Bridgelux EB Gen 3 High Output 4ft Strips

What are you basing this claim on?

Below chart from the data sheet shows 50% of the flux at 0.7a. Therefore exactly the same as the Norma output 4ft strips. Same number if diodes too.
The Gen 3 is 186 lm/w @.7a
High Output 185 lm/w @1.4

naturally the lm/w would increase significantly as the wattage is reduced..

Spoke to an engineer at Trolmaster (they do really nice grow room controllers). And the engineer confirmed that I can use their system to control a lighting system using normal analog 0-10v dimming like meanwell drivers so thats sweet news

I forgot all about the Seoul Semiconductor strips... anyone have experience with them? The price is right.
The power density looks good to run no heatsink @.7a they are 33.6V so they would run at 23.5W 195 LM/W. They are 1120x20mm l. This give 9.5cm^2 /W of surface area

The Bridgelux strips run at 39V and 0.7 = 27.3W 175LM/W. they are 1120x24mm. This gives 9.85 cm^2/W.

Pretty damn close for power density so maybe they might be a touch hotter than Bridgelux?

But also the 195LM/W strip should produce 10% less heat based on the LM/W rating.

I've seen the Seoul Semiconductor strips discussed on the LED Gardener forum, but I have not used them.

I did buy two High Light Boards recently. Each of the boards have 60 Seoul Semiconductor “SunLike” CRI95 6500K UVA LEDs (in addition to the other LEDs used on the boards).

Octopart is koo too.

Yes Octopart is nice. But I like to filter for lm/w, pcb size, in stock etc. So that's why it's mice to search the sites.

Ok So future has the Seoul Semiconductor strips.... all in stock. Their price sucks compared to digikey... but I'll fix that :D Digikey won't get stock of this until January for my quantities

I mainly search the digikey site. Because it lets you filter for efficiency, size of pcb pretty much any parameter. Once I find a model I am interested in on digikey I'll just google it and see what comes up.

You calls find the part number of a strip you want and search it up at octopart. That will tell you who sells it and if they have stock.

I agree, digikey seems like the easiest site to navigate through when you're just browsing some things. I don't remember looking into seoul much beyond their high cri spectrums, so thanks for sharing those strips. Another temptation to buy more things i don't need at the moment.


Any thoughts on these Sunlike strips from you guys? I know the efficiency looks pretty rough, but the spectrum is nice. Seem like an option to work some more balanced blues into some existing builds with the higher temps. Like @Barristan Whitebeard was just saying, same family of diodes that GLA uses.

They look cool but they are 90LM/W. that's pretty bad. Lol.

Haha, for sure. I'm stuck with a tiny little tent for now and have purchased some different things for the future, so always just thinking about what the "perfect" little addition to each set up could be. The bridgelux thrive spectrum looks somewhat similar to these at a better efficieny from a datasheet standpoint, but that little bit more of the 400-420 range made me look at these a bit more.

Look forward to seeing your lights though and hope all goes well with the builds.

So I think I am gonna cave and get 448 2ft 3500K EB Gen 2 strips because they are all in stock. Wasn't really up for all that wiring. But this is the situation sooo I'll deal...lol. Soon as I got those on order I'll start procuring angle iron and other aluminum for the frame. I keep adding up $$$$$ and it's a lot. But then I compare to any of the fluence, gavita or anything and they are waaaay more per fixture.

I'll post a couple fixture designs later.

So I ordered 35x 200W Thomas Research dimmable drivers. Haven't pulled the trigger on strips yet. Waiting to hear back from future electronics since their EB Gen 3 strips are 50 cents less than what 2X 2 foot EB Gen 2 is costing me.

Ok so this is the general idea of the fixture I want to make. Trying to keep the aluminum to minimum due to the crazy price. I am trying to find a another extrusion that would work and give me a small lip around the edges to protect the leds so i can lay the fixture flat without worrying about damaging the PCBs. Are these things scary brittle? Or would they be ok supported every 8" or so?Light fixture Strips 2ft bridgelux.jpg

ok So I ordered the EB Gen 3 slims 4ft because they were 100% in stock and cheaper than 2 EB gen 2 2fters which are also 100% in stock.

Picking up the aluminum today. I am using 4" C channel with two fins on the edges see in the pictures below

The side aluminum extrusion I am using has this jog in it. I like it because it lets me recess the lights a little so if i lean them against somethign the diodes dont get hit

So Ya strips order, aluminum picking up later today, driver is in my posession already. Final fixture will be 28 EB gen 3 slim strips @ 0.7a run on 4X 200W TRP drivers. Total system Wattage should be 756w. and 92% efficiency on the driver so a total of 186X0.92= 171LM/W

Gonna fix the strips downs with thermal adhesive and screws at the end and ever 1 ft.
I will mount the 4 strips per 4" channel. except on the two middle ones will only have 2 strips. Hopefully this yields a good even spready between middle and edges. The drivers are surprisingly heavy. Total diodes per fixture 6,664. damn son

Picked up a few hundred feet of extrusion super excited.
I am looking for 18awg single strand wire. I see something called irrigation wiring. But I can't find the voltage. I need something 300V+
