Shout out to @ilovereggae for all of his advice and information, couldn't have built this light without him.
I wanted to build something to go along with my 4 qb120's, in a 4x4 tent, and I wanted to do it as cheap as possible. Cost me $190 to build this light. I had some steel left over from a job, so I didn't have to pay for the frame. My first light frame was built using 1x3's, so use whatever you got that will get the job done :blsmoke:
Specs for the light are (10) Samsung L09'S @3500K, wired in parallel, on a Delta LNE-48V320WAAA driver with internal lo/voltage adjustments.

Here is the frame, nice and simple. 1/2" x 1/2" x 16ga square tubing. 22" wide and 45" long. Weighs about 5lbs. Blue was the first color I found :bigjoint:

I'm running these strips about half their rated amperage, so I went with 1/8" aluminum for heat sinks. Harbor Freight sells 48" long aluminum rulers, that are 1/8" thick and almost exactly the width of my strips. $25 for 5 of them and I had my heat sink material. Mounted them to the frame, and wired them in paralell. My main 14 ga wires come into the fixture, and each runs to a distribution block, then to each strip.

Thats about all there is to it.

Very cool build! I was thinking about doing something like this with a spare driver I have from a broken mars hydro light. It's only 150 watts but figured I could get some use out of it! Thanks for taking the time to share!

my home is lit up from drivers i found in the trash. random blurple drivers and a couple powers supplies i found that output 24 volts.
