Since you already have a bunch of growing experience with other plants, hopefully you won't have too many issues with starting out in the final pot. Even with autos, I typically suggest starting in something much smaller.

In My personal expierences, with other plants anyway, its always best to start in the final container. I cant even express how many problems I have had with tomatoes that were started in cells in the house and moved outside. Constant issues from transplant shock, plant adjusting to wind, etc. So I always Sow my seeds directly outside and honestly, since I started Avoiding seedling transplants with my garden veggies, my problems have went almost entirely away, my yields seem to have increased, and in general things just seem to grow better. Lets hope this transfers to cannabis as well.

Also doing a bit of an experiment I have one 5 gallon cloth grow pot, and One smaller plastic planter, Smaller planter is my own soil blend idea, and 5g pot is as stated above, Dr.Bugbees soil blend. Want to see if the pot size effects when it flips to flower and test out my personal mix based loosely off Dr Bugbees blend.

Hope it works out for you. Just remember that autos leave you with a seriously truncated time table for fixing anything that might go wrong. If you're not fairly on-point from the jump, it can be pretty frustrating fighting the clock.

Oh ya for sure which im ok with, This is the cheap seeds learning grows, I expect mistakes, and honestly, as long as I make it to harvest without killing the plant and get something out of it, even if its only 1 ounce, ill call it a win and try to do better on the next grow.

Well, I am looking at it like this, Its Good enough for Dr Bruce Bugbee, a PhD Scientist who researches medical hemp, its good enough for me. Plus, Im broke and cant buy anything else to add at this point anyway. I have a Moisture meter to keep track of the soil moisture, and Plan to water carefully.

You need your drybacks in time. I say your soilless mix lacks aeration but consider CEC. ...Aroya Office hours
Oh I plan on letting it dry back till the meter hits the start of dry before watering. I am not really concerned with Aeration, the Vermiculite will provide some, as will the fact that the main plant is in a cloth pot.

I am honestly shocked that so many here are worried about the soil blend from a PhD scientist that is used in a literal medical hemp research lab, if you cant trust the brains with the PhD's who can you trust?

Almost tried them but got too much going on atm. Here is Blimburns info on them. Looks nice.

I went with Blimburn Apple Fritter Auto and Bruce Banner Auto instead,
Yep looked them up before i bought them from NASC and the blimburn page on them is why I got more of them than any of the other seeds.

Following. I like your style. I just had a $2 Mimosa Cake auto pop up this morning.
lmao its not so much a style as its "im poor and if i want to do this i need to do it the cheapest way I can" I had to borrow money from my dad just to get my set up going, and if I had bought top quality seeds right off the jump I would have been missing some piece of needed hardware cause I cant afford 43 to 100 bucks for three seeds. I am not growing to sell, there is no return on my investment in profits from sales because I am only growing for personal use, and being new I would have a heart attack trying to grow 100 dollar 3 pack seeds, If i screw up on a 2 buck seed, oh well its two bucks, if i screw up on a 33.33 dollar seed, THAT hurts.

I hope that soil mix works out for you. I tried Bugbee’s soil recipe once as DTW (Jack’s 20-10-20) and it was horrible—couldn’t keep the soil from locking out no matter how many times I flushed it. I ended up switching out the soil to FFOF mid-veg or I would have lost the plants. No issues after swapping. Haven’t trusted anything from him outside of lighting info since.

You got this! I sow directly to soil also. It works! I start in cells but try not to let them linger too long before a transplant. Don’t get me started on the peat pucks. Garbage.

I am using his soil blend but NOT his nute schedule simply because I dont have the enviromental controls that he has to be able to push the growth he can with Adding CO2 and High Powered lights, etc. I dont plan on DTW I was considering it, but with the water holding of Peat and vermuclite, that is just not gonna work, so I plan to simply water and add nutes as needed.

So I am pretty sure I am going with Mega Crop for veg and then Jacks Bloom Booster once I hit flower stage, usin the standard PPM for stage charts.
