Day 25F, 2/4 plants hermied, to kill or not to kill?

Hey,

I'm growing Ken's Grand Daddy Purple and Pheno Finder Wedding Cake S1, both of the GDP's hermied... Really pissed off

this is my second grow, I got a shit yield the first time around cause one of my plants hermie'd bad and pollinated the rest, and it looks like the same thing has just happened. I'm 25 days into flower and 2 out of my four plants have nanners all over. I was just down there trying to cut some of the branches off and then poof a bunch of pollen went out into the tent. Not sure if I should kill both the GDPs or just ride it out and finish the grow?

Any advice would be much much much appreciated

That is a bummer, really sorry, I had the same thing happen about a month ago, 3 weeks into flower I noticed brown pistils on one plant, then in the next few days all 4 in the tent were growing seeds. I tossed them out and started over, but now I'm wondering if I should've finished them for the seeds. I don't know if they would be good or prone to hermie and not worth growing.

Yeah I'm having a really hard time deciding what to do, I want bud ASAP cause I can't afford to buy any anymore but I don't wanna waste my time with what will end up being a shit yield and average product. I have really nice seeds to grow but it just feels like shit to waste so much time.

Is there a lot of nanners? How about environment (heat, light intensity, humidity, vpd, nutrient regimen)? You are able to keep them going if you manage to remove the cause of hermieing. It’s usually about light leak and interruption of dark. Solve the cause and remove nanners. Inspect every day and you might be able to harvest good quality flower with none to few seeds.

Exception to previous: Get rid of them if there’s genetic trait to grow balls and not only nanners. You could post some pics to get it right! :)

There is mostly nanners but a few balls here and there, I don't think it's a light leak. I'll get you some photos tomorrow. And regarding the environment, it's been pretty hot with the tent averaging around 28 celsius, the humidity is low, fluctuating between 28 - 40% RH. They're growing in 15gal of organic soil, no nutrients but I have been adding mammoth p.

I think I might have waited too long to water recently, though, 6 or 7 days, but the soil never seemed too dry. I'm thinking it could be heat stress or just shitty genetics as it was only the two grand daddy purps that hermied.

Before you plant anymore seeds you need to really review what you’re doing. Multiple crops with hermies pretty much points to the grower and stress.
ill upload some photos once they wake up. I believe last time I did cause them to hermie by fucking up their feed, and underwatering, but this time the plants are incredibly healthy, a lovely dark green everywhere with no issues throughout the entire grow. It has struck me as odd that only the two grand daddy purps have hermied and both wedding cakes are totally fine.

Some strains are prone to hermie. I have no experience with any of the purple strains. I ran 10 pre-98 Bubba Kush from Greybeard. Got 10 hermies. I’ve been growing since the 60’s and haven’t had 10 hermies total before then. He blamed it on Seedsman saying all his seeds with his name are bought in bulk from Seedsman.

Hey guys, here are some pics, the GDP's are the ones in the back.

Left is GDP, right is wedding cake s1 for these two pics

Here are the nanners on the GDP, best photos I could get as they are all pretty tucked away, hard to get a good pic with the SCROG net in there

Yeah, I find it hard to believe I've stressed them out enough to hermie considering just how healthy they appear to be, and the bud development is going so much better than my first grow. I'm tempted to just ride it out and smoke seedy bud again for the next while, but if my yield is going to be fucked I dunno if it's worth it.

Do you have anything on deck to throw in the tent if you chop? If not I’d keep going. Hell at my age I was 21 before I ever saw sinsemilla. 1970. All our weed had stems and seeds. Mexican brick. Yours couldn’t be any worse.

Who is the seed breeder?

Nothing to throw in the tent cause I only run 1 tent, been thinking of starting a veg tent and this just seems to be more evidence of why it would be beneficial. + i smoke like a mad man when I have the bud so the more the merrier. I think I'll just finish this run out and see what happens.

Got In House Genetics Slurricane and Divine Genetics Sundae Cookies for the next grow. Also got Trichome Jungle Seeds Lilt and Solfire Gardens Why U Gelly S1.

You don’t need a tent for vegging. You might want one to escape the light. Start some now with a CFL over them somewhere and watch the GDP

Where are you from? There are way better places to get seed (thought I saw you say seedsman). If that’s all you got going right now take them out and pluck all the nanners off and watch for more to come pluck em as you see them
From Australia, ordered off Attitude Seedbank.

I was plucking them off yesterday when I saw a big poof of pollen fly into the room so I'm pretty terrified of trying to pluck anymore off, should I just grab em with my fingers and toss em in a plastic bag? I'm also doubtful that I'll find them all just cause the plants are stuck in the SCROG.
