Newbie! Please help (Lights)

Searching around the internet for info about lights is really hard, there is a lot of conflicting info. I hope you guys can help me!

After doing a lot of research I'm thinking of using 4x100W floodlights and 1X50W RGB floodlight for my first grow, and that's where most my money will go cuz I'm on a budget.

I made a DIY growroom in a closet that's 1m² (aprox 10 sq foot).

I might grow 3 medium plants, maybe 4 or maybe 2, it all depends on how it goes.

My question is, would my lights be enough for this? Here are some specs.
For the 100W:
9000LM
127V

So i would be having 400W and 36,000 LM

The other one im not sure. Thanks!

I've been waiting for someone to ask a question like this....

I made my own DIY setup and grew the buds in the pictures below.

Used 1/4in plywood for the base
Some homedepot light sockets with the wires attached
4x Ecosmart 19.5w (150w Replacement) LED 1640 lumen Color Switch (2700k, 3000k, 5000k) Part #: [1004 511 060]
Some tin foil to cover the base
Extension cord to chop up if you're doing multiple setups
Some thin rope and chainlink to raise the bulbs as they grow/change stages

It isn't optimal by any means, but if you're handy and short on dough this could work great for you. 1 setup per plant is optimal, but we got away with cramming more under because we do microgrows.

Any plants you see were grown under those lights

That's an awesome setup you have! And also awesome weed, lol.

I can dream of someday have something like that!

We all started in the closet lol
What exactly is your budget?
Your grow space size?
Goal for product?
Hey!
As I said before, I'm growing in a 1m², (aprox 10 sq foot)

I want to grow as much as I can, but I'm not worried a lot, i could get half an onz and i would be happy, i guess I'm growing for the experience.

I have a 15 gallon bucket

And my budget is really tight, I'm from Mexico, my budget for lights is around 45 bucks lol, so, yeah, really cheap

Too bad you couldn't save up alittle more. For $100 you can get a pretty decent LED that would light that space very well, and give you some big buds.

When I was on a budget, I always ran CFLs and got pretty darn good results.
You could Google how to build a CFL array and buy a few large, high wat CFLs
They need to be within a few inches of the plant to be effective though. So training the plant, good ventilation, and being able to move your lights is important.

Isn't Mexico on the path of legalization? Could you grow outdoors anywhere? I mean, it's Mexico lol you have a insanely good growing season

Hahahah, indeed we are in the path, but it will take a long road, lol, maybe at the end of this year it will be fully legal, but, we are still not there, and i don't want to be charged with drug production and selling, sadly for us Mexicans that like weed Mexico is dangerous, we get charged and on jail while the cartel can do whatever they want, lol.

Police raid civilian houses for just one weed plant, and get years, while the big crime organizations are the bosses to fucking cops and government.

Anyhow, when it's legal I will definitely grow outdoors, for now I'll have to stick indoors.

And thanks! I might do some research on CFLs!

Look through the newbie section and most of the small or ragged buds are from poor choices in grow lights. At that budget you need to find a used HID system someone doesnt need. LED is safer for a newbie but with that budget I would go to HPS. Or if someone will donate a decent LED that would be great of course.

The budget requires creativity. Someone near you has an old system they can hand over for almost nothing. Know anybody who could help you there?

I grew some pretty decent (not extreamly dense) bud with CFLs back in the day
Its totally possible if you do your research
You wont ever get "about a pound" lol but atleast an ounce or two is totally fair game

10x10 is too large for $45 bucks worth of lights.

I would suggest making a lil setup for the one, I yielded 2-2.5oz per 2ft plant with those lights I mentioned.

Best bet is to make a little setup now, go through the growing pains (pun intended), save up your chips and buy a nice LED panel (If you get a blurple I will virtually slap you).

I just installed 2xTSL2000's that I'm going to run in a 4x4. They weren't that much more expensive compared to the 25 LED bulbs I bought, but I accumulated 25 after 8 months of growing, I started with just a single setup.

You can get 4 bulbs that I linked for $34 bucks, the rest of the setup will cost you about $10. Grab a fan and go to town.

But before you do that, see if you can find a used LED panel like the others suggested. Or do whatever you want, I ain't ya mom lmfao.

Whatever you do, this community will be here to back you up!

10 sq ft is going to be a 2x5 or a 3x3 (give or take)

There's a thread somewheres on the internets full of information and experiments of people growing with household led and cfl. They take off the covers of the led bulbs to increase light. Google Search cfl and led growing you'll find it.
