I'm pretty sold on a 30/70 (perlite/coco) mix myself.
yea I don't know why I tried hempys, I suppose they served me well and not really going to far off the path, hempy himself ended in coco. no complaints just think coco holds O2 better and I can get faster dry backs, going to flower in 3gals

A DIY build of QB96's isn't pricey compared to other less expensive brands, and putting them together is pretty easy. You could always start with a pair of them plus a driver for a couple hundred and see what you think.
this is a good idea. where do you put them on the outside edges?

I use 2-gals myself and pull around 4 zips a plant for moderate yielding strains, more for high yielding strains. I used to use much larger pots until realizing that it wasn't giving me larger yields, just more medium to water.

also I have a cool tube for 1 hps but not another, I got 1 barn reflector and it's annoying so I'm thinking Leds on the outside and the 600 with the cool tube in center

I suck it out every day or two (three if I'm real lazy) with a bucket-top vac. Then I use the reclaimed runoff to feed the plants in the yard.
yea im basically doing the same thing. trying to model Smokes run off to condensate pump, then I will be in heaven

I've considered getting some automatic sump pumps to do the work for me, but at this point it's just an unnecessary extra expense. We have so many pets these days, that I can't go anywhere for more than a couple of days anyway. Something like this for each drip tray, which does back to a master runoff collector, either set to a timer or flipped manually, would make it easier, but it's extra investment: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08K8RRDBS/

just design a larger run off catch basin, with the condensate pump in a tray that leads to the basin, with a large enough feed tank, and the timers set correctly, in theory it should be totally hands off

if you start with 30 gals but only feed to waste that 30 gals slowly over a few days the catch basin will be full by the time you get back, your only real job is refilling the feed tank and emptying the run off

Yep, once my life is back to being able to go for week-long trips I will have to redesign my runoff system. I set it up knowing that I'm not going anywhere for a while, and with minimal investment, plus also allowing for maximum headroom. I used to run a table type system where the runoff would all collect in one container, which was defo easier, but also ate up an extra foot of vertical grow space in my tent.

yea I've started researching but can't find any definite answer..

current temp is 63 that might be it because I'm 20 degrees below the avg

feeding 600ppm 150ppm of calmag was hoping that was plenty for my plant size.
Back in November/December I was barely getting 20c under a 240w led, I fkd up with setting it to low (for heat) when I eventually sussed it was the light and raised it up the plants come back looking healthy, no calmag and cool temperatures, it wasn't the quickest growth but it was healthy enough.
