Just in local Canadian pot shops, I’ve seen a few places label it in there indica menu.
Either they don’t understand, or they feel the high was better suited there for unexperienced smokers who might complain it wasn’t a “sativa” high.
Not sure which but hoping the latter lol.
Interesting. So they label genetics based on what they feel like the high is.
Well blue dream has far from indica effects So they clearly don’t have the real Cruz strain

Everyone and their uncle was making their own Blue Dream seeds for a while. Pretty sure the majority had nothing to do with SCBD, just random haze x random blueberry. The reason they are all nothing like the real thing is because both of those "strains" are so variable, depending on source. I can't remember the last time I had a half decent blueberry. I'm certain there are many indica phenotypes from these crossings. Real SCBD was something special and I haven't had the real thing in over a decade.

Cut only strains are from specific phenos.
The sc cut was shorts best pheno when the cross was made. Luck of the litter.
That pheno is blue dream. Anything else is just blue haze f1 and making em stronger f2s.
iv heard promising things from dark hearts cuts. But I don’t know personally

And I don’t know of any s1s that people are bragging about

Just because a lot of people ( beginner smokers) complain of the high doesn’t feel like it “should” in their opinion, it’s all about highest thc and feeling the haze or couch lock effect to them. When you legalize and open it to everyone, you get “connoisseurs”. People try and return weed if it doesn’t give them the effect they’re wanting, it’s crazy.

Thc is thc, it’s the terpenes that cause the characteristics of the high.

It’s not always:
Indica = couch lock / sleep
Sativa = energy / euphoria

Take Blue Dream into consideration; a sativa leaning plant with generally an indica feeling high, which is why some label it indica (from the smoking effects) as others label it sativa (from it’s genetic roots)
It’s the terpene profile that delivers the high into different feelings, like “Speed Bud” it’s a 90% indica 10% sativa, but I get an awesome boost of energy and smoke it early morning apposed to before bed.
I wouldn’t worry about the label (indica / sativa) more so the terpene profile and what’s dominant with those.
Would be nice to have a comprehensive list of terpenes and there effects

Hell yes there are 2 different highs. I actually will mix indica and a Sativa to the level I desire. Mid day I like something that is like 50/50. I can tell right away if something is too Sativa for me. I get all nervous and start having negative self doubt/ judgement. I don’t like too much Sativa

Location has some odd effects also.

With heroin users they discovered that people had a usual spot they fixed up, and a ritual/routine to prepping it.

Over time their body learned to anticipate the heroin coming when they were at their spot. They had people dose in unfamiliar places and the effects felt stronger and the likelihood of overdose went way up since the body wasn’t bracing itself for the hit.

I’m sure there’s similar mechanisms with weed.

concentrates which were not a thing back then
Hash has become more refined since those days but most of us have burnt the shit out of our moms butter knives toking concentrates.

My mom thought I was on heroin because she found burnt up knives and didn't understand heroin.

Ah, hot knives. The first time I made Qwiso hash I tried it out with butter knives and over did the dosage.

It was from a sativa leaning hybrid and the hash produced a really racy/speedy and slightly trippy high that made me quite paranoid and was actually unpleasant for about the first 30 minutes. Wife came home right after I’d sampled it and asked me what the hell I did to the butter knives. She made me buy a new silverware set the next day.

Oh the old hotknife days. Good memories.

Then things got bad and people I used to hot knife hash with were still using their burners except instead of knives and hash they were dropping chunks of freebase on a hot spoon. Bad memories.

I remember being 15 years old, in my room with my parents in the next one. I'd do the Pin and Jar method. Fill up the jar, stick a straw under it and suck up the smoke. Then I'd blow it in the closet. That way I could smoke inside in the winter without my parents knowing. Then I'd listen to KISS, Judas Priest, the Scorpions, etc... on my headphones. Maybe Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon. Sometimes Jeanne Michelle Jarre. Good times.

Shit. I used to blow the smoke under my bed at that age. Roll a ball of hash up. Flat piece of cardboard with a sowing needing in the middle. And a small whiskey glass to cover it.
I really only did that by myself. My friends always just wanted to spice up the bowl.

Hash Under Glass. My favorite method to smoke hash.

I still to it from time to time when I press my keif.

You get the needle glowing then stick the hash on and cover it up or what?

You put the hash on the pin carefully so that you don't stick your finger like I did then light it and cover it with the jar. Once the jar fills up with smoke you inhale deeply, cough your lungs out, and have a major headrush. It was just like I remembered it. I have 2 more chunks I cut off that I'm going to do. I'm too stoned to do anything but smoke more.

There is a problem that I have with some sativas, I can't give it to my loved friends, if I do, I need to be there and give them just for one little joint, one of them is a beast that every day when comes from work like to roll a double paper joint (and some more after shower), he can't do it with my Malawi or Golden Tiger, and he don't want to listen or understand that you need to mind the dose, another friend, wich I gifted him a nice bud because he don't like cannabis so much (just in special ocasions) and if he smoke, he does little joints, at the end, one day someone (the brother of his wife) did comes to his house and did take a huge joint from Malawi... there is a wife that dont want to see me around there nevermore... Pure sativas are something serious, you cant gift it without care, because there are gonna be "history of the super joint" for years to come because a hard and bad trip, somehow you want to share deep from your heart someting good and end up being a drug terrorist.

One time we were doing hot knifes, and when a friend's girlfriend went to take her hit the hash exploded into a big fiery ball of white light. She had black sot all over her face and it singed all of the hairs including her eyelashes/brows. I still don't know what happened. I've taken hundreds of hot knife hits and that never happened before or after.
