Clone growing node and internodes too much?

Hi I don’t know if this is an issue but I’ve heard it’s good to have nodes and internodes growing close rather than far but I have no idea what’s causing my clones to grow them very clustered as if they were flowering with nodes and internodes. The nodes were so close to each other and one on top of others and so rapidly that I can’t prune them without having to chop the whole branch off and that’s what I had to do 3 times already on all 5 clones (3 are same strain and 2 same). They are all in same soil type and all received same nutes but 3 are in same pot, the other 2 are in their owns but all 5 are growing the same. I moved the light further up and same result. Different light and watts, just higher watts made it grow even faster. Thought it was high temp so added fan and now they grow even healthier but still clustered. Literally impossible to prune properly cause they are so close and rapid. These 2 pictures are only 2 days apart and recent. This Monday and this morning.

I am using the fox farm grow big (6-4-4) but was a little heavy on the nutes but a lot less than was used on the mother and the mothers were seeds and didn’t produce as much nodes as the clones and far more manageable when pruning time came. I would have waited longer to prune but it seemed like the longer I waited, by time they were developed, it would have been a disaster and time consuming.

I dont have any experience with monstercropping yet but it looks like a revegged monstercrop.
Yeah this was my first grow and there were so many “techniques” and so many directions on pruning but none of them were detailed enough so I kinda stopped researching them and just pruned them how I thought would benefit. The mothers were seeds and germinated and sprouted really quick. I can tell they were good seeds and easy to grow. I’ve seen that word monstercropping. Is that a type of pruning technique? Because to be honest, I didn’t know what the heck I was pruning but my yields seems to be pretty good so far. I’ll know exactly how much per plant as I am nearing 8 weeks on flowering and supposedly it’s only 8-9 weeks for my strain. That strain is GPD supposedly. The other 3 are G13. All fem.

No monstercropping is when you flower a female, then reveg it out of flower and grow it back out like a normal plant...but now it's in overdrive and just grows 'monster'.
From what I've read on it briefly a monstercrop wont ever stop being "that" messy thing...idk we need a monstercrop expert

Yea you’re right. I just read up about it and it’s all of the symptoms I’ve experienced. So this is monster cropping huh? I thought I was just doing a clone like clones are suppose to be done. Took cuttings from lower parts and dipped it in rooting product and transplant it on its own and just wait till they generate their own root. It really wasn’t that hard. Out of 8 cuttings, I only had one that didn’t make it only because I ran out of pots to transfer it so I just let it die but I found it easy to establish roots from cuttings easily. You can even do it without rooting gel and soil. But the root gel just speeds up the process and gaurentees success.

sounds like you just poorly timed when you cut those branches to be cloned. I see most people take cuttings for clones 1-2 weeks before flipping to flower

No expert here but I’ve cut clones in flower many times, give it a few weeks and it will start branching normal again. When it does you can cut all that messy shit away in the middle.

I take clones at around week three of flower often. I use tiny soft branches at the bottom of the plant. They have less flowering hormones the lower they are and the newer they are. They branch out more than vegging clones, but that's a good thing in my books. The reason I do it is space, not branching, though.

I would top it right above those two bottom branches. That will push the clusters outward where they have space to expand. Maybe train them afterwards. I have bonsai mothers that get too dense in the center if I don't prune and encourage horizontal growth.

The secret is the cutting has to have Atleast 2 sets of nodes and internodes but you’ll trim off the bottom set and stick it in a cup of water for a few days then dip it in root product and plant. Use seedling soil and also don’t forget the cup of water. It keeps the plant alive. Also change out the water everyday for fresh ones. Just like germinating the seeds except you do it with the cuttings.

As soon as they are grown and manageable. You can tell where I tried to prune to get space in between and got frustrated and just chopped the whole branch off. I had to do it like 3 times. I’ll post pics here when I get home.

I actually just finished harvesting it’s mother. I’ll post pictures of the mother. I’m gonna try and revegged her using what I know from exotic herb growing. The mother is some kind of strain. She produce popcorn nuggets. It was suppose to be gpd.

This was my first grow. The mother was my first one so don’t laugh at my pruning ways. I tied to research on how to prune but couldn’t find any detailed info on where exactly on the plant should be trimmed and not trimmed. And my “monsters”, you can definitely see where I got frustrated and just completely chopped it off and left one set.
This is the “gpd” mother. Holding quarter so you can get annidea

the clones I didn’t even know was in flowering that I monster cropped.

Up close of the other 3 I spoke about in same pot that had same cluster growth. The bottom right little one got it the worst. The top was so bad, I just took the whole top off.

other 2, again you can clearly see I just chop it all close to the main

finally this is the same one you guys saw originally at beginning of this thread. It looks better now, kinda,

Yeah again, these are my first clones and the mother is my very first grow. I guess you can say trial experiment. The seedbank advertised 454g per yield. If they were referring to before dried and cured, I got over right below 410g but when it was all dried and cured, I actually ended up with like 50g give or take. The mother went thru a lot but she produces popcorn nuggets. I have 4 other plants at the same time as her that didn’t produce as much popcorn nuggets like her. Hers was 100% popcorn. I’ll post the other 4 here. I think it’s just that type of strain. I don’t think it was due to environment stress as the other 4 would have developed just as much popcorn as her.

Sorry if the light is on. They just came on at 12 so I don’t want to turn them off and cause issues. But these 4 are also suppose to be gpd but they hadn’t turned purple and it’s going on week 8. I lowered the temp as I have my vent exhaust pulling air straight from outside. I don’t want disclose my location as it’s frown upon but let’s say it gets below 60s during night.

The far right is 2 in same pot. They we’re germinated and put in with the rest 1 month later and because they grew so quick and caught up in size and height as the other 3 and not having another separate area, I flipped them and now i see why they suffer in production from being flipped too early. But it’s all good. I do this as a hobby and learning experience. I used to smoke for recreational but hadn’t in 10 years.

Yeah I ended up pruning 90% of the fan leaves as 5 plants in 1 4x8x4 was a little crowded.

Oh and one more newb question. Sorry if it’s a stupid one but during flowering light schedule, do the flowers growth happens during night or when lights on? That way I know if I should keep it on 12/12 or 10/14. And also what happens if you left the lights off for more than 48 hours? Because that’s what I did with these clones. I just bought a new “legit” led growing light and long story short; the clones had to go without light for 48 hours. So they were in the dark and as soon as the new lights came in; that’s when the craziness happened rapidly. They were already rooted and growing rapidly, they just wasn’t getting as big as they are now. But the old light was only 39w vs this one which is 2000w.

Bushy little re-vegged "monster cropped" clones are a great start when growing with scrog nets IMO. Less chance of breaking large branches when bending them over trying to make a flat canopy later on.

Having a really bushy plant with many tops to start out with can be a huge benefit. I myself would actually keep pruning the main stalks and let the larfy stuff turn into the new branches. Keep spreading them out and preparing to fill up a net, all while FIM'ing every few days.

Then lolly pop the whole mess into a perfectly flat canopy right before flower. Keep trimming away any scragglers down below that won't get much light (popcorn) You'll easily double your harvest with a scrog net..

Sorry again guys if I ask too many questions that’s been answered and given but I’m the kind of person that reads the instruction manual of every product I buy and likes to know why and what caused the issue so I can prevent it next time instead of looking stupid and repeating it again. I spend more time planning and researching than the actual project. Lol.
