Haven't done a journal in awhile, but figured I would since I'm going into the new year with some new beans + light. (swapping in a Spider Farmer SF2000 into my current 3x3x6 tent/replacing 300w HPS).

I'll be running x3 Magic Cookies from Roc Bud Inc as well as 1 random seed from the Roc Auto Mix.

Day 1

Little girls poked out of their rapid rooters this morning, so they've been potted into their 3 gallon grow bags (final home).

Hooked up the SF2000 last night and man the difference in light compared to my HPS bulbs is amazing. Pure white light is really WHITE when you've been running HPS for over a year straight. Temperature difference is MASSIVE! I'm already seeing a drop in tent temperature by almost 10 degrees!

Day 5

Probably should have left the seedlings in the humidity dome for another day as the 70 F and 30% RH in the tent has slowed growth. The SF2000 has done wonders for the temps, but I need closer to 80 and a higher RH for these seedlings. I've moved them into my second tent and put them under the two 150w HPS bulbs w/ a humidifier running.

Day 26 (Magic Cookies Auto x3)

First seven days of growth were VERY slow, so they are a little behind size wise. Sitting at 30'' away from the Spider Farmer SF2000, this light is keeping this indicia dominant strain super fucking short. Finally able to start some LST on the biggest one in the front.

On a side note, had a weird deformed top node on one of the girls (half cut off to the right in this picture). It was four single bladed leaves all meeting at the stalk with absolutely no growth point above it. Craziest thing I ever saw. Attached a picture below.

I cut that node (topped?) it at 21 days, so we will see how she responds. I've never topped a plant before in my years of growing.

This Magic Cookies strain has some huge leaves. I've never been one to defoliate (at all), but wondering if i'll end up needing to remove a few. I'm doing my best to tuck them as needed.

** With my HPS setup, I would only fill my bags 1/2 way and then top them off as the girls stretched a bit. With this new Spider Farmer LED, these are some short girls, I will have to fill the bags up more going forward. I may never even be able to fill it 3/4 at this rate.

Day 27 (Magic Cookies auto x3)

Today is water day. This is only the 3rd time I have watered these girls, so I'm sticking to my normal approach. I will mix 1tsp CalMag per gallon of water and give them a good watering until I achieve a slight runoff. Then it should be another 3-4 days at least before the next watering.

** Placed another order on Platinum as I heard the news about Roc Bud shutting down the op for a bit (or at least that is how I read it). So I picked up a 5pack of Roc It Fuel and a 5pack of The Fringe V4. I'm now hoarding the following Roc Bud strains. LOL

-Diesel Cookies
-Purple Rolex v2
-Magic Cookies
-Purple Scoops
-Roc It Fuel
-The Fringe V4
-Iced Gushers
-x4 Roc Auto Mix randoms

Day 28

Four weeks today. They really took off overnight after getting watered. The bottom one is the one that had the deformed top node (see above post) and was topped. I haven't done any LST to it yet as it's a bit further behind than the other two.

I've decided to pop one of these freebies (Terp Daddy x Platinum Punch) and run it under the SF2000 with my autos. I'll just 12/12 this girl and put her into a lightproof tent for her 12 hours of darkness.

Day 29

Doing some more LST on the bigger girls. They are still short bushes, but i'm getting more lower shoots to pop up each morning. It's still a work in progress for me, but I'm getting more confident with each run.

Day 39

Stretching has pretty much come to a halt. Did some good things with LST, but still have room for improvement. I've got some lower stalks that were starting to reach up and made it half way, so I know there is potential for more tops.

**P. Punch Reg Fem that was sprouted didn't even make it past germination. Not the beans fault as her taproot vigorously took off in the rapid rooter and I had to perform "surgery" to get her going the right direction. The stress from that killed her quick. I did not pop a replacement (for now), so it's still just x3 Magic Cookie autos.

Hey diff.
Just wondering why you dont fill your pots to the top? Any specific reason?
I just recently switched over to the SF2000. Last year I was gun shy due to stretching (with HPS) so I would leave room to bury the stem as needed.

I quickly found out that stretching will not be an issue with this light.
