I gotcha. No doubt there's a gap between perceived "hating" and actual. Nationwide turmoil doesn't happen overnight, so I hope there are plenty of opportunities to make them aware of where we stand if things get wonky.

Before 1/6 I was definitely in the camp of, "enough of these fkn frat bois", but after 1/6 it's like.....holy shit we really need them.

The capitol feces party opened up a unique opportunity when republican voters turned their hate towards law enforcement, and being that everything they want is fully against the law. I hope we don't blow it.
You just need a majority of Americans who believe in the constitution and founding ethos of the nation, a liberal democratic republic. Many are confused about what the true nature of their country is and it's arc through history of increasing inclusion and freedom under the rule of law. Not to have one segment of society wage social civil war on another for no real reason at all, just a sense of unjustified entitlement. Not to have them use the power of the states and law to bludgeon minorities and deny them the franchise and rights as citizens, never mind equal rights. Some states elect sheriffs, prosecutors and even judges to do the "will" of the local population, bigotry, racism and hate, winner is the best dog whistler. Now these people who support this bullshit will elect anybody at all, even people like Gaetz, MTG and the other lunatics and crooks you see in the GOP these days.

So, Portland does not have a problem with fascists on its police force.

That's a relief.
Ya need power, local, state and federal to root it out. Right now just protecting democracy in America is a challenge. From democracy in the senate with majority rule, to democracy in the states with voter access, rights and who counts the votes. They need to move some shit along and voters rights and protections are essential to majority rule in elections. I dunno what Joe and Chuck can do to twist Manchin's arm on this, there's a poll from WV on HR-1 that's pretty damning.

It's a problem just getting people to recognize there is a problem with fascists on the police forces. It's a problem getting people to differentiate between fascists and antifascists. The less intelligent keep mixing them up.

amiright, @mooray?

We've seen plenty of evidence right across America of police bias and outright insubordination to civilian authority last summer during the George Floyd and BLM protests. Domestic terrorist laws and police reform with better social services need legislation and funding, votes and power. There are plenty of solutions, the problem is attaining enough power and holding it to get them done.

Spot on, though I don't think we actually have a majority that believe in the constitution, but we probably do have a majority that think they do while simultaneously pissing all over it. One potentially benefit is that, this "war" isn't really the right versus the left, it's much closer to the right versus the left + the rest of the first world nations. If it gets ugly, it'll be interesting to see how pressure from the rest of the world affects the right. Recent history says there will be no epiphanies and they will double down as many times as necessary.

I guess if you don't read my posts and just try to troll what I am saying to make it seem ridiculous, your post makes sense as sarcasm? Maybe?

Portland/Oregon is deep in this attack and I feel for you guys. Between brainwashed into being radicalized cops, and too many white people for the radicalized domestic terrorists to blend in to use as cover as they provoke your police into attacking innocent citizens to get to them.

From Russian plant car dealership owning propagandists sending trucks filled with MAGA domestic terrorists to flood your down town that inevitably turns ugly, to Russian propagandist teen influencers using your neighborhood as a foil to sell Putin's agenda. Didn't the little white power girl who stole Pelosi's laptop come from there too?

I think you all have been under attack in Portland for decades, and the scars are deep. And I wish you all the best.

And none of that doesn't mean that there is not a sustained attack on all of your/our citizens bringing out the worst in everyone.

Screen Shot 2021-06-10 at 10.52.02 AM.png
For weeks this spring, 28-year-old Seth Aaron Pendley had plotted an attack on Amazon data centers in Virginia. He had already taken a sawed-off rifle to the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. Now, he hoped to cripple much of the Internet and take down government networks.

Last April, he finally arranged a meeting with a man promising to provide the C-4 explosive devices. When they met in Fort Worth, Tex., the man showed Pendley how to arm and detonate the powerful bombs.

But just as Pendley placed the devices into his Pontiac, federal agents swarmed in and arrested him. The bomb seller was actually an FBI plant who had helped unravel a plan Pendley believed could “kill off about 70 percent of the internet.”

On Wednesday, Pendley pleaded guilty to planning to bomb Amazon facilities in an attempt to undermine the U.S. government and to spark a rebellion against the “oligarchy” he believed to be running the country.

The case underscores the dramatic rise in domestic terrorism driven by right-wing extremists and raises concerns about those who participated in the Jan. 6 insurrection plotting new attacks. Domestic attacks peaked in 2020, mostly driven by white-supremacist, anti-Muslim and anti-government extremists. Those far-right attacks have killed 91 people since 2015, according to an analysis by The Washington Post.

The rise of domestic extremism in America

Justice Department officials on Wednesday said Pendley’s plans could have injured or killed workers at the Amazon facilities if the FBI hadn’t intervened.

“Due in large part to the meticulous work of the FBI’s undercover agents, the Justice Department was able to expose Mr. Pendley’s twisted plot and apprehend the defendant before he was able to inflict any real harm,” Prerak Shah, the acting U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas, said in a statement. “We may never know how many tech workers’ lives were saved through this operation — and we’re grateful we never had to find out.”

Pendley’s plot against the government began to take shape in January, according to investigators. He said he traveled to D.C. on Jan. 6 with a sawed-off rifle concealed in a backpack. As a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol,he decided to leave the gun in his car and never entered the building, according to court records. But he later boasted about taking a piece of broken glass from the federal building home to Texas with him.

FBI says man who claimed to be at Capitol riot wanted to bomb data center near D.C.

Not long after the riot, Pendley, using the screen name Dionysus, began posting on a website called MyMilitia.comabout his plans to bomb data centers. A concerned citizen forwarded those posts to the FBI.

In February, Pendley began chatting with an informant who told him that he could help him obtain C-4 explosives.
Over the encrypted messaging app Signal, he shared his plans and began to ask “risky questions” about how to execute a bombing.

“If I had cancer or something I would just drive a bomb into these servers lol,” he wrote in one message.
The informant asked if he would be interested in obtaining C-4 for the attack.

“Yeah,” Pendley wrote back. “And I’m not telling anyone anything. Even if I gotta wheel a wheelbarrow in that b---- I’m sure we can get it done.”

As the weeks passed, Pendley continued talking to the informant about his plans. He shared hand-drawn maps of the Amazon data centers, with multiple routes in and out of the buildings. Eventually, the informant proposed Pendley meet with him and another man he claimed could provide C-4 for the attack. That man, though, was really an undercover FBI agent.

The trio first met on March 31 in Fort Worth. During the secretly recorded rendezvous, Pendley described his scheme in more detail.

He said he had painted his silver Pontiac black with a temporary, peel-away paint. He planned to drive the now-black car to Virginia and swap the license plates before carrying out the bombing. Then, he would peel the black paint away and replace his plates, making it more difficult for police to connect the car with the attack.

Pendley also described his motives in detail.

“The main objective is to f--- up the Amazon servers,” he told the two men, according to court records. “It’s gonna p--- all the oligarchy off.”

He said he hoped the U.S. government would overreact to the attack and that the consequences would turn people against the nation’s leaders.

“Hopefully, they let the world know in a weird way by acting too fast that they are a … dictatorship,” he said, according to court records. “And then hope like hell some of the people that are on the fence jump off the fence.”

The undercover FBI agent agreed to meet Pendley one week later to provide the explosives he would need to carry out the attack. On April 8, they met again, and Pendley took several fake C-4 plastic explosives and placed them in his car. Then, police arrested him.

Investigators also searched Pendley’s home, where they found wigs and masks, notes, hand-drawn maps and flash cards laying out the details of his plans to bomb the Amazon data centers in Virginia. They also found a sawed-off rifle and a pistol painted to look like a toy gun.

Under his plea agreement, Pendley faces between five and 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and three years of probation and will be banned from owning firearms.

His sentencing hearing is set for Oct. 1.
Im not sure if this juiced up dude is actually the guy that got busted, but pretty sure it is.

There is a big difference between trolls making it seem like the 'left' is attacking police, and reality.

Police are under the same attack as everyone else, but from their own particular angle. They are being trolled and radicalized to think the Democrats are against them.

https://www.rollitup.org/t/fisa-abuse-troll-is-a-scam.1000451/post-15926215

This is the bullshit trolling I am speaking of.

Absolutely. This is why I hope that they are trying to get our police (who have been sucked into the same attack everyone else in our nation has) deradicalized from their online/tv/hate radio propaganda sources by hopefully waking them up to how they got radicalized by it.

Too many good police are being triggered when they see/hear things like 'Black Lives Matter'.

I really am not sure what I typed or why, it was left over from before and I didn't notice it until afterwards on this part.

And might be a bit lost, so sorry if nothing I wrote makes sense.

unless you were married to one? you can't speak to this truth^^^^and remember they go home to families do you think their ethos changes magically?

do you remember that latino cop in Miami that killed his wife by stuffing her into the back of his SUV with blackout windows; they lived on a culdesac; little foot traffic; her phone was still by the pool where she was sitting when she was conned into the patrol car which we are never allowed into. he retired shortly thereafter.

the oligarchy? you mean the ones that Trump gave that 2017 Tax break that Bitch Mcconnell says can't be touched or broken..are we talking about a curse?
Didn't you see that new article about the rich and taxes? They don't need any tax breaks, they have no income to speak of anyway and pay little income tax.

The Democrats are not against the police. That is bullshit.

It is like the 'anti-abortion' right wing troll that tries to paint the Democrats as being 'pro-abortion'. No body is 'pro-abortion', just like nobody is pro-root canal.

Anti police brutality? Sure that is a Democratic stance from what I have seen. But any police worried that they might get in trouble for kneeling on a guys neck for 9 minutes and kill them maybe have a reason, and should consider how to reconsider what they are doing.

Once a cop starts breaking the laws, they are then criminals. I don't see any reason to confuse the two.

America is under attack, and our enemies are within. Portland gets attention because we are at the vanguard of resisting creeping fascism in our government and police. Putin, Russia and other adversaries to the US exploit our division. The division was already there. I'm OK with you and I disagreeing on which came first, the propaganda or racism in the US. I'm just here to point out that the propaganda is relatively recent compared to the long history of racism and racist acts in the US.

Last summer and on Jan 6, we saw more than just some thugs break heads across the country. We saw a coordinated attack on our democracy by fascists, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, crazed half baked Christians and other Republican authoritarians. The attacks were coordinated between civilians and police. This threat won't end by soothing the brows of frightened white people like @mooray who blame Black people. Fascists on our police forces is a clear and present threat to the US. Pussy footing around the issue won't solve it either.

The post below, for is an example of white privilege that was here long before Putin took control of Russia:

Something I wonder is, how much of this is really new and how much is just because people generally exist "in the now"..? I've got to imagine that after the civil rights movement, there must have been racist flareups for a few years here and there as legislation attempted to force fairness, and we know how much whites love being forced to be fair. It seems like there's just no way it's been smooth sailing for 60 years and then there's a big blowup now. In the last thirty years, I can't personally recall a period of racial conflict, beyond maybe Rodney King, but even then seemed very different, in that, I don't recall much of an opposing view. It was shitty and that was that, but at the same time, my awareness of social issues back then was terrible. Anyway, the reason why I'm curious about this is, what did it take in the past for the hate fueled rednecks to chill the fk out?
Note that the white man who wrote that post is focusing on the civil rights movement as if the Civil Rights Act caused white people to all of a sudden "flare up". He's wondering what can be done to get "hate fueled rednecks to chill the fk out" as if they are were provoked. To Black people and others targeted by racists in our society, there hasn't been any "flare ups". It's been pretty constant for them. As if telling white men to get their foot of the necks of Black people is a provocation.

I get the sense that some people are trying really hard to forget what happened last year. Change is more scary to them than having people like that on our police forces, I guess.

Or you just think you are at the 'vangaurd' and just happen to have enough radicalized people on the different sides and a homogenous enough population that all the radicalized domestic terrorists can create violence and hide easily.

The division was already there. I'm OK with you and I disagreeing on which came first, the propaganda or racism in the US.
So you don't think Racism has always been around and that this data driven online spam propaganda attack is being done with machines that just came out?

Im guessing you are just trolling me here maybe.

I'm just here to point out that the propaganda is relatively recent compared to the long history of racism and racist acts in the US.
Oh, so you were just talking shit and pretending like I said something I didn't.

I'm just here to point out that the propaganda is relatively recent compared to the long history of racism and racist acts in the US.
Cool. It is worth pointing out. The very real divisions in our society is what is being exploited and amplified until nobody can see straight.

Last summer and on Jan 6, we saw more than just some thugs break heads across the country. We saw a coordinated attack on our democracy by fascists, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, crazed half baked Christians and other Republican authoritarians.
Agreed. And also would add any other mentally unstable person that was able to be pushed into doing violence too.

The attacks were coordinated between civilians and police.
Agreed.

Those police who broke the law and became criminals have been just as radicalized as anyone else. Some since birth, others later using propaganda to play on the things that they seen and heard growing up that didn't stick until they got spammed the worst of the worst of everything that they demonstrated would impact them.

This threat won't end by soothing the brows of frightened white people like @mooray who blame Black people.
And I won't eat a sandwich if I make a pizza?

I think this sentence was just about trolling maybe. But I think you are missing a bigger picture of the propaganda attack on us all. The programming is not just going to one group of people, it is going to everyone, everywhere, all the time. And people who are not white also will be getting the constant fear mongering too to the point that they think that 'Defund the Police' is whatever they are programmed to believe it is.

This was a big part of what I was trying to point out with the attack on the hispanic communities with the constant noise that was effective.

Fascists on our police forces is a clear and present threat to the US. Pussy footing around the issue won't solve it either.
Agreed. Which is why I am not bummed that police are rethinking what it is that they are doing.

The only way that this gets solved is to keep voting. Keep showing up and drowning out the noise that is currently being spammed at our politicians too. Don't let them hide behind 'plausible deniability' of stupidity with this propaganda attack that the right wing is currently trying like hell to keep as quiet as possible.

I think you are trying to troll too hard and misread what they wrote.
