Led stays on

I got curious about this when you mentioned that this light has it's own timer because one of my lights is like this. I started googling more about lights with timers and ran across this like 4 year old home improvement message board that may or may not apply. Here's the board link, but basically sounds like depending upon how the light is designed it may just have a hot wire running a constant, small amount of current to power the timer vs. having both a hot a neutral wires.
I don't know if that's the case with this Bozily grow light though. I also looked up your light on Amazon and see that it has/had good reviews, but a couple of reviews on there were from people who said their light was still on. I wonder what happens if you use it's timer by itself?
Anyway, I'm going to check on my light, but I wanted to share what I found with you
I had the same thing with another light last year, also in veg, i suspect its going to be one of the outlets on the timer not shutting completely, if that makes sense, or possibly the metal wire supports are completing a circuitimage.jpgedit: switched the plugs, added the 2 to 3 prong adapter to the timer, wait and see at lights out

Sounds like someone wired your house backwards, and switched hot and neutral. Usually that sort of thing is fine, until you try to shut it off with a single pole switch, like what's in most timers.

Why anyone would think it's ground and neutral swapped, or would make such a suggestion, is beyond my comprehension.

Yeah, i found its hit or miss throughout the house, theres some daisy chains that go on forever in the bedrooms and attic. If it was reverse polarity the tester would tell.

Maybe because I'm not an electrician. I've just heard many people have issues from reversed circuits. If you read my post you'd see that I said I might have the wires wrong, :wall:. Seems people knew what I was saying though,.

You're just a hater, lol.

At the risk of sounding nit-picky, it wouldn't be reverse polarity, technically speaking, since it's AC power. It is just a hot/neutral swap. The issue is with single pole timers, as you are only opening up the hot line with the timer switch, which is fine when things are wired properly. However when the lines are swapped, your switch is now on the neutral side, so the power can still come in and trickle through the ground.

I'm a hater because you're not an electrician, but you are giving (bad) electrical advice? Naw, I just don't want to see people get hurt with power.

So i tried switching the timer outlets and adding the 2 to 3 prong adapter, no change after lights out, the bozily light is still dimly lit. Only other option is to try an extension cord from a properly wired outlet but i suspect its the light fixture, still haven’t tried its remote control timer, that may be the solution.

There has to be a solution. Dioes your light have a dimmer? I don't recall if it was mentioned and I just got home from a long day of work, and too lazy right now, to go back and look.

Yeah, the remote for the light has a four or five level dimmer, and a timer for 24,18 or 12 hours on.

Does it do it on every dimmer setting?
Thats odd too, i set it on one of the middle settings but it comes on at a higher one. My lights come on around 3:30am. To use the built-in 18 hour setting i’d have to be up at 3am to start the cycle. I’ll probably wait til flip then use the 12 hour setting. If i don’t have to switch to the blurple i have. Got a herd of these cheapie led’s thanks to the Great Deals thread.

Another thought is maybe the driver is wired wrong and they got the hot and neutral switched,.
