DETROIT — Authorities say they cracked a major marijuana ring in the Detroit area that involved 22 people and two dozen homes where a purple variety of pot was grown and sold.

An indictment unsealed today in federal court says the ringleader was 33-year-old Brian Osburn of Belleville. He's charged with conspiracy, running a criminal enterprise and aiding mortgage fraud.

The 24 grow houses were in Wayne, Oakland and Washtenaw counties. The indictment says some houses also were used to get mortgages through identity theft, forgery and phony appraisals.

Osburn is in custody until a court hearing Wednesday. It's not known if he had a lawyer.

The Drug Enforcement Administration says Osburn's purple pot was more potent and expensive, selling for up to $5,000 a pound.

I always wonder, how much weed is actually found compared to how much weed makes in into evidence. I bet there is a big weight difference.

Man I'd have loved to have had some of that purple, yummy, guess the cops new years eve party will be rocking this year.

seeing as how purple kush is a clone only strain i highly doubt thats what it was, not saying it couldnt be but id say im 90% sure it was something else.

because the father plant was lost, therefore there arent seeds for it anymore. Its only sold as clones on the west coast in MMJ states. If you dont believe me you can ask around.

haha this grow op was found very close to my location. and yes it does cost $4500-$5000 for a lb of purps around here. Crazy they were growing over 600 plants in a $400,000-$600,000 house.

Couldn't you stress a female purple kush and make it hermie then use that to pollinate a purple kush female? That would make Purple Kush seeds.

I dont think so but seeing as ive only had one seed crop & am still learning how to breed i could be all fuked up on that, from what ive been taught so far the seed needs to come from a clean father in order to keep the strain pure,im allmost positive that a bonnafide male is needed.

My "Indoor Marijuana Horticulture - The Indoor Bible" by Jorge Cervantes says that you can on page 284.

Also just because it's sold as clone only on the west coast doesn't mean someone somewhere in the world doesn't have seeds or a male.

Sometimes jorge trips me out,not that he cant grow killer,he's proved himself as a master for sure, its just some of the stuff he comes up with freaks me out,im nowhere near an expert anything when it comes to seeding or breeding but what jorge is saying dont make sense when compared to other breeders.

There are several strains i know of that are clone only like gren crack, most everybody is dying to get heir hands on that shit but cant ship clones,im sure thyere has to be something were both missing here why breeders wont do that method to obtain seeds.

Anybody know the real reason why its not done ?

If nobody answers i might pm subcool & ask him,he's gotta know the scoop.

that was only part of an article or something. I read in another one that they had 600 plants in a house in Canton, MI less then a mile from the police station aha. I will find and post.
