I felt that way about their calmag when I couldn't find any other brand that was close to 0-0-0. Maybe not so much loss leaders and moreso they know what's up haha

You can DIY 0-0-0 CalMag by using Gypsum and Epsom salt.

epsom is very good watersoluble so can be used in waterculture ofc, but gypsum not, it's not bioavailable

No, gypsum is barely water soluble. Coco is considered a hydroponic medium.

Powdered gypsum is instantly water soluble. It has been used to treat brewing water for 300 years. It's also just as bioavailable as the calcium found in your nute blend.

Not really very good in hydro. It takes too long to dissolve in water.

Fair enough, I missed that. Personally I see zero reason to use gypsum or "CalMag" if you have a balanced hydro formula. I could see using it in soil however.

It can be useful as a Calcium supplement without adding Magnesium. Calcium deficiency is a lot more common than Magnesium.
