Damn got rid of sample, I’m going to go look for more. However by that pic I see it distinct difference in there antennas. So I’m leaning gnatFungus gnats have a longer thorax, and root aphids have those twin tailpipes, stubbier body.
Might need a couple more pictures to see that separation at the thorax.

Not unusual to have both. You can yank the plant out and look at the roots also, look for crawlers on the roots, they are quick and hate light.

what brand do you use for your BTI?These are my personal harvest of Fungus Gnats. I’ve had them for the past 3 grows. We lay out sticky traps and a BTI in the feed mix to eventually get rid of them for that round, but they always come back in the next batch of soil.
