you go from 'do your own research' to 'i want to steal your money' is beyond me. maybe you should take some money and see a head doctor. i didn't accuse you of being greedy, just selfish and nearsighted. maybe you can go live in a country with dirt roads and cholera in the water where you don't have to pay taxes. Or, and this is a good idea, give your money away and live like jesus said to. after all, it is easier to fit a camel through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven.

and as far as the tax bit goes.
we get nearly nothing back.
and pay taxes every time we grocery shop, or
pay the cable bill, or the power bill.
every time we send mail or eat at burgerking or get a smog certificate
or buy alcohol or cigarettes.
people have been exhasperated by taxes as long as there has been government.
but i like snow removal and i want my police to have gas in their cars and the paramedics to have a
modern ambulance and streetlights and public schools and libraries and traffic lights and so on.
it's a tradeoff. because i dont like war, or israel, or ethanol, or nuclear missiles makes them no less real.
so, as a pragmatist, i accept things as they are. seems like if you were truly concerned you'd be lobying for change, or doing something proactive instead of bitching to a bunch of stoners on a weed forum. because, dude, i'd like to help you. but i dont care.
